No faith in the FA to do the right thing in terms of consistency and dock them a point. Complete joke of a governing body. So glad they got outcorrupted by Fifa on the World Cup hosting rights palava.

Such a shame you only see that stuff in blogs and forums, and not papers with a wider readership. -
Maybe next year Mourinho

There's no philosophy throughout the club where a youngster could come into the side and know exactly how the players around him would be playing, this is because we change tactics all the time etc. I don't think any investment would be geared towards the development of a team of players, or even groups, but more for individuals (with strong athletic abilities and workrate rather than technical skill)
-
Those quotes alone don't seem damning. It wouldn't surprise me if Ashley was actually investing well on the academy - as it'd mean he'd get more Carroll-esque paydays and avoid more signing fees - though with Pardew, I don't know how anyone youngster could break into the first team, so it's all a bit self-defeating even if there is some genuine good work going on at youth levels.

Partridge.gif As if it'll be anything other than the usual calamitous affair: Tiote's new CM partner will be stuck in Botswana pending the resolution of VISA issues, Shola will score 3 in the tournament (2 tap-ins and a penalty) and cement his starting spot for the first five games of the season (the placatory signing of a new striker will be needlessly late to save Ashley £50k, and he'll only secure a starting spot by October) and the team won't display a semblance of fitness/sharpness until mid-November, by which point they'll have to contend with working under Pardew's "tactics" - who, incidentally, by that point will be saying they're all energyless.

Rooney's done him a kipper there.

Thinking this throughout. Fucking Guardiola ruined them man.

Great news for Pardew, this. "They was on a high after the Bayern game, we was a bit nervous" "Momentum from midweek victory really helped, we're missing Europe a bit this year..."
-
This is hilarious

France - meant major tournaments. He's been to, what? 4 or 5? Made an impact in none. He's much better at club level, but no where near as impactful against top sides as Robben is, yet seems to receive a higher billing. He works hard and has less eye-catching aspects to his game, and that's great, but he's never been in the 'devastating' category for me.
-
Haven't seen him in any big games then I guess. Not sure about that. Hardly shines for France, rarely the star Bayern man on big club occasions either.

So fucking frigtening popping it around on the edge of Man Utd's box
-
Although I reckon Welbeck will have a good game. Tailor made for him.
-
Bayern haven't exactly tanked anyone away from home in the CL this season (IIRC) and Man Utd will set up like a 'Mourinho-style-underdog side in Europe', but still you can't look past Bayern for the win tonight. Even a draw seems hugely improbable ot me. 90 minutes is an awful long time to be carried by just Rooney
-
Bet some of you would still be calling for Pardew's head even if he took us to the fourth round of both cups. Judge him at Christmas after he's had a summer to get his players in, not Carr's uncommitted foreigners.

Bayern -1 as a single is 23/20!
-
Bayern/Real Bayern -1/Real -1 80-20 split of stake.

That day isn't coming, reefa. It'd have come and gone if it was ever due. IMO.
