I think it was you who recently defended Roeder and said that he must be our manager for next season Do you still think the same way?? About the thread its obvious for everybody that he is clueless Why play Moore when he is finished here? Why play Zoggy in that position when he was crap against Arsenal? Why dont you play Luque or Carroll alongside with Martins? Why do you play this s*** troll Carr every game? Roeder is even worse then Souness... Why play Moore when he is finished here? Because he's our least error-prone experienced central defender (which isn't much of an achievement, admittedly) Why play Zoggy in that position when he was crap against Arsenal? To give him a chance to play, since Duff's the first choice left winger, obviously. Why dont you play Luque or Carroll alongside with Martins? Because Luque's crap and lacks commitment. And Carroll's 17. Why do you play this s*** troll Carr every game? Because we have no one else that can play let-back. Simple really. Moore is slower than my granddad,he dont have any real motivation to play for us because he will be gone in 4 games. He is big injury prone and he proved that yesterday.Roeder should have played Gooch at the begining. The lad wasnt playing anything super but so far he didnt make any vital errors which was followed by a goal.He is far motivated then Moore because he is no loan here and he is fighting for his future here, for his contract, because he said that he wants to be here. And thats what kind of players we need here.Fighters who can show spirit and desire to play for this club It was obvious in the Arsenal game that Zoggy cant play upfront with Martins,he cant hold the ball, cant make the runs Dyers is making which i believe is Roeder intention to play him there. And why on earth when you see that something is not working you are continuing to do the same. That shows real incompetence and Roeder has alot of this As it proved after the game Luque and Carroll didnt played so badly as we all expected and if they were playing at the start of the game maybe things would have finished differently. So it was another mistake from Roeder not to play Luque or Carroll alongside Oba.We all know that Oba is struggling when he plays alone upfront Edgar. The lad has showed good potential in the few games he played for us but Roeder didnt see that as usual. He continued to play Huntington,Babayaro and Carr there although they were shit as always of course. He should have give Edgar a chance long time ago but as a said earlier he is too incompetent to see this things And the last thing. Are you defending Roeder or what??? I agree Moore is shite, but Gooch is too. He has been responsible for 2 goals with poor play or getting turned. Charlton is one that springs to mind. For a big player he has no real jump either. I would have played Huntington over those too unless he is injured.

Erm, why? If I could trust us to spend that money wisely I might be more inclined to agree with you but even so I wouldn't want him to go. Owen is consistantly injured, dont get me wrong, right now with no bid he is our savour, but a bid of £12million is a loss of £5million, yet it takes £110k off the wage bill every week. Martins is our main man now, hes playing in a s*** team all season, he is on the brink of 20 goals, he rarely gets injured, HE is the man we need to build this team around, with £12million we could sign another striker who will get 20 goals or more a season but wont be injured half as much as Owen. Look at the facts, Owen has been here 2 years and has made something like 11 appearences, THAT IS SHOCKING, world class or not we dont need a player who costs us so much money every week when he doesnt play. Like i said right now Owen is coming back and he is our saviour, but with his injury record, and with the fact that in a year and a half he is a free agent, plus the fact that he could jump to Liverpool any second, all these facts mean that right now if we got £12 million for him we should be laughing! I understand the whole Roeder thing, but lets not forget Roeder gave us Martins, im not defending Roeder or anything, but the fact that he gave us Martins makes me trust him somewhat in the transfer window in regards to buying a striker. Dont get me wrong btw, im a huge Owen fan and i love him being here, but £12million, guys i just cant stop thinking that his contract is up in 2 years and that he might stall on signing a new one. If we lost him to a free transfer id be gutted, even next summer clubs would be reluctant to bid high for him due to his contract ending. If this is true this will be the highest we will get for him should he want to leave, i think Shepherd needs to talk to Owen, find out weither or not he will sign a new deal. If not then sell. Any idiot who knows anything about football abroad knew Martins was a good fast player for a few years now. It was probably nothing to do with Roeder or our dumb scout. It was Emre saw Roeder crying into his cornflakes about needing a striker who then told the club about Martins.

I thought the same actually, if there is any ounce of truth in it.

Was Dyer injured or rested ?

Didn`t it take an organised protest to get FS to realise Souness was shite ? With the amount of apathy instilled around the place nowadays there won`t be one and the idiot will stay.

Portsmouth 2-1 Newcastle United - Post Match Thoughts.
Rebellious replied to BlufPurdi's topic in Football
Pompey beat Man U only last week you know. Don't be too harsh on the lads. seriously, thats the kind of shite roeder and the few idiots still defending him will be coming out with soon. -
The fans defending him must be the people who started trying to understand football just recently. Not seen enough football to realise how shite he is either that or their these non confrontational types that get walked over in real life to keep the peace.

Yeah tell me about it. Even under the dark dark Souness days I never lost interest in watching NUFC play but these days under Roeder I just don`t bother. I hated Souness for ruining our club, I hate Roeder for being Roeder.
-
If they have week in week out training together and the core of the team had been playing for a couple of years I would expect 1st or 2nd. If they are only together for a few days every few months before each game like in reality then about 6th as I voted.
-
How could you say he would fail to acclimitise to the premiership? He has probably watched more games in the premiership than some premiership managers. Between him and his team whilst he was manager for however many years they must have watched about 8 games a week in the premiership. He would have dossiers on almost all England players. I would imagine the England manager job is more a scouting job than anything.
-
Is that why a handful of them came out after the World Cup and openly criticised his tactics, selection etc.? When he or the players changed tactics we lost to Northern Ireland ? Mclaren has changed tactics and players and lost each time he has tried.

Thats not Boumsong. This one is http://www.myspace.com/jeanalainboumsongofficial

I feel its the closest we would get to someone of SBR`s talent for a while. If you think of who didn`t want the job when we ended up with Roeder. If you think of how shite England have become since he left, he was obviously doing something right. With the English media to answer to i`m sure he always played it safe in games first. I don`t know enough about his club record and how his teams played without that pressure.

I don`t drivell, must have been the way you read it out loud to yourself that made it sound like drivell.

5th best blah blah blah. Utter bollocks tbh Like your patter. The only thing I would disagree with Rebellious is we have the potential to be fifth best, the potential we have is limitless. I suppose SBR proved we have the Potential to be better than 5th, but that was before Chelsea got serious and Man Utd found the Glaziers. I agree the potential can be anything if Freddie changed his ways. SBR did well considering how FS medalled. 5th best blah blah blah. Utter bollocks tbh Where did I state we were 5th best simple sima ? Some twisted logic if you don't think the most after 4th is 5th tbh I wrote biggest, then in brackets not best outside the top 4.

I based the thread on him saying he wants to stay in England if he gets the boot. Logic dictates that we are the biggest ( not the best, or well run etc ) with the most potential outside the top 4. We spend the most outside the top 4. Wouldn`t be as much of a culture shock financially. Anyway linking him to us without that comment we all know would be ludicrous.

Not if its Roeder being slated, and Vic hears. Thanks you 2 for saving me the effort. I could have wrote that but Vic just spends all day looking for a reaction by completely missing points, probably on purpose to act the WUM. If not he is incredibly thick.

heard it all now. Manager to blame for player running into opponents You have just proved how crap your understanding of football is, not that the whole forum hasn`t realised how pathetic you are weeks ago.
-
I think the Zog will become a great player, not at this club or under this manager. He was frustrating when he played this season ? or was it the back of last. He kept recieving the ball and constantly ran into other players befoe releasing it. I would like him to stay but under a manager that can bring a player forward, something we have done the opposite of for many years.
-
lol. It was the fact he seems to hint that he wants to stay in England if he is booted out of Chelsea. Outside of the top 4 I think we are the only team that are under performing with potential. Out of all the clubs in the Premiership if he has ambition to prove he can suceed in the face of adversity then we are the challenge he would relish. If he could win something with us then that would put him up there as one of the greatest managers ever, lets face it many have tried and failed. Probably career suicide in reality. He was interested in the job before Chelsea but didn`t want to be number two to SBR.
-
Surely to an extent managers are in it for the money too. If we offered him a massive pay packet as we do with players just to get them up here it might work. Only if he was sacked of course and none of the top 4 wanted him yet. I`m not mental don`t worry. I would rather offer a top manager money than blow it on another Luque, boumsong or Duff. If you think of the potential Zoggy, Taylor, Edgar and Milner have under a coach like Mourinho it would pay back in the long term.
-
Yes the manager is responsible for getting the best out of each and every player, he identifies problem areas in that players game and gets his coaches to sort it if he han`t the time himself. The manager should certainly work on key players, as SBR did with Shearer. I was thinking that at the Arsenal game, Martins played the whole game with his back to goal.
