  1. Well we don't have many good players, on current form. But I'd say our best players are the ones on lower wages, players we should have a decent chance of keeping if we went down and players we certainly shouldn't need to sell.
  2. I think I'd like to see Martins come off the bench again. So that leaves Viduka, Owen and Lovenkrands as the possible starters if I was picking the team.
  3. Exactly, you just can't have a £70 million wage bill in the Championship, its crazy enough in the Premiership considering were we've been in the league in recent years. But to even consider having that kind of bill in the Championship is crazy beyond words.
  4. Michael Owen Claudio Cacapa Joey Barton Mark Viduka Fabricio Coloccini Obafemi Martins Damien Duff Ignacio Gonzalez Alan Smith Geremi That would be enough to save the money they're talking about. About four or five first team players, most of which will be leaving wether we go down or stay up, big fucking woop Also where on earth do the Journal get the info that we spent £18 million on Coloccini and Jonas? Coloccini was just over £9 million with incentives possibly taking the final fee to £10.4 million (we'll never pay the incentives if we go down and he's gone anyway) and Jonas ended up costing us £5 million.

That would be pretty funny, but I don't know of one. I don't even know how to find all of his past predictions.

The ones I've seen have been pretty shit reasoning and they've all ended up wrong as well. We were going to beat Fulham because we'd started to look much better as a unit and better defensively.. which was nonesense. Now he can't see us getting anything against Villa because, here's the great reasoning, they've had a good season.. before being shit for the last 15-20 matches. Not to mention the likes of the Boro prediction, or Chelsea.
  7. Ermmm, you do realise that before the Boro game, we were level on points with West Brom...? Yes of course I realise that (I spend far too much time looking at fixture lists and tables..). That doesn't warrant them being 12th and us bottom though. Like I said do they give their tickets away free?, or is it like the Marks and Spencer penny bizzare or something?

Thank fuck for that, I was worried he'd predict a win for us.
  9. That's the rumour but have the media purely based it on the usual I.e. He's young and French? They said exactly the same about N'Zogbia and when the time came it was Wigan and not Wenger who were interested. I read that we'd be wanting £8m for Bassong. How often does Wenger ever pay that sort of money for young players? Hopefully we stay up and he won't leave. Same stories went round about Martins as well, never happened and never will. Though Wenger has spent far more then £8 million on young players in the past.
  10. Well obviously we've been s***, so have Hull, so have Sunderland ect. None of that excuses a team getting a free 3 points in such a crucial game on the last day of the season.. Oh and guinness_fiend, its disgusting that Manure may be persuaded to stick by the rules for once and play a competetive team in a key Premiership game? Toon-tinted glasses aside, there are no rules that say that you must field your strongest team and risk injuries before a Champions League final. The rules state that they can field anyone in the squad. If they field a team of kids to give them Premiership experience, it will benefit Man Utd in that it is a no-risk game for them. They have earned that position. We have no-one to blame but ourselves if we go down. Yes there is, of course its at the managers discretion to decide what his strongest side is. He can argue that certain players may be unmotivated to give it their best going into the Champions League final. However I hardly think it could be argued that a team full of goalies or a team of kids is there strongest side like Of course they have to think about themselves first. But that doesn't mean they have the right to piss all over the Premiership by fielding a entire second/third team, that would be disgusting, especially given how much Ferguson himself has complained about other clubs doing the same, I mean when was the last time we did something like that?
  11. that's the one we want to happen like No way, I'd rather both Hull and Sunderland lose, I couldn't give two shits about Sunderland and would rather feel relaxed on Sunday knowing that even if we condeded late we'd still survive.
  12. The Championship is a bigger league then the French top division though
  13. No shame the first time since they were very good then, but 2 draws and a loss when they weren't a particularly good side is shit. All be it with two of those three away, its still very poor.
  14. West Brom are 12th? How can being bottom of the league be that good value for money at any price? Do they let them in free?

  16. The rest to stay on as squad players. Duff 90K per week Smith 60K Viduka 70K Coloccini 50K R Taylor 30K Very heathly wage structure for squad players...just add Owen there! Hardly any of the current Championship clubs have a total wage budget of these "squad players" of ours If we go down which looks very likely now...we're going to need a total clearout both in the players and staff(except Big Al). With this level of commitment and work rate they showed today we're not coming back too soon either I guess Duff 65K per week Smith 60K Viduka 70K Coloccini 40K R Taylor 30K

We shouldn't be tbh, we've just been stupidly lucky with other results. I mean we could possibly survive with 35 points. What was the cut off last year anyone? 36 points last year, 38 the year before and 34 the year before that so its pretty normal really.

Hull and Sunderland both beating Manure and Chelsea on the same day is hardly something that could easily happen, its possible, just about. Its far more likely that one or both will drop points.
  19. Apparently there is a Premier League rule that says a manager must pick his strongest possible team. However its totally up to the manager when it comes to defining the clubs strongest possible team What a completely pointless rule. Still when the manager freely admits that he's going to deliberately play a severely weakened team, not because he can't play a stronger one but instead to keep all his better players fresh, then how the fuck can the FA justify that as fitting in with the rules?
  20. I must have repressed that like? Was it Sunderland? The one where he cut in from the left about 4 yards out and hit it straight at the keeper. Sure it was? Possibly, but for the life of me I can't remember it, and I usually do remember stuff like that.
  21. Well yeah obviously, but its much more unlikely for Hull to beat Manure and Sunderland to beat Chelsea then just for Hull to beat Manure.
  22. they would look so stupid if they go down! Would their bank balances look stupid when they secure lucrative moves elsewhere after we get relegated? No team on earth is going to match the wages we're paying these fuckers.
  23. so you are happy with the policy that is about to send us down ? Stop ignoring the point NE5 its tiresome and gets you absolutely nowhere. Lack of spending IMO is not the thing that's put us in this situation. The people Ashley has appointed to run the club for most of the season are and I'm certainly not happy with a policy of hiring the wrong people for the job..
