Hoping it was just Pardew being his old conservative self (as far as West Ham goes).

Manchester City vs. Newcastle United - 19/08/13 @ 8pm (Sky Sports 1)

But the question is why won't it be a loss in 3D? -
Nah that's not whingeing at all is it?.. Seriously some people talk utter shite on here like.
-
Yeah if we bring in Gomis or a good winger than even Pardew shouldn't be able to get us finishing bottom half (hopefully ). Both and we'd have a very good squad IMO.
-
Aye, a valid point Another example of the club lowering our expectations. Parading a player at the game has never been about "Wooo look at the money we just spent", its not a trophy signing thing, its about introducing a new player to the fans. Its not like we had a big unveiling outside St James just for him..
-
Aye, a valid point Bollocks, we paraded a very important signing. There's no reason not to introduce a player to the fans before a game just because he's currently on loan, typical whinging.

Thought this game might be in 3D on Sky Sports but apparently not.. -
Ok misunderstanding then. I thought you meant the attempt to get Gomis was somehow not genuine just to make it look like we were after players but without having to sign any of them. If we wait until the window shuts for Gomis and miss out on targets in other positions then there's no excuse for that (especially if its a winger since we certainly still need one with our without Gomis). No reason what so ever people can't negotiate for two different players at the same time. Also maybe they don't believe its not a goer, personally I see every possibility of it still going through. Two clubs are after him, one can't afford him and the club selling absolutely have to sell him in this window.
-
What are you on about man? We've put in various offers until we've finally got a fee agreed. We've then agreed terms with the player and the only thing stopping it is complications on Lyons side and agents demands. Unless you've re-written the definition of "at least we tried" than no its nowt like it at all.

Also if this new tax in France does come in how can Marseille even offer him a competetive wage? They'd need to pay him £100,000 per week just to match £45,000 per week here after tax
-
Did that new tax actually go through?, thought it was blocked.

Southampton have come up with a Championship squad with Championship level costs (I'd be surprised if their total costs were anywhere near £20m per year in the Championship), so they've been spending the extra revenue now afforded to them by the Premier League. They've probably now bridged the gap between the costs they had when they came up and the hugely increased revenue they now have so I doubt they'll keep spending big. Also I wouldn't swap the players we've brought in over the last 3 windows for there's: Dejan Lovren Victor Wanyama Jay Rodriguez Steve Davis Nathaniel Clyne Paulo Gazzaniga Emmanuel Mayuka Gaston Ramirez Maya Yoshida Vegard Forren £55m Loïc Remy Olivier Kemen Vurnon Anita Yoan Gouffran Moussa Sissoko Massadio Haidara Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa Mathieu Debuchy Romain Amalfitano Gael Bigirimana Curtis Good Kevin Mbabu £28m Even better if Gomis comes in (don't think Southampton are currently in for anymore players?). Going to be interesting next summer when the increased TV money has been received. If we're not spending then you'll even find me getting into the "where's the fucking money gone!" posts
-
Probably just spending money now that they're guaranteed from the new TV deal next year.
-
What the fuck is this sovereign state shite that keeps getting mentioned?

The amount of idiots who claimed at the time that "its not that good, he only runs in a straight line" Completely missing the balance required, the split second change of pace to get away from the second tackle and the little chip while running flat out at the end to leave the last defender tackling thin air.
-
We shouldn't have to, but if Lyon want us to then we're right to tell them to fuck off, they're getting a very good fee for a player who'll effectively be worth £0 in a few weeks. Not sure if its the fee to St. Etienne or an exorbitant agents fee or both. But as the window starts to close I think its Lyon who have by far the most to lose so hopefully sense will finally prevail.
-
He often doesn't run at full speed because he likes to draw a player in before bursting away.
-
Not so sure, now we've got Remy and Shola is scoring I can see us just waiting to see if they buckle. They might not, he's only got a year on his contact hasn't he? More money to be made next summer. Its probably going to be Lyon who buckle, they have everything to lose.

I rarely watch the half time punditry on these channels anyway, just mute it at half time usually
-
Best we got was "if there was a title for best fans I think they'd get it".
-
Show the lunatic Di Canio running around like a mental case and talking shit or show Pardew making excuses, I suppose its an easy choice Nothing of any interest said about either club really, not even a Newcastle Brown Ale reference, very poor effort. EDIT: Then the first advert in the break is Newcastle Brown Ale.. they missed a trick their like, could have got some extra ad revenue
-
They're probably all just thinking "more matches streamed in the pub this year!".
-
Liverpool are always the bridesmaid and never the bride because while they've won 18 top division titles they've never won the league since it was renamed to The Premier League... This still isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be though, so far.

We need more players no doubt. But we have actually brought in one quality striker, and him being a loanee makes absolutely no difference to his quality. He can't be sent down in September either, get a grip man
