    Hatem Ben Arfa

good shout, pardew probably read about allardyce doing spurs 0-3 with his 4-6-0 and exploded in his pants to be fair, given how little cisse contributes these days and how good remy is from the left it makes a lot of sense Tbh anything is better than Cisse upfront on his own. Would be nice to see HBA in that false nine role, he would have enough pace to exploit any gaps between the defense and we all know he can take on a centre half easy enough. Don't know if percy parsnip will like the lack of height for his plan B game...

    Papiss Cissé

Cisse needs dropped. End of. Parsnip needs to figure out who will take his place adequately without upsetting the attacking verve the surrounding wide players have...

You talking about Ronaldo then? lol...

    Vurnon Anita

Anita deserved to be dropped after his last performance. Tiote did bring much more zip, energy and "force" into the midfield, Cabaye kind of made up for his lack of creativity. He still needs to stop lingering on the ball and doing those half turns as he gets caught out too often, but in general the performance from him was much improved. Didn't think Cardiff's midfield was that great which made it easier for us. Liverpool up next, not sure if we want a stopper or someone who can make us more fluid for that game, on their present form i would say they are pretty much on a par. Training will dictate it I suppose. One change I would make is Santon, too salck at the back and is making mistakes, a game or two on the bench might get him more focused.
  5. A point to consider: When playing our 4-3-3 with Remy on the left and Gouff or Ben Arfa (when he starts defending again) on the right. Can you imagine if we had a "decent" centre forward e.g. Defoe/Wellbeck/Michu/Giroud (we could assume that this lot are/were attainable... even for us!) , or at the minimum, someone with a semblance of form.... We would have finished this game off by half time on saturday and I'm quite sure that with someone of the above ilk it would have been more than enough. I really do think Cisse should be dropped , he isn't putting in the shifts like he used to, hounding players down and running himself into the ground. I did notice on saturday that his attitude to his teammates was pretty poor, complaining at every pass instead of geeing them on to get the next one right. If Hatem's got his head back I would put Gouff as our centre forward with remy and HBA wide on each side against the red bin dippers, Hatem's got a chance at redemption here!!
  6. The goal when Lukaku scored after beating both Colo and MYM was because neither of them wanted to take responisbility for him, both shatted out and looked at the other. When you have a big man up front like that it is very easy, one of you is aggressive trying to get in front of him and pressuring him close, the other sweeps up behind... Schoolboy stuff honestly...

    Vurnon Anita

Yes he completed many a pass tonight but they were all bland and wet in my opinion. He had about twenty opportunities to make a run into space or to carry the ball and draw players in before releasing and he always took THE EASY OPTION. This resulted us in being toothless in the middle of the park. second half he had a five minute spell where I think he suffered a bout of shame and knew he had to make an effort. As long as it was a one off ...

I cannot beleive that you have watched the same game as I did! He was a footballing coward tonight, every time he got the ball he took the negative route or the easy pass without actually stepping up and trying to create. I have liked him the last three games but tonight he was abysmal...heart of a pea
  10. An obvious point: We lost this game due to lack of character and heart in the first twenty minutes. How can we play like we did in the second half and not like that in the first fifteen minutes, arguably the most important time to stay tight and to compete???
  11. I am an advocate of anita normally but tonight I thought he was extremely negative and tentative on the ball. there were far too many times when he should have bust into the space free ahead of him but he faltered time and again and passed sideways or backwards. Not impressed. Cabaye made a hell of a difference when he came on. Tiote did what he was meant to do, you just cannot play him and anita together otherwise we become very slow and predictable.
  12. Everton sat back a lot in the second half, we weren't amazing by any chalk... one wondergoal by cabaye and a scrappy effort with perseverance by remy. Remy looked far more effective coming in from the side tbh. Wow! Williamson was top! What a difference when somebody challenges for the ball... Shows just how bad MYM was. colo upped his game aswell and put in a shift. Santon was crap again in the second half, should have been subbed for Dummet
  13. Don't know what you have seen from Anita? All I can see is a panicky little school boy out of his depth... Every pass is sideways or backwards, he is scared to advance even 5 yards when there are huge spaces in front of him... yyyuuurgh!
  14. Coloccini where R U? Santon, do you know what defend means? Anita where is your heart? the ball IS NOT A HOT POTATO! Mapou can you at least look like you are trying... Front three, do you think it possible we could pressurize the ball coming out I suppose you will have something to say Alan.... Cabaye for Anita Gouff in Middle Remi wide Dummet on
  15. barry as the defensive sweeper in midfield, the rest as very attacking midfielders with Lukaku as the sole point of reference up top... Difficult game. P.S. That defense looks solid!
  16. Great decision by Pardew! Everyone on here completely deluded, Cisse has been very very very very poor of late and you just cannot keep playing him... Think about how other players will think or react if he onstinately kept playing him every game... Tiote must have impressed in training, can see why he might want some more steel in the middle to stop the everton attacking midifielders. Like it! Hope it works out...
  17. Would deffo go with Gouffran (or Remy) up front instead of Cisse, we can't just blindly keep faith in him that he'll "come round", we are losing chance after chance, his touch/hold up play is atrocious and he is adding nothing at all to our play at the moment. I would like to see anita stay in the middle and let Tiote come on after 60 or so when we are in front . Team would be: -----------------------Krul-------------------------- Debuchy-----MYM-------Colo-------------Santon -------Cabaye-------Anita------Sissoko-------- --Hatem-----------Gouffran----------Remy
  18. From Berwick, so the closest "big" team is Newcastle (can't go north as we ARE English - Rest of you= Suthen Puffs), lived in Newcastle from 16 to 18 and that's when I really started to support.. :'(
  19. stoke at home would be easy peezy... Otherwize Chelsea away, that way I get to see a free game and free nosh with the bigwigs :kasper:

    Papiss Cissé

Yep, he fluffed about ten chances before the golden plated, diamond crusted, platinum lined chance came his way...

    Sammy Ameobi

very impressed with his first half, seems to have matured into a professional footballer. right decisions and good consistent play, movement and passing... Keep it up!!!

Liked the "Look" and Dingle bits... great craic!
  23. Tottenham away could be down to the fact Bale was unplayable at the time... Agree on Liverpool tho'
  24. P.S. Still feel at times that Anita gets knocked off the ball too easily and should contest a little bit "harder" (old school in me coming out)
