  1. Anybody think of a weaker centre midfield pairing than ours in the prem? I still laugh out loud at times when I see Anita running full throttle, he looks like a cartoon figure when the body stays still and the legs are going 100mph.

    Steve McClaren

They don't though. We've been absolutely horrendous in possession at Spurs three years running and somehow won all three games. It's a very easy cliche. Nobody can tell me we were impressive against Liverpool and Spurs, this season or last. We've won the games because we've been solid and pinched it on the break in the second half. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not evidence that the players are somehow turning up against those teams. I'd be even more worried if that was them turning it on, Jesus. We were very impressive second half last week. After we scored certainly, when the home team under enormous pressure to win the game has to come out and throw everything at us, and we can break. Mitrovic nearly scored on the break, then Perez did score on the break. We've hardly scored a goal all season that wasn't either a counter attack or a set piece. Our offensive threat against a team that is defending basically doesn't exist. Agree, we seem to have only a "Plan A" which is work hard, soak up the threat and possibly hit them on the break when they go through a rough spell, add to this the silly tactic of bringing on our two better forward players with only thirty minutes and it shows the imagination of our coach... Thauvin for ten minutes yesterday was the exception to the rule
  3. Very true, what he offers going forward is fantastic but he does not offer much defensively. Hate the fact he drifts out of games a lot as well.
  4. Just watched the "Ben Arfa chop" and some other videos, I am 100% honoured to have seen this guy play three or four times...Wow! what a fu#k up of a club we are letting him go
  5. Dummet has the same problem as Coloccini: a compete lack of pace and slow starters off the block. they both defend by interception or letting their prey have five yards... Put any sort of medium paced winger/attacker near them and they get raped. Colo at least can play the ball out of defence and reads the game well, also is ten years older than dummet. Mbabu needs to come in at left back, we look really weak there at the moment. i thought dummet looked decent there a year or so back but he is absolute tear gas now.
  6. Does anybody on here think we would have paid any money for Colback? Imagine if he had a price tag of £5M, we would not have him in our team... that simple!
  7. Goal was completely the fault of the defense, janmaat and another player were very poor and should have closed the space as soon as he moved. Elliot is playing ok for me, I suppose with a run of matches he is now "match fit" and has more confidence than when used sparingly.

    Florian Thauvin

Thauvin was class yesterday, his first touches his pace on the ball in those conditions and he got every cross in the right area. Was very impressed, there is a player in there for us! As per the points above, I would also rather we dropped one of Anita/Colback and bring Wijnadlum into the middle. Actually, i think if we were to do that we need to bring Tiote back into the middle and drop both anita and colback and go something like this: ------------------------------------fats-------------------------------------- Janmmaaaat------Mbemba--------------Colo-----------Mbabu (dummet just gets worse) -------------------------------Tiote----------------------------------- Perez------------Wiji---------------DeJong-----------Sissoko ---------------------------Nitro------------------------------------
  9. No, this isn't fair, we are in front FFS. What is the ruling? do we restart the second half at some point or a complete rematch
  10. need Mbabu on the right of defense, dummet is getting skinned and has a yellow, we all know what's going to happen...
  11. Cisse will score today! You heard it here first, he lloked sharp ast week...
  12. Couple of places mentioning LOic Remy on loan from Jan. He would provide some decent fret up front?
  13. If mclaren had the balls: ------------------------------Slug--------------------------------- Janmaat-------Mbemba----------Colo---------------Dummy ------------------Wijnald-------Anita (colback)-------------- --Perez------------------de Jong-----------Sissoko------- ------------------------Mitrovic---------------------------- Choose one of Anita or Colback to partner wiji in the middle
  14. Yes, Shelvey, matip and any striker (if papiss stays) would be awesome. After Jan we will see if Mike was actually telling the truth in that famous interview, the bare minimum requirement is a top Centre Back plus one of CM or striker....
  15. Both Mitro and perez deserve to start after their contributions in the last two games, but you could also say that Cisse and deJong have played pretty well in the last two. The formula is working at the moment i.e. the top two run themselves into the ground over 60 mins and then we unleash the two youngsters who just have too much energy for the tirning defence to contend with... I would personally stick with what we are doing, seems to be working nicely.
  16. Looking at that list, would it be worth a punt on Samba? He had a couple of great seasons at Blackburn many moons ago...
  17. Yes, I would love an imposing midfielder who can actually play a bit, shelvey would be a dream tbh! Add to that a quality centre back and we have the spine which our team is missing. If we got a striker as well that would just be too much, I would have a perma boner!
  18. I think he's a plastic hotel door key
  19. His final ball was beyond woeful today. He made most of the penetrating runs today and defended/pressed a bit better than usual. No complaints apart from the final ball, although he did put two across that should have been goals (cisse/Mitro). poor bloke needs a teflon flak jacket no? I do feel over critical of him at times like. However, I struggle to come to terms with those whose attitude is wrong. There were times today when the Spurs midfield just breezed past him and he didn't chase them. He just gives up too easy for me too often. It's one thing to be s*** and give 100% but it's inexcusable being a decent player who gives 50% or 100% for ten minutes. You're right about his attitude, it seems the same as the way he plays i.e. in bursts or spurts and then goes missing for 10... Suppose we have to just try and appreciate the positives a bit more...

Aye, stereotypical NUFC banana skin coming next week. One of the teams that makes us feel even better when we stuff them, dirty smug bast*rds!
  21. I think he would be great in italy or Spain, but the prem seems to be played at a tempo which passes him by. Still undecided and would like him to suddenly assimilate the pace...

  23. I've just watched the Tottenham goal on TV, Colo was marking Dier and he just allowed him to jog away, the commentator absolutely raked him for it! The bloke had a decent game but he is a complete liability at times.

    Vurnon Anita

Not my favourite player by a long chalk but he deserved MOTM today, was everywhere and kept us in it with his consistent harrying. If he keeps this up i will eat plenty H pie and enjoy it!
  25. Some neat touches, lacks the ability to get stuck in and press quickly like ayoze does. oozes calm though and that must transmit to those around him. Still prefer ayoze to him though
