Pope shit goalkeeping as well.
-
Players are weak as piss, can’t hold off an opposition player and lay off a pass.
-
Did Gust get booked, should help Barnes if he did.
-
Barnes flung to the floor it looked like. Nothing given.
-
Good catch under pressure by pope to be fair.

But neither are we…..
-
Again what are cbs doing trying to tackle near the halfway line
-
Burns is so shit passing to big Joe under pressure
-

-
Our players always seem so flat footed never expecting a pass to come their way.
-
Not sure what their claim is, many brands sell through exclusive channels?
-
Just my feelings on the situation, would be the happiest person if I’m proven wrong.

@Stifler I don’t think your comment about negativity is specifically directed at me but I’m putting out there that I’m very positive about PIF only that I don’t think they ever planned to spend mega bucks on us. I just think their plan was good scouting, data to profile and target the right untapped signings, good structure, a plan, good exec leadership, support for coaching team by providing the right facilities and tech leading us to get into Europe regularly, more often than not Europa/conference league with the odd CL year when others dip. Better than the shitshow we were. All the while being a low value unimportant investment for PIF.

Grand statements yes but actions to date don’t match that. Don’t they have form for this? To be sustainable there’s going to have to be some investment. When asked they could hardly say we bought cheap, want to get all departments in order, sign untapped talent, build up some success and then flip for a profit. £305m sale price plus £400m sunk with a £1B valuation (going by Bloomberg) they’re still up. Media reports at the time stated this wasn’t a Man City/PSG vanity project but changed soon afterwards to whip up fear (wonder who was briefing them?) The lack of will to circumvent the roadblocks put in front of us suggests they’re not that bothered. What’s in it for the Saudis? Do they need us or any other football club to sportswash or for prestige when Aramco is splashed across F1 tracks, LIV golf has some of the biggest stars signed up and they’re putting on the big title fights in boxing for way less scrutiny? Maybe we’re just a cheap investment opportunity for a global fund requiring relatively little ongoing investment (for them) with the potential for a big future sale price and that’s what we offer them? I hope I’m wrong and they have big plans in football (preferably with us).

Not sure why everyone’s getting worked up by these reports. At the outset it was stated this wasn’t a Man City type takeover but a long term investment to create a sustainable club. They never planned to plough City/PSG money into us and sign the Mbappes and Haalands. They’re looking to exploit scouting and data to find talent and develop it and I don’t think PSR/FFP changes have brought that about but was always the plan. I think their vision is Dortmund but with more money.

Think that if MBS is regarded as a shadow director then he would have to undergo the owners and directors test. I doubt that would happen as they would have to prove he is involved in the running of NUFC which he isn’t. Just because MBS is involved in PIFs decision making in relation to investing in NUFC that does mean he’s involved in decisions in relation to us. As an example INEOS execs would have been in involved in their decision to invest in Man U, doesn’t mean the same ones are involved in running Man U or subject to the owners and directors test.
-
Think most of his goal were prodding in crosses as he ran on to them at the back post, shooting from close range from a pass or whipping a curling low shot from the edge of the box. He’s always been crap running with the ball and shooting.

Thought Barnes coming on brought more cutting edge to our play. Want him to start the next match, as much as I like Gordon his performances this season don’t justify him being picked over Barnes. Gordon can play on the right and deal with it. Tonali being taken off for Willock I don’t get, an off form player being brought on to turn things around? He offered nothing. Some bad subs made my Eddie, also he along with the recruitment team need to take some blame having brought in power and pace but little skill which you need against a team sitting back (first half Brighton). A rethink is needed on the profile of player we sign for January and next summer. Also don’t think it’s time to give Eddie the boot but we’ll outgrow him. He plays huff and puff football, close down, pressurise, intensity, force errors in front of the opposition goal and score. We’re not even managing that at the moment but I’ll think he’ll turn that around but that will only take us so far.
-
Yes and no, they are restricting our growth but we had at least £70m to spend and dicked about.
-
Let the forum wars begin.
-
Can’t really blame them for wasting the summer chasing a defender who was not for sale instead of strengthening the right wing.
-
In upcoming windows we need to sign a player in the Bernardo/ David Silva profile and a right winger (maybe the right winger can be that technical player).
-
We don’t have that type of player, we’ve got powerful runners but no technical players except Isak, Bruno and Sandro.
-
Thought you were going to say something else other than back.
-
Short of a an inform Isak and Barnes we lack finishers. I know Gordon scored a few last season but never confident with him when he’s through on goal, think he’s a better when he doesn’t have the chance to think about it.
