congratulations that is the most ridiculous thing posted all day and there's been a hell of a lot of competition I didn`t see the game but it is possible to lose the dressing room if your in the press all week saying you want to get rid of all your players and that they are basically pussies with no bottle oh and maybe saying also that only 3 players are his! Also he blamed AZ on them and side stepped blame. How would you feel playing for this twat ? If it was me I would have along hard think about just which players have ever left newcastle for a bigger wage or team. We havn`t been a big team for a few years now, wake up. As for money i`m sure most of them have plenty now to not worry too much about taking a few grand pay cut rather than work at the NUFC circus. Regardless, if your boss have been slagging you off all week on the back of 2 very disappointing results your hardly going to go out and bust a gut. If you think your going your also not going to risk injury and not get bought.

Not sure, him and Bramble are very good friends outside of football, don`t know why neither were on the bench. Probably all round Luques house watching a DVD or something.

Who will Roeder blame today ? He can`t blame injuries, the ref or Bramble. So what will be his excuse ? How`d the match go ? I just got back from watching Ipswich win, kack football there too btw.

Piss take surely?? Not a piss take mate, its called football knowledge. Put Bramble in the Man Utd team and he would look as good as Brown, put Brown in our crap side and he would look as bad as Bramble. Can I ask you a question Baggio do you play computer football games ? I have always watched Man Utd in the CL and Brown has looked just as dodgey as Bramble without Ferdinand or someone of that quality next to him. Its no different to when Woody and Bramble played together. The defence as a whole looked good. Take out the top notch CB and things look different. No I don't play computer games. Can I ask you a question. Would you rate Bramble so highly if you didn't know him personally and send him a good luck text before every game? Your fawning over him is ridiculous. I've seen enough of both of them to know Brown is better than Bramble, if Bramble wasn't as thick as whale spunk and could concentrate for 90 minutes then he may be as good as Brown, but he is, so he's not. Btw I've never seen Brown look as dodgy as Bramble, at his worst Bramble is an embarrassment to the shirt, you won't find many (if any) Man Utd fans say that about Brown. Its got nothing to do with knowing him mate, I know quite a few at different clubs and NUFC, not just the one player. You can search the whole forum mate to see if I have ever said Bramble is excellant blah blah. If he plays shite I say, I have always said we need better. Go back to before the AZ game, i`m NOT the one giving him fucking 9 out of 10 ratings like most, in actual fact I think I mainly only ever post when other players have worse games yet its his fault still. Talking to a season ticket holder at Man Utd he reckons even Rio would struggle if he was in our back four. That is not a defence of Bramble just an opinion and an observation. He has seen Brown struggle before when paired with Silvestre or lesser. He has seen Brown slip, fall, misplace passes etc. My personal opinion, I think he would improve our defence, but in place of one of the youngsters. As someone else has said we need a communicator at the back, that is not one of Browns strengths.

He had a week break before the AZ away leg. He has been in Lagos playing for his country since, so he has less of a break this time round.

That has got to be the shittest news I have found out this year ! ITV and Shitanta great. Could some one please let me know what I have to spend now on Setanta to get what ? I take it I have to keep Sky Sports and also pay my TV licence for BBC regardless of them now not showing football. Shearer will have less work now won`t he ?

He is talking about poor attitude, not poor passing or movement so it won`t be Parker as a good atitutde is all he has going for him.

So we needed a RB a LB niether of which played in those games. Moore is going anyway. 3 players that were shit in both games were SIB, Solano and Duff. We would need a CB regardless of Bramble going or staying, so I would say 2 CBs if hes going.
-
So if we let 3 go we then need about 6-8 players in the summer. Have we ever brought in that many before ? It means another year of a non- gelled team that don`t know eachothers game.

I didn`t write the article mate, like Dave said its open to anyone with an opinion. I started off with posting it as it said Damage was the worst of all. Someone else picked up on the Bramble thing. I must admit I was suprised aswell to see him as 1. Thats not my point anyway, I know that he hasn`t been the worst CB this year but is treated as such.

http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/journalsport/tm_headline=star-shay-waves-off-criticism%26method=full%26objectid=18818810%26siteid=50081-name_page.html Glenn Roeder will keep a close eye on Given's performance. The Irishman suffered an injured knee in a collision with Craig Bellamy at the weekend but, having missed Monday's training, he has been passed fit to face the Slovakians. Obafemi Martins has returned from Nigeria, with sources in Lagos claiming the striker required treatment at the weekend for an unspecified injury. Oguchi Onyewu has also returned from the United States. First-team training will resume tomorrow morning and Steven Taylor will play a prominent part. The defender missed the latest England Under-21 international with a calf complaint but has declared himself fit for this weekend's Premiership game against Manchester City. "I've been training this week and thankfully there has been no reaction," he said. "I will be okay (for Saturday's game). It's a massive game given our recent results and we need to win if we're going to push for Europe."

Surely your talking about Shay Given there ? Given and Bramble. As bad as one another in terms of distribution, but there's little doubt as to who makes the more positive overall contribution. I would say the only 2 players that havn`t been aimlessly punting it to no one this season are Nicky Butt and Keiron Dyer. Seriously mate, Bramble's long aimless punts are one of our biggest problems imo. Which is why I can't understand why no one on the coaching staff has bothered to tell him to stop. Saying "well other people are doing it too" is firstly not a defence, and secondly, NO ONE is doing it to the extent that idiot boy is. I know you're mates with him, but I just the lad is bereft of any brain power at all. If I kept pumping the ball long like that, and every time I did it the cries of derision came from the crowd, I'd think "You know what, I might stop doing that." Not Titus. HOOOOOOOF! Goal kick. HOOOOOOF! Throw in. HOOOOOOF! Defender heads clear. Rinse. Repeat. Maybe some one needs to tell him Shearer isn`t in the team anymore lol, I know as FACT that Shearer was a big fan of Brambles long balls forward and would get into space and look out for them. I still believe that if we had a better forward it wouldn`t be such a problem. Everytime our defence get the ball the midfielders are either too close to the defense marked or not in space.

Yes it is opinion based and I will side with SBR on this one. I feel because of the expected progression that didn`t happen, as with most youngsters at our club he gets more critisised. The same in time will happen to Taylor. People are right and I agree he is not top 6 material and never will be but I can`t help but get pissed off with the over exageration compared to ther players. Its his own fault tbh he should have moved on 2yrs ago.

Parker and others play worse balls closer to our goal that gives away possession closer there fore putting us under more intense pressure.

You should have words with HTT then for letting people out right lie on the front page of our website.

Agreed Ramage has got to grips with the LB position out off all the CB`s tried there, doesn`t make it any less painful to watch.

Somebody who obviously studies the game for faults so he can then write about it for the front page. Not that hard to work out is it ? Is it hindering your ability to blame Bramble for everything. Funny thing is before the away leg at AZ he had been our best CB for 5 games consistantly with Taylor taking the flack. He made that superb tackle everyone was going on about. Then he is fault for one of the goals at AZ in what was a bad team display by everyone, dropped against Charlton where we still conceed 2 goals and its all his fault. Agreed he is not top 6 class but who is in our team ?

I think you're being too kind to Souness (spit), he was no better than Roeder, I think time heals. Maybe, lets see where we finish this season. I think Souness was hated more because he ruined us where as Glenn has steadied us but not actually improved us. Like you say i`m probably thinking this way because of the fading memories.
-
Bollocks, no other manager would have done better. I can think of a few who probably would have done better. Maybe he meant no other manager that actually wanted the job would have done better. We lose to all the crap teams. All the big teams we have drawn against or beaten have been through luck. Anytime he has had choices we have lost. I`m starting to dislike the man more than I did Souness. At least we won with him when we had players fit and lost when we had no one fit. It seems to be the other way round with GR.

Some more of the Roeder interview is now online.
Rebellious replied to BottledDog's topic in Football
"It's just impossible to succeed with a team which has had more than 20 different combinations in the back four. These aren't excuses, they are facts. The teams that do well have consistency. "They don't have changes week in, week out, they play with the same 14 or 15 players in the league." Yet, for many supporters, Roeder's words are still nothing more than excuses for failure; a weak apology for a season which was destined to fail when two transfer windows opened and closed without the signings needed to strengthen a squad short on quality and numbers. Yet he still blames the players for his mistakes when things go wrong tactically. Some of them combinations have been his fault too.
