wasn't he a favourite of biesla (allegedly) too and doesn't bielsa play pretty attacking stuff? you'd have expected him to have been decent if so Of course he is man, you don't go from a exciting skillful winger at 20 to slow and talentless at 22. He's had a bad season and some bad press and it just seems like he's disliked in France.
-
No speed either, despite him clearly being quick (or is everyone else in France just really slow ).
-
Would be very disapointed if he kept the same team. Its one thing keeping the same team when you've had a decent result. But after Swansea he should be looking to bring in more of the new signings in place of the likes of Obertan.
-
Who said they care what wage anyone's on? The club will care obviously, no doubt high wages would have been one reason they weren't interested in the likes of Shaqiri.
-
He's much younger than Payet or Ayew and likely on much lower wages than Shaqiri.
-
Another point that's been made before but worth repeating given this discussion is that Carr doesn't decide who we sign. He has a list of players and a say but it's not as if we just go out and get the top name he suggests. Or at least we haven't in the past. If we had we wouldn't be signing the likes of Riviere, we'd have signed Lacazette instead for instance.. I think his record is excellent personally considering what we've been prepared to pay for players in the past.
-
won't be once city buy otamendi If we get Abdennour though
-
What are Swansea's wages like in comparison to turnover and all that shite? They get some good players in but I'd imagine they're paying them a fair wedge in lieu of fees. Not saying there's anything wrong with their approach but if they are paying well they'll have to be very careful with it like. In 2014 it was £63m (64% of turnover) but considering the likes of Ayew and Gomis I'd expect that to have increases significantly. Also pretty sure some of the signing on fee's they're paying are pretty large as well.
-
I see his point on Mbemba at right back for that game actually because Janmaat didn't seem quick enough to deal with their right wingers pace, Mbemba performed better against him. But Williamson in the center to provide a big physical presence is the mental bit. Couldn't find a less physical presence than Williamson.
-
Didn't we quadruple Luque's wages to £85k or something? I'm sure Thauvin will get a bigger wage here, but nowt even close to that kind of stupidity.
-
If you believe everything you hear about him in the press then he's a strong enough character to stay where he is if he doesn't want to go, offer accepted or not.
-
How many times did this lot bang on about Thauvin not being interested, seems like every article I read from them about him mentioned his lack of interest in Newcastle. Seems interested now like..
-
Pardew back as "manager" like?
-
Always thought the Defoe deal was a bit of a ridiculous one. Still who else really offers any kind of goal threat for them? I suppose if they can get rid of him and replace him with someone better/younger it may be a good move, but I really doubt they'll get much of a fee if any for Defoe. He'll be 33 pretty soon.
-
Maybe you just remember reports that he didn't want to come here?, I can't remember any quotes from him at Marseille.
-
He was good for them near the end of the season, very far from great overall that season. But yeah still better than Gouffran.
-
Hope to see more of Mitrovic and Aarons today even if its likely from the bench. Also want to see Perez get on, he'll be even better in a side that's actually trying to pass and move.
-
Another loan for Borini? Weren't they trying to buy him last season? Would have thought Liverpool would have insisted on a transfer.
-
IMO if Cisse stays (which IMO depends on wether we can find someone willing to pay enough for him or not) we have good options. Cisse, Mitrovic, Perez, Riviere, all different kinds of striker and the first 3 very good players. Having said that IF we can find a club for Cisse I do think he'll be off and so we'll need a replacement.
-
I reckon he rates him. You can see what McClaren has done with players he doesn't rate. Fair play to him for that, but Obertan should be treated just like Williamson and Gouffran. Don't believe he rates him personally, we'll see, but IMO he won't keep starting him once more players are fully fit.
-
In that case I want him to sign even more!
-
But then why say it? Is he a mental case that just goes on twitter and says random things that have no meaning?
-
Could mean anything and likely means nothing Can think of four possibilities: He's on a wind up He sees the Premier League as his future long term He's signing for us He's signing for Southampton
