The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Postecoglu told to rack off by Spurs

That’s an offensively short-sighted decision. Their entire squad and playing philosophy (and trajectory) was based on Jokanovic. -

I will never tell people off for going to watch. What I would say is that the “support your side through thick and thin” unwritten rule is - surely - based on the premise that your club is trying to win; or at least compete. Call me Vulcan or autistic or pretentious or weird, but in my mind if he treats my club as a business; then I will respond like a customer. The product is shit and I won’t invest my time and money. That’s what I’d ask our match-going fans to think about. He’s changed the parameters of the very notion of supporting a club. Reacting the same way you always have - which is entirely admirable in some respects - no longer appears logical, intelligent, productive or even appropriate. -
Just think the players seem completely flatlined by it. We see it each cycle of relegation, “consolidation”, decay and relegation. Players realise they’re not playing for an actual sporting institution; just a massive billboard. Not even a man of upstanding moral fortitude and belief like Rafa can fight the tide. It’s really sad watching something I love so much get hollowed out in the name of comparatively minor profit.

Well we got a penalty against Cardiff that easily could not have been given but we missed that. Also, Yedlin did lead with his elbow today. The penalty was not a penalty and the free kick was wet lettuce but it’s not like total period flow against us

Call a spade a spade: another predictably frustrating and self-undermining window which leaves us with a long season ahead and more questions than answers

Imagine that being the first fan you meet after being stuck in a room with Lee Charnley. Poor chap may think he’s ended up in Mordor

If they really wanted him to sign they could just have bought the players he asked for and his signature would be on the contract by now. It's obvious bullshit. Of course they don't want him long-term - him staying necessarily means we become competitive and expectations are raised accordingly, which runs contrary to our purpose as a club that serves as one massive Sports Direct advert to a global audience. The managerial strategy will be to continue to gamble on whichever name is available to keep us afloat, and only spend serious money if we go down. That Rafa fell into their lap was just a helpful bonus that ensured some semblance of continued (comparative) success and therefore more exposure for Sports Direct. I would wager good money that Ashley's view is that some vaguely capable manager will always be available, with more money released the less capable they are.

Yup. Experienced player who knows the league and has worked with Rafa before. Not the most exciting signing but CB signings for squad depth rarely are. Newcastle signings rarely are

Ryder simultaneously reporting that bid has been accepted and fee not yet been agreed.

That green light for 3 players tho

But then we could not have signed Schar to leave Mike in profit.
