  1. I think if you watch the AZ's first goal you will see that in the first place it was more Bramble's mistake then Taylor's Bramble tried to leave one of the forwards offside, that didnt work out, then Hunty was slow to close the cross and after that it was mostly Taylor's fault that he didnt marked Arveladze who scored For the 2nd goal it was 100% Bramble's fault because he lost his man before the corner And finally the fact that Bramble was made the scapegoat is because he was doing this amateurs mistakes for 4-5 years already. It was time that he takes the blame(of course i dont support the idiotic manner of which Roeder criticized Bramble in public). Point is Taylor was shocking against Alkmaar. Who was worse is debatable but Bramble was made scapegoat. Taylor also conceded a stupid penalty at 4-1, which he's always liable to do with the habit he has of closing people down with his arms flapping at his sides to try and widen his body. Skeletor - Great tackle by Bramble. Dave - What a tackle from Bramble. Fucking ace. johnnypd - bad defending once again, saved by a top-class tackle by bramble. nufc 4 life - fucking hell bramble pure class Newcastle Fan - This is the best Tackle i EVER saw Bramble make The College Dropout - Well done Titus. Phil K - Just popped downstairs and saw a magnificent goal saving tackle from Bramble. Superb. Yorkie-Geordie - I'm usually the first to lay into Bramble, but he had about half a second to stop the ball from going in there. GeJon - Bramble made (imo) as good a tackle as you will ever see, that was a goal all the way without a complete fuck up of a finish or a world class save! markluk - that tackle was amazing Superb game, excellent tackle to stop the attacker clean through toonarmy - that bramble tackle was shockingly good Yorkie-Geordie - Practically perfect performance from Bramble. He was an absolute rock. His sliding tackles, his headers, his marking, everything - was fantastic. Thought he was a bit wayward for their first goal but other than that, he was just fantastic gray - bramble was pretty much quality tonight Wullie - I'm going to be Ronaldo-tastic and say Bramble's tackle was one of the finest I've seen in years Ronaldo - 4 excellent games in a row now for Titus. In terms of aerial and tackling ability, none of our other defenders can touch him. And when was the last time he made a notable error that cost us? Howaythelads - Well done Bramble. Had a really good game. Good job he didn't do what Taylor managed, otherwise we'd be on page 100 by now. Northern Monkey - Taylor: 5 - Wasn't a penalty, but got himslef lost a few times. Bramble: 7 - Best game for a while against decent opposition, but was positionally caught out a couple of times. Did well, though. Carr: 4 - get to fuck, you fat waste of space. Roeder, you're a cretin. CoachHTT - One of his best performances in a Toon shirt, that tackle was simply world-class, and had Terry made it... Decent distribution too. The list goes on. The point being he kept us in it in the first leg. The second leg if I remember rightly he messed up for one of the goals, but thats what players do apart from the the few wonder goals ( goal of the month comp ). Thats how goals are scored in football you know. Show me a thread like that about any of our other CB`s. Yet AZ was all his fault.
  2. hasn't the guy just bought a house, i really dont think he'll want to go anywhere Could just be an investment. Means nowt either way imo. mansion in medburn doesn't sound like an investment, especially when ur throwing parties in it left right and centre. The guy blatantly wants to stay in fairness. Hearsay tbh. And I don't see the club using his new house as a bargaining tool in negotiations so I'm not too sure about the relevence anyway. He had it built himself. Nothing to do with the club. Glenn was so up his arse at the start of the season he thought he was staying. Proves what a two faced wanker Roeder is. Regardless of Bramble being good enough or not Roeder would have known this from watching games before he was near the first team. Its probably that what has caused the disruption within the squad.
  3. Why not exactly? Because they don't fit in with your suspicions? Excellent piece of research NUFC06! They are not a great guide as there are so many more paramiters to look at. For example, how many of the games where Taylor and Ramage played was Harper in goal, Parker and Emre/Dyer in the middle and Luque on the left wing for example. Also who were the games against etc etc Stats in isolation make good reading, but are pretty meaningless really. Bit like saying Shearer only scored 6 goals (made up number) in the 97/98 season. Look at the bigger picture, he was injured until Feb Well if you watch enough NUFC games then you would know like we all do that we have conceeded against shite championship teams and not let in much against top opposition. As for the bit who was in the team with them, its fairly errelivant this season as the crapper players have probably put in better performances. We have never held the ball up in the top half weather it be Martins,Sibs or Dyer so they don`t count as a factor either.
  4. I think the stats are 95% true If there is some kind of mistake its because i might have confused some numbers,games,goals... Bramble-Moore=10 goals in 8 games Taylor-Bramble=9 goals in 13 games Best Partnership Ramage-Taylor=18 goals in 10 games Ouch Gooch-Moore=2 goals in 1 game Bramble-Gooch=4 goals in 4 games Ramage-Moore=4 goals in 3 games Moore-Taylor=5 goals in 5 games Taylor-Hunty=7 goals in 3 games Ouch Ramage-Hunty=2 goals in 1 game Taylor in the most conceeding combo and in the least conceeding combo, difference being he plays better with Bramble.
  5. to be honest, before the Alkmaar (a) game, he'd given good performances 5 times in a row Decent enough paerformances yes, maybe. but yesterday he was outstanding.. How can he be outstanding when he made two big errors in the first half and very nearly costs us a goal twice when he let kalou run past him!! Just because he made two hard tackles which get the crowd going he has played outstanding.....I dont get it! So Kalou, how much did he cost and how much will he be worth? I`m sure he didn`t LET him run past him. He was simply out paced by a far superior player. It does happen you know.
  6. Add Bramble, strange how they are all good friends. Maybe they know Roeder is not going in the summer and would rather go themselves. Wasn`t there something about Woody not joining because of Roeder.
  7. Lots of effort there. I know what the out come will be but not exact figures but can you let me know how many goals have been leaked by each CB partnership?
  8. Emre played how he did when we first signed him. Milner put in our best left wing performance that I can remember this season and Taylor was class. Bramble - see bramble thread. Mourhino in the aftermatch interview said we deserved to win and Taylor and Bramble were on top of there game.
  9. Taylor today was the best I`d seen him since he first burst on the scene. Definatly the future along side a top CB. Bramble today proved he should be kept as a squad player even if it is for the european games and top 4 where he plays well. Just drop him for the crap teams where he loses concentration. Lets face it what he did to Drogba he has done to Henry and van Nistrelroy in the past by him. Remember a squad player contract comes with squad size wages. I spoke to one of his friends today who says he is desparate to stay, not because its NUFC "the big team" lets face it were not but he really likes the club. Quality he took out Ballack in the first few minutes then put Drobga off with a similar tackle. Carr was also suprisingly normal compared to his usual poor displays.
  10. Probably in a swap deal with Saha, Brown for Owen. We like our injury prone players here!
  11. I agree that some of the criticism might be a bit over the top. But I am not sure, if Roeder really deserves praise for the likes of Butt and Sibierski. Butt is playing more to his usual standard (although I would still say he is miles away from the form he had a couple of years ago), so I don't think the manager worked wonders here. The same applies for Sibierski. Roeder got a couple of decent performances out of him, nothing less, but certainly also nothing more. Maybe Roeder deserves kind of praise for Dyer's short spell of good performances, which faded away quite quickly though. Of course a manager deserves as much praise for good performances from players as deserving criticism for poor performances. I still think the performances of Butt, Dyer, Sibierski are just in between. Maybe better than expected, still worse than they should be. If they were good, Roeder deserved praise. But they weren't. Why does he deserve no praise for Butt? He could have just gone with the fans and let him leave but he gave him a chance and let him know he was behind him and this has been repaid with performances that will probably make Butt player of the season. I am not claiming Roeder has made Butt the player he is but I thought the whole debate was Roeders handling of players? Player of the season in a team where most other players have played well below their standard. Butt hasn't excelled. All Roeder got out of him were "normal" performances. But anything less wouldn't have been acceptable. So all Roeder deserves, is not getting criticized for it, but praise? I do praise people for doing good things, not for doing average things. Any excuse not to give him any praise. Ok, you've got convinced me. Fair play to Roeder. He got decent performances out of an ex-England international. That was a hell of a job. Maybe even a miracle. Top bombing. HE IS DA MAN. ROEDER FOR ENGLAND! I am serious about the last bit by the way... If you can't give credit then fair enough but its plain for most to see Butt had lost his way a bit since leaving ManU but Roeder gave him the chance that many of us wouldn't and he has performed. I am sure if Rafa had got Fowler back to anything near his previous best you would acknowledge this achievement and not be spouting the "well done getting a former England international to his best" crap but then Rafa isn't our underfire manager is he? How do you know that Bruce didn`t sort his head out before he came back ? Like I said earlier I think with Butt its more of a case of if NUFC don`t want me i`m going to be playing in the championship so I better play well.
  12. Fixed that for you. Thats the worrying thing because nobody could get a team playing worse football on the eye than Souness people are thinking Roeder is better. The points total will be 6 higher for Roeder if we win against Chelsea and the other 2. Remember SBR lost a few of Souness`s games that season. Roeder has got this miserable total all on his own. If we lose to Chelsea and draw the other 2 we will be a point below souness season. We can talk about quality differences between the football on the pitch ( which hasn`t been that much better ) but right now I would rather be in Evertons or Boltons league posistion playing kack football.
  13. Not to mention the spectacular amount of money that Souness wasted. I'm no fan of Roeder (McFaul II) but to say he's as bad as Souness is completely wrong. The season I qouted for Souness was before he wasted all the money. I couldn`t use that season as Roeder took over part way through.
  14. Souness had injury problems too. Maybe the most he had out was about 8 whereas Roeder has had about 11 out at its worst. I agree Souness killed a good squad and that Roeder has steadied things. My point is should Roeder be doing better. As for the comments about Souness having Shearer, come on he was in is last year but Roeder has Martins who has probably scored more goals this season than Shearer and Bellamy did combined that year. They both had Dyer thoses 2 seasons qouted. He scored 6 goals both those seasons. He only played 4 more games for Souness than he has for Roeder so far
  15. I have never once said a player has played shit due to Roeder. I have said before the TEAM has played shit due to Roeder. There is a big difference. No, you said no-one had improved under Roeder. When i gave some examples this was put down to the player not the manager. Same difference tbh. They havn`t really improved due to Roeder though have they ? As I said further up Dyer said it was down to alot of work put in by Saunders. Sibs just got lucky and has looked as crap as before against big sides. Milner was let know that he was playing for his furture at SJP or elsewhere this season. Parker, Zoggy, Emre and Duff have all been a shadow of what they were before Roeder got here or their previous clubs. Parker and Emre offered nowt to the team under Souness. Cant see how their perfomances this season are 'a shadow of what they were' under Souness tbf. Dyer was tlaking about his finishing skills, not his running on and off the ball or his passing. Sorry got a bit busy there. I still doubt it was much to do with Roeder, he hasn`t been that different to the odd game under Souness. I will ask him later, not that I would put the reply on here but for my own peice of mind. Ask who? Dyer? Yes. Last time I spoke to him was on msn, well the misses was before the AZ game at home, he said he would score a goal to cheer her up. He did and was laughing about it the next day. I will pm you the answer. I`m just pretty sure Roeder has had nothing to do with the slightly improved Dyer. He was away down here pretty much all the time out injured with a specialist. Roeder didn`t get that much time if any to improve him before he played, therefore I believe he had nothing to do with it. What slightly improved Dyer? He's still the same no-end-product waste of money he has been for years. Yes thats what i`m saying, he hasn`t changed much since. I don`t feel Roeder has improved him. He has 3 assists and the same amount of goals in a few less starts. The slight improvement has come from him not Roeder.
  16. Looking at Roeders full season in charge and comparing it to Souness`s full season in charge. Both played these with "other managers squads" . Premiership Points Roeder 41 Points 3 Games left. With Souness Team 1 against Chelsea, he could end up with less points Souness 44 Points With Bobbys Team I feel Souness did the better job as he inherited on paper the worst squad compared to what Roeder inherited and has used. Both had massive injury problems all season and both did similar in the cups. Souness`s Team 04/05 Roeders Team 06/07 - Jermaine Jenas - Scott Parker - Alan Shearer - Obafemi Martins - Stephen Carr - Stephen Carr - Lee Bowyer - Damien Duff - Laurent Robert - Albert Luque - Andrew O'Brien - Oguchi Onyewu - Titus Bramble - Titus Bramble - Kieron Dyer - Kieron Dyer - Aaron Hughes - Paul Huntington - Craig Bellamy - Micheal Owen - Shola Ameobi - Shola Ameobi - Olivier Bernard - Olivier Bernard - Patrick Kluivert - Giuseppe Rossi - Nicky Butt - Nicky Butt - Robbie Elliott - David Edgar - Jean Alain Boumsong - Craig Moore - James Milner - James Milner - Steven Taylor - Steven Taylor - Amady Faye - Belozoglu Emre - Celestine Babayaro - Celestine Babayaro - Darren Ambrose - Nolberto Solano - Charles N'Zogbia - Charles N'Zogbia - Ronny Johnsen - James Troisi - Peter Ramage - Peter Ramage - Martin Brittain - Alan O'Brien - Michael Chopra - Antoine Sibierski - Lewis Guy - Andrew Carroll - Jamie McClen - Matthew Pattison So do you feel Roeder has the better squad on paper ? Should he have more points than Souness managed ? Due you feel he will get the 3 points to draw level with Souness ? Edit - Not sure why those 2 names appear out of line. Looks fine in preview.

Goals/Assists Kieron Dyer 2006/07 Season Totals Starts: 23 • Sub: 6 6 3 Roeder 2004/05 Starts: 29 • Sub: 10 6 0 Souness Not much difference tbh. Same amount of goals, 3 assists. That could be more to do with him having to find Martins instead of having to find Ameobi.
  18. I thought Tevez played superbly first half against Chelsea last night. Second half he went missing with most of the team when they went 1-4 down which is kind of understandable. It was sheer determination to get on the ball and make something happen.
  19. If he has said he wants to play shit, no clue football where we get very lucky when we win games and go down without a fight when we lose some people are going to have egg on their face!

Zog had his best form under Roeder if you believe some of the shite on here Ridiculous to claim Parker or Duff had any form to compare to before Roeder Emre has always been Emre tbh If my memory is right Emre and Prker were better players individually under Souness. Duff was certainly better at Chelsea. Zog was better under Robson and Souness than he has been recently.
