Not really no, as much as I hate them Manure aren't just about spending loads of money, they've gotten where they are through a combination of great management (from the team right up to the board) and spending money on the right players, money that's come from being well run in the first place.. Chelsea are just pure money and nothing more, money thrown at them by a billionaire. Plus they've spent far far more in just a few years then Manure have spent in there entire history.

What do you mean? The joke is Abramovich has tried his best to buy the Champions League but no matter how much he spends they still can't win it. So its an example of something money can't buy, but "for everything else there's master card".

I don't think he could have actually, by the time he left his team were utterly hopeless and without the pick up in morale and improved Football Keegan brought I could see us being relegated. Who said he left the club in a mess? He didn't have time for that, but he certainly left the team in a mess.

His touch does look class. That had to be a 50 yard pass and he killed it instantly and turned the defender. He hasn't done much so far but then he hasn't had the ball much either.

Me too. I don't really know what he's getting at. As Wullie says, most of the players he bought were made to work by Keegan. It's not like people started off saying we were right to sack him then were proved wrong. To be fair he had 22 games - obviously made some silly mistakes but id hardly say he was a failure. Bare in mind Keegan didnt nothing agsint opponents in the top half, hardly enough evidence to suggest that he was a guarantued failure - definitiely no evidence to suggest Keegan will be a guranateed success. Bit of a red herring, that. Keegan came in with moral and orginisation at rock bottom with a run of games against the best in the league. Bit of a big ask to expect him to turn things around to the point were we're getting results from the likes of Arsenal, Manure, Chelsea, Villa or Everton.. The teams we needed to get results from were the teams around us and we did that. Under that fat c*** we couldn't even beat Derby or Stoke. He made us into a f***ing awful team, a shambles, that's failure in my book.. Ok....no doubt it was an incredibly poor start, but the general consensus amongst the fans were that he may of suceeded eventually - even today i bet there'd be some people who would admit that he may of suceeded eventually, hardly the definition of failure. Same cant be said for someone like Souness- now thats the definition of failure. I know a lot of fans thought that for a time. But I think just about everyone had given him up as a failure in his last few games. He may not have been quite as much of a failure as Souness (honestly its a close call, but I suppose Souness was backed with much more money..) but I still don't see how his time here was anything but a failure.

Why wouldn't he? He got his 500,000 a year salary plus millions in dividends either way.. Just using him as a model to compare the current regime against - one who it it widely regarded was taking out more than he put in freezes the prices after an appalling season, another raises ticket prices by around six times the official rate of inflation (or three times the real rate of inflation) after a season that made the Souness era look like a well organised outfit. He still took home his massive wages that year yes? He still decided to pay himself dividends despite the s*** season yes? Freezing ticket prices didn't really effect him did it?... As long as the higher ticket prices go to helping the club financially rather then in to the chairmans back pocket then that's at least something.
