  1. A player with good control, technique and awareness should be pretty useful against teams sitting deep and asking us to break them down.
  2. Let's just quietly forget about Sels, Laazar and Gomez I assume you mean Gamez?, who Benitez signed for almost nowt (or was it actually nowt?) as cover and was available all season as cover, so nothing at all wrong with that signing. Sels was a mistake as was Lazaar apparently. But if making two mistakes out of like 15-16 signings means a manager doesn't know his stuff then good luck finding a single manager ever who did.
  3. Fuck off man, Murphy would be abysmal in the Premier League. He seriously struggled with his overall game in the Championship, but did manage to pop up with some important goals. At Premier League level though he'd be completely unacceptable. His record is about a goal every 2 games (look at minutes played not just appearances), the real question hanging over him for me isn't his goal record but why he seems to get so little time on the pitch. Either way that doesn't justify the idea of instead keeping a 35 year old who moves like a bus and has never scored a single goal in the Premier League. You also said he's scored 36 goals since 2009, he didn't even really get started till 2012, either way 36 goals in 128 appearances (89 full games in minutes on the pitch). Like I said for me its not his goal scoring record which is the worry. Its the fact that at Stoke he seemed to get only fleeting appearances, then went to Depor where he only got fleeting appearances.
  4. Not surprised at that, Behrahino had been a massive pain in the arse. At West Brom aye, but he was supposed to be Stokes main striker, considering they paid £15m for him in January. Yeah, but even for Stoke he's been a pretty disastrous signing. Can't imagine why they wanted him so much TBH, especially not after the West Brom circus. If you think our striking options are limited, try being Stoke City. Aye, that's whats funny. He's done far less than Joselu for Stoke yet he's being persisted with and Joselu is out on loan and sold for £5m. Remember when Berahino was going to potentially sign for us for £20m+ and people were excited about it? Glad its gone wrong for that little fucker to be honest.

  6. Some of the Stoke fans saying they'd prefer to sell us Berahino and keep Joselu
  7. Total of 12 games, stoke fans seem to think he's good and deserved much more from Hughes. I've been far less excited for signings then this like, I mean think about some of the shit we've signed in the past.
  8. Also as the stoke fan mentioned he barely got any time on the pitch for Stoke. His entire game time there totals about twelve games.
  9. Well whatever you think of Caballero, Benitez wanted him which means we should have done our absolute best to get him.
  10. I've borrowed a season ticket for this. Thing is its a senior ticket, I doubt it'll be a issue but has anyone had a problem with that before? (getting stopped for having a ticket they don't qualify for). Also how the hell do you work these new season ticket cards? Do you just push any part of it into a slot or something?
  11. Think some of you would be proven very wrong if he could stay fit, he won't though (prove me wrong Siem!). Yes he's slow, but he looks to have excellent awareness and good technique.
  12. Ok prices in general have been insane, but I don't see where the issue is with paying 15 million Euro's for Lucas Perez, that's not insane money IMO.
  13. Well he played for us yesterday so I hope he is, or we've likely broken a rule on playing the undead.
  14. Aye so did Shearer. Before anyone has a go at me for comparing Mitrovic to Shearer its not worse than comparing him to Alan Smith. Simple fact is last season we played better as a team every time Mitrovic was in the side. Gayle is undoubtedly a goal scorer, but we dominated games with Mitrovic up front. He's another option and he does change the game when he comes on. How people can't see that I've got no idea.
  15. Qatar Sports Investment, which owns PSG, pays Neymar €300m to be ambassador for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This allows him to buy himself out of his contract with Barca and sign for PSG, who then bypass the FFP-rules as they have absolutely nothing to do with the €300m . If that occurred the governing bodies could investigate it, easily see its a attempt to bypass the rules and act accordingly. But if they just let people use work arounds like that then of course FFP won't work.
  16. From what i've seen of him and Ojo, which admittedly isn't a massive amount, i'd take Roberts out of the two every time. Same. Ojo will never make it. And Teasy, you think Gayle will hit 20 goals next season? Like Aguero and Costa last season? No, did I say that?, read again..
  17. Comfortably mid table??.....i very much doubt it, as it is i think we are certs for the drop....lose Gayle and we won't score goals and even Gayle will do well if he hits 10+ desperately need another striker and number 10 to chip in with goals I'll be very shocked if a fit Gayle hasn't scored near 10 by Christmas Prepare to be shocked We are a much more united team this time round despite lack of quality in areas, however we will comfortably be in a relegation battle if we don't bring more players in. I actually think Gayle, Ritchie and Shelvey will have a good season but if any are injured we lack good enough replacements and are severely short in centre mid and up front. I reckon Gayle will get 10-12 over the season, he will struggle to get that by Jan, so we need goals from elsewhere as well Gayle definitely has the quality to get 15-20 in the Premier League IMO, just depends on how much support he gets from his team mates.
  18. The market also seems to have gone up far more than the increase in TV money.
  19. I already said Townsend. Sissoko and Janmaat were absolute donkey shit that season. Wijnaldum scored goals, but was a dead weight away from home. Look at the players we've gained since then vs the ones you just mentioned. Reputations aside I'd prefer the likes of Ritchie and Gayle. Still there's absolutely no excuse for not improving the squad further.
  20. Said that the last time we got relegated and this squad is nowhere near as good as that one Really? Which players from that squad would improve us now? Not just considering perceived quality at that time by the way, but how they were performing. I'll give you Townsend (though we now have Ritchie and Murphy), but who else is missing that makes this squad nowhere near as good?
  21. Last season in the Championship?, have we fuck.
  22. This fucker is going to be absolutely class!
