  1. How many years/months will it be until Owen scores for us now with this latest injury ? When did he score last ?
  2. Thats because he has always been shite. So Owen wouldn't have ran into a good player then? I was talking about him being a target for abuse, but its typical calamity NUFC.
  3. Broken cheek bone, I heard. Well done Pattison, no England games for Owen, will be fresh for us start of season if he is here.
  4. don't be daft. You missed Dyer off the list. He approached Spurs himself knowing Jenas and Bent will be there. Only problem being the wages, but i`m sure he has made enough money to take the pay cut considering how much he wants to play for them.
  5. There could be something in this, from Owen too not just his "people" . About 2 months ago I heard about a couple of players who have been with us a while slagging Owen off quite aggressively when they were drunk. I took it as someone bullshitting as I just couldn`t see it myself but maybe he has stated that he doesn`t want to be here or is off as soon as possible.
  6. "Don't forget that I have played for Newcastle United, been skipper and also been the manager. "Only legendary people like Joe Harvey and Kevin Keegan can say that. Doesn`t make you a legend you four eyed twat. This pissed me off most - "But obviously losing to Alkmaar in the UEFA Cup in Holland was the turning point because it affected the players' confidence." No the lose didn`t affect them, your slagging them all off for it for the following 4 weeks did that. Still shifting blame.
  7. Why did he give everyone the impression we don`t want Sam ?
  8. Its amazing that you still have to repeat this, its been blindingly obvious for years but some folk just won't open their eyes! Thats not my point. My point is he is better than any other defender at the club apart from Taylor`s last few games. Now it seems stupid to me to let him go and keep the rest. If we are replacing the whole defence, back up included then fine. Stay blind to the facts I posted above if it helps you but to me its obvious. Its like replacing Martins before you replace Ameobi.
  9. Did Freddie say if he got this wrong he would go ? I think maybe FS said that if you resign because you can`t take the pressure it wouldn`t look as if he had made the wrong choice and therefore have to resign himself to stay true to his word.
  10. Fair play thats your opinion. Now for some facts below Bramble-Taylor played 13 games together as CB's and we lost only 1(against AZ) Taken before Bramble was scapegoated Taylor-Bramble=9 goals in 13 games Ramage-Taylor=18 goals in 10 games Not top four games Taylor-Hunty=7 goals in 3 games Not top 4 games
  11. That could work, aslong as we don`t have horrific injuries again. I just think that the kids this year are worse cover than Bramble. Maybe next 09/10 season they will be ready after a loan spell getting experience at either championship football all season or loan to a newly promoted club. I have learnt that if you don`t hit the ground running at NUFC you get your confidence shot for the rest of your career. I`m worried that could happen to Edgar and Hunty if needed too much next year.
  12. So you believe that we can bring in eight defenders in the summer or are you happy with Ramage? here we go again. right, i'll try again- the fact that Ramage is not good enough does NOT somehow make Shambles good enough. not in any way shape or form. shambles lack of ability is not caused by, linked to or mitigated by Ramage being rubbish as well. as a matter of urgency we need a left back and centre back. preferably two centres, and a right back as well. but don't tell me we should keep a player who is NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THIS DIVISION , just because a backup player is also not good enough. cos thats the kind of pathetic w*** that keeps s*** like carr, baba, moore and ameobi here. one thing we DO need is a manager with the balls to actually do something about this situation eh? you're right that shambles, moore, ramage are not good enough and i'd add to that dyer, luque, ameobi (perhaps), sib, carr, baba i'd like, for once, someone to come in as a manager and just say "you're fucken out son, not good enough, i don't need anymore time to assess you as i've watched you play like s**** for the last 5 years"...get rid of the lot of them then start rebuilding enough of this piecemeal s*** You are completely and utterly missing the point ! I could write it in capitals maybe that will help ? WE HAVE NOT GOT ENOUGH PLAYERS TO COPE WITH THE LEVEL OF INJURIES WE ALWAYS GET. WE HAVE TO KEEP SOME OF THE NOT GOOD ENOUGH PLAYERS AS OUR SQUAD IS TOO SMALL AS IT IS. WE ARE NOT CHELSEA, WE HAVE TO HAVE BACK UP PLAYERS THAT AREN`T PREMIERSHIP STARS. WHAT PLANET ARE YOU LIVING ON THINKING WE CAN BRING IN ENOUGH NEW PLAYERS IN ONE TRANSFER WINDOW TO REPLACE AND ADD TOO THE PLAYERS PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT GITTING RID OF. My point is Bramble is the best of the worst that aren`t leaving anyway. Why keep Ramage if Bramble would be happy with a new squad player contract. Don`t come back with he is s**** as we all know this and that isn`t answering the question. Simple would you rather keep Ramage or Bramble ? One other question, do you think in one window we can replace and add to the following with better players Moore Bramble Carr Baba Gooch Luque Edgar - Loan Zoggy - If he goes like it seems Dyer - If he goes like people want Ameobi - People want out Sibierski - People want out Parker - Not good enough according to alot on here Emre - Supposedly going Even replacing the top 9 listed above and adding to our small squad is near impossible. are you supposed to be addressing me? to answer your question bramble or ramage, then bramble, agreed as for your list of players i'll do the following without too much forthought: Moore - get ben haim on a free Bramble - get Distin on a free Carr - sign replacement, lets say 5m max for a competent player Baba - sign replacement, lets say 5m max for a competent player Gooch - replaced by huntington in the squad Luque - doesn't exist anyway but let's say give lua lua/troisi a shout Edgar - don't fucken loan him out, man, new manager remember Zoggy - don't let him leave, new manager remember Dyer - we'd get some type of fee and a huge boost to the wage bill Ameobi - replace with carroll, although i wouldn't let him go Sibierski - meh, either way who cares, stay or go he's cheap Parker - would command 5m+ fee and replaced by sidwell free anyhow Emre - would command 5m+ fee to sign replacement so without much thought we've signed 2 good CB's for nothing other than wages and signing on fees and lost 2 that weren't good enough signed sidwell for nowt and raked in 5m+ for parker sold emre for 5m+ and used the money to sign a replacement spent 10m max on 2 good fullbacks then we've put some faith in youth about the squad net spend 5m - it's impossible is it? spend another 10m and you could add 2 good attacking players to that all total bollocks like but don't tell me anything is impossible Sorry it was more towards NM as he didn`t answer the question, but seems like a good answer from you. My problem being ok in theory your saying its possible. First you have to identify the players that will fit in, that are avalible or want a move to us. Then you have to outbid any other club down south that might want the player. Then you have to be able to get said player at no extra cost that is supposedly better. We also need to get squad players as you have said that Bramble and Ramage aren`t good enough squad players. If you use Edgar and Hunty ( Birmingham 5-1) to cover injuries at CB then again its a repeat of this season unless they suddenly transform into good players close season. How much they would cost is debatable. What happens when our new RB and LB get injured ? No cover again. Zoggy will probably leave regardless of the new manager tbh. He has no commitment to NUFC, i`m sure if a big club came for him or mid table down south he would go regardless. edit. Once you get the clubs to agree on the 8-10 replacements you then have to get the players to agree contracts too. These players also would have to have been scouted as we don`t want any rush buys like Souness - Luque - Boumsong.

  15. I never wanted GR, I wanted Sam. I do think Bramble is good enough as a SQUAD PLAYER and have said this all along. Take yesterday for example, I was in the chatroom, the goal goes in certain members say its Brambles fault. I said nothing and waited until MOTD. There I clearly saw Nobby,Carr were pushed out, Bramble stepped up to join the rest of the team and Gooch played him onside. Its been the same for ages now, always Brambles fault regardless. That is not me dismissing Brambles howlers. Bramble goes off and Ramage/Gooch are a complete farce. Moore and Gooch going. Carr and Baba need to go before anyone. That leaves Hunty and Edgar both probably going out on loan as they aren`t good enough to not have thier careers ruined by making mistakes along the learning curve. Ramage.....joke defender, he is old enough now to be showing something but isn`t. That leaves only Taylor who is a typical up and coming defender. A string of good games followed by a string of poor games. That will go in time, something we don`t really have. We have a better defensive record than teams above us. I am a firm believer that our problems stem from a piss poor manager and an inability to hold the ball up long enough to bring the midfielders into attacking play. Also we can`t string 1 pass together let alone 2-3. We still have the midget problem we had 2 years ago where we get out muscled and out jumped. We can`t score, we havn`t scored for 8 hours yet the defense still get the blame ? How many of those games have been lost by an odd goal and how many draws could have been wins if we could find the net with the chances we had before it broke down in the final third. If I lived in fantasy world with some on here I would be saying yes replace the whole defense with 8 new ones better than we have but that isn`t going to happen. The Bramble out crew are either saying they are happy with Ramage ( Gooch and Moore going remember ) as back up over Bramble or are fully expecting us to go out and buy someone to partner Taylor, a new RB and LB aswell as cover for every position in the back four.
  16. Have you seen FS ever look happy? Well hard to explain, it wasn`t his usual miserable face, he sort of pulled that regret/dissappointment face like had to do something after the match that he didn`t want too or just pissed off with the booing. Thats what I thought anyway.
  17. Benni Mcarthy said he didn`t know what was wrong with NUFC today but they weren`t difficult to beat. Similar words anyway, no GR on there.
  18. On SSN it looked like FS wasn`t happy. I`m sure Owen was shaking his head too.
  19. With Watford relegated they will play with no pressure and beat us next week too.
  20. Still a few points behind Souness`s full season and SBR lost some of them for him.
  21. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007200737,00.html GLENN ROEDER could not care less about anyone trying to nick his job at Newcastle. When the Toon boss recalls the brain tumour which left him fighting for his life four years ago, no battle is too great. Roeder came out fighting last night after Sam Allardyce was targeted to replace him following a season of discontent on Tyneside. The heat is on to produce a winning end to the season, starting today against Blackburn, with Allardyce waiting in the wings and the Toon Army growing restless. Newcastle have failed to score at St James’ Park since February 10 and are set to end a season of mediocrity in mid-table. But Roeder said: “Do you not think we’re despondent? I think it was Alan Ball coined the phrase ‘I pick the players up but who picks the manager up?’. “Four years ago, when I was on the canvas, I could’ve curled up and died but I got up and fought on. “The one thing I learned from West Ham was it wasn’t personal, it goes with being the holder of the job. “I’ve had praise and a few slaps up here so it really doesn’t bother me. I thought what Roy Keane said about football not being the most important thing in his life was right.” Free agent Allardyce is the man wanted to replace Roeder but the current boss added: “This club, for whatever reason, is a soft easy target for speculation — whether it be players or managers. “It was Bobby Robson, Graeme Souness and now me. “The good thing with my personality is that I’ve slept very well, it’s gone right over my head, I’ve only focused on winning this last home game. “That’s my nature, my personality. There are other issues in my life that don’t compare with speculation about my job. “I’ve had several meetings with the chairman recently and there’s more planned. All we’ve discussed is what we’re looking to do next year — that’s all topics, not just players. “We’ve had Owen and Ameobi out and, conservatively, there’s 35 goals between them in a full season. “Anybody, I don’t care who it is — be it a manager in work or a manager out of work — would have struggled with Michael Owen and Shola Ameobi out. You can’t get away from that fact. “It’s not been a great season but no one’s trying to make out it is. “I’ve never brushed things under the carpet, I won’t try to deceive, con or cheat people. “We’ve not done anywhere near as well as we could have done but there are strong reasons for that.” England striker Owen will make his first appearance at St James’ Park since December 2005 but the row over drafting him into the national side continues to rumble on. The hitman has been pencilled in for the England B international against Albania on May 25 at Burnley. But Roeder rapped: “Does Michael Owen need to play for England B before he puts on the England shirt again? I would say no. “That would not be my decision but I would be surprised and I would not want him to play an England B game. “I do not think it is necessary for him to have to play in the B game, personally. Training sessions will be more than enough.” BLACKBURN reckon Newcastle striker Michael Owen lacks the match-fitness to cause them major problems today. The England hitman will play his first game at St James’ Park since December 2005. Yet he is still looking to regain sharpness after almost a year out with a cruciate injury. Rovers midfielder Aaron Mokoena insists there will be respect but no fear of the former Real Madrid star. The South African said: “We have a great respect for Michael but we definitely saw on Monday at Reading he’s not as fit as we are. “Our fitness levels will help us stop him from scoring goals. “I know he’s a quality, quick striker. But we have strong defenders in Ryan Nelsen and Chris Samba and they know what to expect. “He will be eager to show what he can do but it’s not all about him — they have other good players.” Boss Mark Hughes knows the ‘Owen Factor’ will ensure a lively atmosphere as the Toon Army welcome back a hero. But Hughes is confident his own front pairing of Benni McCarthy and Jason Roberts can upstage the £16million man. Sparky said: “It’s going to encourage their crowd so we’ll have to cope with the ‘Owen Factor’. It’s a case of quietening the crowd down a bit. “We’re playing well and my front two aren’t doing too badly so we’ll give them cause for concern.” Hughes added: “Everyone in football is pleased to see Michael back. He could come back faster and stronger than ever before.”
