As bad as the league is, if the club spends just 5 million and persists with Carver, I think NUFC will be looking at anywhere between 16th and 19th next season IMO.
  3. Relative to the perceived quality of the individuals in the squad and the stature of English football in the CL during those years, maybe?

Impairments on Bigi, Gouffran, etc and all other ruined players?
  6. Wor Hugo? Never hit the heights but didn't hit the deck all the time or anything either. Eusebio seemed sound too.

He doesn't need to withdraw the money for it to be his gain any more than you need to head to an ATM for your money to be yours.

Should be other areas of the club, you bellend.
  9. Well put, and agree. Doesn't overthink things.
  10. England do produce good prospects IMO, but they play in teams with the wrong mentality (a Pardewesque "run faster, be stronger" mentality) and if they don't adapt, they don't play. The only team where that's not true is Arsenal, but unfortunately those players tend to be made of glass.
  11. Still reckon Kane will fade away after this season. Good asset on Spurs' hands though. ££££ for Levy.
  12. The quality of candidates in this feature really highlight what a steaming pile of dogshite the league is: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9777914/terry-kompany-koscielny-who-is-the-premier-leagues-best-centre-back
  13. The last one their pictures shouldn't be allowed next to each other
  14. Our season ended about two months ago, he should have sent Sissoko and our higher wage earners tbh.
  15. I've fallen for nothing man. It's exactly what they said was the approach 4 years ago. I hated it then and I hate it now, but at least it's reaching the point where we can buy without selling. The only people fooled will be the likes of Lovenkrands and Ryder in the chronicle today saying "Ashley needs to spend more", as if Ashley has an epiphany and decides to get more adventurous. That would be bollocks. It's been interminably slow growth and will continue at a similarly incremental way. He's not put a penny in for 5 years and nor will he ever again. It's not any kind of silver lining though, because the silver lining is underpinned by a complete lack of ambition. It's completely meaningless.
  16. Koeman or Mourinho IMO. Although I do agree that only bias would lead you to believe he's not done a good job with Palace so far - which will attract praise for him from the media. It doesn't change who he is/was as a manager, but you'd have to be glutton for punishment to continue following him waiting for his demise with the squad he's inherited at Palace. It's a great squad for this shit league. Wouldn't be surprised if the big fall never comes because this season (and in all likeliness spells of next season) will become his new "fifth", which he and his old boy media mates will always judge his tenure at Palace by, ignoring all else... he's not Carver levels of bad, he never has been, but he's certainly a) not a top manager capable of building an attack or a decent defence b) a much bigger bastard than lots of managers who are poorer than him [ie. the Carvers and Warnocks of this world] ...just be glad the snake in sheep's clothing isn't at your club. The paucity in good managers and honest mainstream punditry is such that, for me, it's really not worth your time following his career any further - you're just hurting yourself. Football's all fucked tbf, not much worth following any part of it tbh

i suspect this is the real answer Probably with the auditors man
  18. Oops, meant to quote Peppe.
  19. Good question, think he was in favour prior to an injury.
  20. He's our fourth highest league goalscorer this season with a devastating two goals. [/tongue firmly in cheek]
  21. Barca are okay (I think). Not sure if there's a clever way to lay a treble of Barnet, Burton and Norwich though. Hopefully two out of the three pull away from the pack in the next 3-4 games. Just realised you're going to be one of those bastards whose slip is going to plastered over social media and forums
  22. Are you planning to hedge with Norwich in any way then? Would be a massive shame if you got less than £400 on the basis of them dropping away.
