If this is happening, I'm really surprised it's come now. I was expecting him to be here at least until this summer if not until the end of his contract. Credit to the club for working out a deal rather than letting things fester. Best of luck to him. I'm one of the ones who thinks he played an important role for us last season. I dread to think what the alternatives were given all the circumstances. But we were never going to get more than 6 months of real benefit out of him and just had to sink the money in to make things happen. Since then he's been consistently declining for us despite not being that old. Still, that was a massive 6 months for the club's overall future.

I hope so too, but hope and expectation are not close neighbours. If we've got a suitable replacement in mind then I guess it sounds good.

I'm surprised at people saying he should've scored the header, I was impressed at what he got on it personally, it was an awkward ball for a standing jump. It was a great save. I don't think anyone including Wilson would've done much better. It was 3rd division opposition obviously, but main thing I was impressed by was the intelligence of his movement. Could tell he was class even if not at the top of his game. Reminded me of Kluivert, now I think about it.

Could still teach our current players a thing or two.
