  1. I have never once said a player has played shit due to Roeder. I have said before the TEAM has played shit due to Roeder. There is a big difference. No, you said no-one had improved under Roeder. When i gave some examples this was put down to the player not the manager. Same difference tbh. They havn`t really improved due to Roeder though have they ? As I said further up Dyer said it was down to alot of work put in by Saunders. Sibs just got lucky and has looked as crap as before against big sides. Milner was let know that he was playing for his furture at SJP or elsewhere this season. Parker, Zoggy, Emre and Duff have all been a shadow of what they were before Roeder got here or their previous clubs.

  3. Dyer said it was down to his time with Saunders in a recent interview that has improved his game. Sibs scored a few goals against nobody teams, again honeymoon effect, finally got some first team football.
  4. Nothing to do with Roeder, Butt has done well mainly when Roeder had to pick Butt and Emre through no choice. I think he realised it was us or a championship side.
  5. Agreed. Had me laughing out loud there. Its true I don`t think anybody absolutley nobody has improved under Roeder.
  6. http://www.lukewhostalking.co.uk/2007/04/motivation_is_the_name_of_the.html I thought this was quite a good read. I see Glenn Roeder has delivered (another) dressing room dressing down after the 2-1 defeat and, according to well-placed sources, has apparently “spoken the strongest words of his time as manager.” Sadly, it doesn’t look as though Roeder’s rants have much of an effect on the pampered “stars” of the Newcastle dressing room. Didn’t he do the same after the Alkmaar defeat? How about the equally meek showings at Fulham, Wigan and Charlton, I’m sure United’s manager read the riot act then as well but still we get the same old dross. He has already made Titus Bramble the scapegoat for the Alkmaar defeat, but how long before he needs to single someone else out in the blame game? As for the absence of Bramble, the defence hasn’t done any better without him has it, but it still looks like it’s bye bye Titus. I wonder which four players Roeder was talking about when he said they weren’t trying hard enough at Fratton Park? Charles N’Zogbia?, Emre perhaps, possibly Damien Duff, although he went off injured so probably not? Stephen Carr? But what about Obafemi Martins? Look, please don’t think I don’t like Martins as a player because I do. He has got 17 goals this season and, by all accounts, was the difference between the two sides when Newcastle beat Sheffield United a week ago. He has scored some vital goals at vital times and, without him, I don’t think it’s stretching the imagination to say Newcastle would have been relegated this season. But I’ve also seen the Nigerian play in too many games when, in my opinion, he appears to be going through the motions and that needs to change if he is going to be a long term success at Newcastle. He was woeful in Alkmaar when he was supposed to be the star man and the Dutch were terrified of him and, generally speaking, he does not play as well away from home as he does at St James’s Park when there are 52,000 people watching. He will not be the first players to suffer away day lethargy - there are some who say the same thing about Nolberto Solano - but Newcastle and Roeder need him to do more. After all, he’s Roeder’s star signing and if the manager can’t motivate him he’s in trouble. But, it was while I was reading Roeder’s post-match comments over the weekend in my post-holiday glow, that it occurred to me that motivation is ultimately Roeder’s responsibility. He is right in some respects, players should be self-motivated given the money they earn and the clubs they represent, but the best managers manage to motivate every player, even the difficult ones with an attitude problem, or the lazy ones who are prone to going missing in difficult games. For me, forget tactics, it’s a manager’s inspirational qualities that really make the difference, especially when it comes to man management, because they bring out the best in every player. Look at Sir Bobby Robson’s handling of Laurent Robert and Craig Bellamy at Newcastle, or the way he treated Romario at PSV. His relationship was never easy with any of them but, more often than not, they played well for him. Look at Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho and the egos they have under them. In fact, look at Roy Keane’s motivational qualities at Sunderland. Then compare that to the way Roeder has handled Albert Luque, a player whose approach to the game can easily be compared to Robert’s. At the moment, Newcastle’s players are not playing well enough for the club, the supporters or its manager, but it is the latter who bares the burden most heavily on his shoulders. He has the remainder of the season to prove he can inspire in difficult circumstances and that means the games against Blackburn Rovers, Reading and Watford, not a glamour clash with Chelsea when everyone, to use football speak, will “be up for it.”
  7. I was also wondering at that age how much conselling he has had for the lose of his dad ? My younger brother went abit bad/mental when he accidently killed someone. Traumatic experiences have sorts of effects on people and if they aren`t treated correctly can spiral out of control.
  8. This whole "bad apple" thing ? Is it really soft up there or something ? Its just I was worried about possibly moving up there one day being a southerner I was worried about it being a bit violent. If some of the stuff that got them bad reps is so shocking up there I feel less worried. Bad attitude can be misinterpreted. People who have percived bad attitudes that have worked for me in the past have always been the most committed and hard working. Unless bad = lazy attitude.
  9. Shearer and Shepard and money convinced Owen. Maybe Souness due to Liverpool connections.
  10. You think Duff came here for Roeder ? Your deluded. He came for the money and his mates in the team. Martins has come from another country and would do anything to play in the premiership.
  11. If only life was as simple as that, obviously no chance that it could be wonderboys fault. probably not blameless, but Roeder is a fuckwit, he's proven himself more than capable of this. Its his job to keep talent like this. Not lose it. I blame Roeder for this one, on good info aswell. explain, please I could tell you but then I would have to kill you
  12. If only life was as simple as that, obviously no chance that it could be wonderboys fault. probably not blameless, but Roeder is a fuckwit, he's proven himself more than capable of this. Its his job to keep talent like this. Not lose it. I have yet to meet a french man that hasn`t got an attitude problem. I`m sure before Henry got really settled, the first few years he came across the same, also Anelka. I blame Roeder for this one, on good info aswell.
  13. I tried watching Championship football last week ( Ipswich ) and it was utter gash, so I would probably have to watch another club for pure footballing ability, something we have been starved of for some time now. Man Utd, ew didn`t like typing that.
  14. I said this a few weeks back, he hasn`t lost the whole dressing room but after the AZ game there was a certain player that took the blame unfairly imo that is close friends outside the game with Zoggy and a few others that Roeder has "blasted" just recently. The man is an idiot.
  15. Even though we played worse under Souness the players looked like they wanted to win for him. The players havn`t looked like they have cared about Roeder for some time now.
  16. He still has to pick up 3 points to level with Souness`s 44 points he got us. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/tables?league=eng.1&season=2002&column=none&order=false&cc=5739 This was upsetting to see too, the league table after 2002 us 3rd, the Mackems last. 1 Man Utd 38 25 8 5 74 34 16 2 1 42 12 9 6 4 32 22 40 83 2 Arsenal 38 23 9 6 85 42 15 2 2 47 20 8 7 4 38 22 43 78 3 Newcastle 38 21 6 11 63 48 15 2 2 36 17 6 4 9 27 31 15 69 4 Chelsea 38 19 10 9 68 38 12 5 2 41 15 7 5 7 27 23 30 67 5 Liverpool 38 18 10 10 61 41 9 8 2 30 16 9 2 8 31 25 20 64 6 Blackburn 38 16 12 10 52 43 9 7 3 24 15 7 5 7 28 28 9 60 7 Everton 38 17 8 13 48 49 11 5 3 28 19 6 3 10 20 30 -1 59 8 Southampton 38 13 13 12 43 46 9 8 2 25 16 4 5 10 18 30 -3 52 9 Man City 38 15 6 17 47 54 9 2 8 28 26 6 4 9 19 28 -7 51 10 Tottenham 38 14 8 16 51 62 9 4 6 30 29 5 4 10 21 33 -11 50 11 Middlesbrough 38 13 10 15 48 44 10 7 2 36 21 3 3 13 12 23 4 49 12 Charlton 38 14 7 17 45 56 8 3 8 26 30 6 4 9 19 26 -11 49 13 Birmingham 38 13 9 16 41 49 8 5 6 25 23 5 4 10 16 26 -8 48 14 Fulham 38 13 9 16 41 50 11 3 5 26 18 2 6 11 15 32 -9 48 15 Leeds 38 14 5 19 58 57 7 3 9 25 26 7 2 10 33 31 1 47 16 Aston Villa 38 12 9 17 42 47 11 2 6 25 14 1 7 11 17 33 -5 45 17 Bolton 38 10 14 14 41 51 7 8 4 27 24 3 6 10 14 27 -10 44 18 West Ham 38 10 12 16 42 59 5 7 7 21 24 5 5 9 21 35 -17 42 19 West Brom 38 6 8 24 29 65 3 5 11 17 34 3 3 13 12 31 -36 26 20 Sunderland 38 4 7 27 21 65 3 2 14 11 31 1 5 13 10 34 -44 19
  17. I just stole this from the icNewcastle forum. Its a list of what Roeder has blamed this season. The Fans The Media The Scouting System The Fixture List The Past Managers The History of the Club The Club Badge Ex-Manager's Players His Players Not Having His Players Negative People in General No Money The Transfer window FA Cup Replays Teams 'playing for a draw' Teams 'playing to win (ok, I added that one) And ofcourse INJURIES (which he never mentions, Ever)
  18. Does he actually not realise that if we were playing too our potential there would be no negativity. Is the man that fucking stupid ? Its not a case of us expecting too much ffs we even celebrated a draw against ManURe at home and Arsenal away, is that expecting too much ?
  19. If we get into Europe next season he will stay, if we fail again he will be off I reckon. He could go this season as only he really knows the answer to that, along with Freddie Shepard.
  20. As long as we don`t end up with another Boumsong from France and another Luque. I would hope he is going to Italy for the defenders and France for the midfielder.
  21. WTF! http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_headline=glenn-has-positive-mental-thoughts-&method=full&objectid=18908428&siteid=50081-name_page.html Does that make it our fault again this week ? Or a newspapers fault for the shit tactics and football we have to watch?
  22. Erm, why? If I could trust us to spend that money wisely I might be more inclined to agree with you but even so I wouldn't want him to go. Owen is consistantly injured, dont get me wrong, right now with no bid he is our savour, but a bid of £12million is a loss of £5million, yet it takes £110k off the wage bill every week. Martins is our main man now, hes playing in a s*** team all season, he is on the brink of 20 goals, he rarely gets injured, HE is the man we need to build this team around, with £12million we could sign another striker who will get 20 goals or more a season but wont be injured half as much as Owen. Look at the facts, Owen has been here 2 years and has made something like 11 appearences, THAT IS SHOCKING, world class or not we dont need a player who costs us so much money every week when he doesnt play. Like i said right now Owen is coming back and he is our saviour, but with his injury record, and with the fact that in a year and a half he is a free agent, plus the fact that he could jump to Liverpool any second, all these facts mean that right now if we got £12 million for him we should be laughing! I understand the whole Roeder thing, but lets not forget Roeder gave us Martins, im not defending Roeder or anything, but the fact that he gave us Martins makes me trust him somewhat in the transfer window in regards to buying a striker. Dont get me wrong btw, im a huge Owen fan and i love him being here, but £12million, guys i just cant stop thinking that his contract is up in 2 years and that he might stall on signing a new one. If we lost him to a free transfer id be gutted, even next summer clubs would be reluctant to bid high for him due to his contract ending. If this is true this will be the highest we will get for him should he want to leave, i think Shepherd needs to talk to Owen, find out weither or not he will sign a new deal. If not then sell. Any idiot who knows anything about football abroad knew Martins was a good fast player for a few years now. It was probably nothing to do with Roeder or our dumb scout. It was Emre saw Roeder crying into his cornflakes about needing a striker who then told the club about Martins. so everyone knew, doesn't that make roeder very good for beating them all to his signature.as for trying to make out that it was only cos emre told roeder. any proof of this or are you a bare faced liar ? The word probably in my post sort of makes the barefaced liar bit impossible. Can I just ask are you related to Roeder ? As for beating people for his signature, I wasn`t aware there were many clubs looking for a mini striker for 10mill. Liverpool had Kuyt, Chelsea Sheva, Man Utd didn`t want one, Arsenal had just got Walcott for their new small striker. Tottenham Berbatov. I can`t think of many other clubs in the prem with that sort of money. Also anyone knows that prem stars get more money than anywhere else that plays serious football and we pay the most outside the big 4. So how does that make Roeder special?
  23. I think it was you who recently defended Roeder and said that he must be our manager for next season Do you still think the same way?? About the thread its obvious for everybody that he is clueless Why play Moore when he is finished here? Why play Zoggy in that position when he was crap against Arsenal? Why dont you play Luque or Carroll alongside with Martins? Why do you play this s*** troll Carr every game? Roeder is even worse then Souness... Why play Moore when he is finished here? Because he's our least error-prone experienced central defender (which isn't much of an achievement, admittedly) Why play Zoggy in that position when he was crap against Arsenal? To give him a chance to play, since Duff's the first choice left winger, obviously. Why dont you play Luque or Carroll alongside with Martins? Because Luque's crap and lacks commitment. And Carroll's 17. Why do you play this s*** troll Carr every game? Because we have no one else that can play let-back. Simple really. Moore is slower than my granddad,he dont have any real motivation to play for us because he will be gone in 4 games. He is big injury prone and he proved that yesterday.Roeder should have played Gooch at the begining. The lad wasnt playing anything super but so far he didnt make any vital errors which was followed by a goal.He is far motivated then Moore because he is no loan here and he is fighting for his future here, for his contract, because he said that he wants to be here. And thats what kind of players we need here.Fighters who can show spirit and desire to play for this club It was obvious in the Arsenal game that Zoggy cant play upfront with Martins,he cant hold the ball, cant make the runs Dyers is making which i believe is Roeder intention to play him there. And why on earth when you see that something is not working you are continuing to do the same. That shows real incompetence and Roeder has alot of this As it proved after the game Luque and Carroll didnt played so badly as we all expected and if they were playing at the start of the game maybe things would have finished differently. So it was another mistake from Roeder not to play Luque or Carroll alongside Oba.We all know that Oba is struggling when he plays alone upfront Edgar. The lad has showed good potential in the few games he played for us but Roeder didnt see that as usual. He continued to play Huntington,Babayaro and Carr there although they were s*** as always of course. He should have give Edgar a chance long time ago but as a said earlier he is too incompetent to see this things And the last thing. Are you defending Roeder or what??? I agree Moore is s****, but Gooch is too. He has been responsible for 2 goals with poor play or getting turned. Charlton is one that springs to mind. For a big player he has no real jump either. I would have played Huntington over those too unless he is injured. Gooch wasnt too imppresive true but at least he has something to play for unlike Moore-wining a permanent deal When you mention Huntington i had rather play Edgar.I dont know why Roeder is picking Hunty over Edgar,he played superb and still Roeder plays Hunty who was terrible in the last games he played for us Hunty hasn`t really had many games in the CB position though has he. You agree though you would pick him over Moore and Gooch, because without seeing them in training so its hard to say for certain I would pick Hunty. Just on a side note regardless of Bramble not being good enough he is still better than those 3. We have still conceeded nearly triple the amount of goals with him out of the team as we have with him in and lost far far more without him. Regardless of the odd error we have lost more when we need points.
  24. aye glad someone agrees i would say get rid but i don't rate our chances of getting ferguson or wenger, the only two i could honestly beleieve would definitly get us where we think we should be....i wonder if some on here if they supported someone else would look on NUFC this season and think "tonnes of injuries f***** their season" exactly i don't bumfuck GR, but he has had a lot to deal with this season and TBh could Fergie or Wenger do any better with us this eason Stay of the glue mate its bad for you! Wenger has done better, 4th arent they? He has most of the season without Henry,Van Persie, Gallas, Ashley cole never got replaced niether did Sol Cambell, Pires or Veira really. Fabragas has been in his worse form of his life. Walcot has hardly figured. I`m not an Arsenal expert but i`m sure it may have been worse than that to be honest. A small squad like Reading have more injury problems than us atm aswell.
