"Keegan see's Barton as a vital part of his squad".. fuck off Craig you tosser
-
It better not be on loan, we better be selling the fucker!
-
There are some right idiots on this forum Ash.
-
I think we should have talked the fee for Milner down a bit and tried to pay a bit more for the likes of Gutierrez so our net spend would be higher!

Has Frazier Campbell gone to Hull for £7 million?? What the fucks going on?!!!

You're not getting Milito Dawson lover.

Why don't the FA just offer to sell them the Premiership title for £400 million? It would save time and a whole lot of pretence.. -
How do you know we haven't signed or came to an agreement with anybody today? How do you know we have, despite the lack of any confirmation of anything ? You really are living up to NE5 nickman of Thick Mick aren't you, honestly i swear you should really look to engage your brain before posting ! Lets see Maccelsfield town have probably signed Kaka today, because there's been no word that they haven't, FFS. Words are cheap mate, we need action and we need it bloody fast. Erm.. I don't see Mick claiming we've signed someone today do you? You're the one making claims with absolutely no knowledge of the situation, as usual, stop whining FFS

Thought Coloccini was class again today under extremely difficult circumstances, read the game well won the ball ahead of the opposition and looked cool in possession, completely at a loss how anyone could believe he was poor
-
When did he say we're currently working on 2 to 3 signings like?.. As far as I can see he's still saying the same as he said a couple of days ago, which is that we're working on five signings at the moment with two close to completion and the other three just maybe's.

4-3, 3-2?, what ya talkin bout Willis?

If they had a 25% clause then yes, I'm not convinced they did, but its certainly possible. It all comes from Ken Bates rambling on about a player they have a sell on clause for who was likely to move soon. People have assumed its Milner, which is a fair assumption, but given its the transfer season it could potentially be any of a clutch of ex Leeds players (Lennon ect). I also agree with what someone said earlier about the initial fee, it was £3.5 million rising to £5 million on bonuses, considering he never played for England or in the Champions League there's no chance we paid the full £5 million, more like £4 million or so.

Obviously Keegan believes we are further forward considering today's comments in comparison to the ones from last week.. Just because we haven't seen anything from it doesn't mean nothings happening. Teasy you and others have been saying the same thing all summer. As Manor pointed out, it's action we need now. The speed of the Milner move to Villa surely shows that transfers can happen quickly these days despite what we arre told to believe, really how much more work needs to be done behind the scenes ? A transfer between two Premiership sides with the player already having a transfer request accepted and being happy to sign for the club offering for him is hardly a standard transfer. Not really one to judge transfers on in general is it.. Plenty of work has to be done in the background. If we sign four players tomorrow does that mean all of a sudden Newcastle United have decided to get off there collective arse and do something? The work for those transfers will have been done in the weeks and months leading up to that day. The fact is none of us know what happens at Newcastle United on any given day. All we have to go on are Keegan's words, which have gone from negative and worried to positive and excited within days, that says to me that things have moved forward during that time.
-
Well said. Nah we should have turned down £12 million for an average player and given him a raise simply because he wants one, all because he's a good lad Not so good a Footballer mind but a good lad and a cracking darts player!!

Oh by the way have I missed something about a sell on fee to Leeds in this thread? Or are people just guessing that there must have been one?
-
Oh my god - "B I D S" . . . (or even more accurately - "reported bids"). How many times does THAT need to be pointed out? Fine then, lets look at facts. Coloccini for a reported 9m going up to 10.3m - also reported to have signed the 'contract of his life'. True, the Modric bid (I'll forget the Aimer & Inler ones because as Dave said, could be wrong) was made before any players were sold. In the end the deal didn't come off but it shows that the money is there for players of the right calibre. Gutierrez had an original asking price of 10m but we got around the via a loophole, but I imagine we still had to pay a few to get him in. There's a difference between 'selling to buy' and simply getting rid of players that are no good for us. How do you know (or 'imagine') that a Coloccini purchase would have been funded, if we had got (say) Modric? Also, I don't think Keegan would agree with any of you "Milner haters" on here ("no good for us" !!!!) I don't agree with you either. I also asked if you thought it would just be a 'mere coincidence' if Ashley actually spends some money RIGHT NOW? Well? Have you ever thought that we might not have budgeted to buy another RM, and therefore we need the money from his transfer before we can buy a replacement. er . . . is that not my point !!!!!!!!!! No it wasn't you mong, your point was that you think this means we have to sell to buy. His point is that we have to buy because we've sold.. not the same thing.
-
There's far more chance of him being on £30,000 then £10,000.
-
So you're saying we should have told Taylor "you can have what Milners on or you can leave for nowt" and left it at that? Again Taylor's contract was running out therefore we had to negotiate a new contract with him. Milner is one year into a four year contract, these two situations can't even be compared.
-
Now they've got flukey just like Liverpool
-
I know, that last chance should have finished it. They had one player in the centre against two defenders and both of them just left the one midtjylland player by himself to recieve the cross.. Dunne literally just walked away from him for no reason, fucking awful defending!
-
Man City's defending has been pathetic, no exaggeration, I'm shocked at how bad they look defensively.
