  1. If you're on T-Mobile I believe you can get a year free.
  2. St. Louis City played them right before the break for Leagues Cup and he was subbed on to start the second half. I had no idea he was still playing at all, and when I saw him yelled "Holy shit, I thought Yedlin retired years ago!" Our seats are 11 rows up and right behind where he had taken up his position. And, of course, it was one of those awkward silent moments right before the second half kicks off. Hopefully he took it for the genuine expression of surprise that it was . . . .
  3. Picked up the light blue 1/4 zip for $30. Can never have too many 1/4 zips.

Having STL City tickets continues to be a fun ride. Wife is getting seriously into it - she wanted to re-watch the first half after we got home at 00:30 due to the tornado-warning-delayed start time because our seats are at the opposite end of the stadium from the goal we were attacking. On board with the Club's approach to just about everything, and am enjoying the style of play - especially the nice dose of shithousery that is proving to be an effective addition to the high-pressing style of play - not sure which is more responsible for the errors we're creating in the opposition. Still early days, and I'm not sure we have the depth to maintain it throughout the whole season or how long it will be until other teams adapt effectively to it.
  5. Someone send him a .wav of the plodding, mind-numbing, rage-inducing desecration of "when the saints go marching in" that he'll have to suffer through for at least 50 minutes of each home match. That should clear up that "affinity" right quick. Here's a version from an actual fucking funeral lest anyone have forgotten it's a joyful song:

Cool to be a part of it, but, of course, could see fuck all until the replays later. Enjoying the style we're playing, though it seemed much muddier with more chasing than getting into the passing lanes (apart from Blom who was everywhere) than against Austin. Too small a sample size to have a clue whether teams are already adjusting or whether it was just a function of the difference between the styles of play that Austin and Charlotte employed.

Welp, that was a hell of start. Unexpected but a lot of fun.

Bump just because today is the day. Also, got season tickets for St Louis City so am kinda stupid excited about that. Club has a thoughtful plan (which may well crash and burn on the pitch), loads of community involvement already, and the stadium is gorgeous.

Free subscription in tomorrow's T-Mobile Tuesday if you're on T-Mobile in the states.
  10. Christ, Musk really has rolled back the moderation - blatant human trafficking's now OK, I guess.
  11. Early goal and this will be fun. Might need another defender to slip, or a wacky deflection to get it, but I'm hoping we do.
  12. Sorted. Only issue is finding one his size.
  13. Put me on Team Stay at Brighton. Would I rather be at a place that has shown long term faith and support of my vision, with the chance of establishing a club as a perennial top-half (maybe underestimating) Premier League side? Or go into the meat grinder of ego-tastic owners who spunk millions for players I might not want and demand a level of results that is unachievable given the fickle nature of football? I'm quite sure that Mr. Potter is well-compensated enough to live comfortably without going to a club that has had 8 full-time and 2 interim managers in the last 10 years. I'd personally rather build something of value than be Mr. Flavor of the Day for a year. I hope Potter tells them to fucking fuck the fuck off.
  14. Guardiola Klopp Howe Potter Conte Ten Hag Rodgers Moyes Frank Tuchel Vieira Hassenhutl Marsch Arteta Cooper Lampard Gerrard Left out Lage and Silva as I know fuckall about them. Not a big fan of Conte as a medium or long term solution. Certainly with a very good team, some key demanded additions he can move a team up that last (admittedly difficult) step, but the parameters under which he demands to operate mark him down in my book as a short-term option for an already well-positioned team. Maybe he's earned that right. Started following BvB during the @shley years so have seen the Tuchel story before and moved him down quite a bit more than most. Good at improving a sloppy, directionless side, but once the players understand the system, his micromanagement and demands for complete compliance squeeze the life out of the team so that the players resent him, make stupid mistakes and the owners hate the results. I'm still angry about some of the subs he made at BvB. BvB also = soft spot for Klopp, though his recent antics have really gotten on my tits.
  15. That's the kit man fired for forgetting to separate the colors from the whites.
  16. Getting the cracked windshield on my car replaced tomorrow during their match. Infinitely better use of my time.
