Please use the match thread now guys: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,91120.0.html

No. Just manager-spiel to placate the fans/media/everyone.

I'm still in mild disbelief Lovenkrands is starting. Yet it's very, very real. And quite believable, too. Meritocracy my arse.
-
Pardew has bitched out completely here. Lovenkrands was his "safe" choice. All his talk about beating a top side at home, taking the game to them etc - all undermined by his actions. Bosingwa isn't even starting ffs.

I'm still so profoundly disappointed in how Holland set up in that match. It was so intrinsically un-Dutch. Thought they played the more attractive football over the tournament (well, behind to Germany/Argentina) too. I guess the fear of playing Spain's possession football drove them to it.

So glad Colo is still tied up until 2013. Not that he'll be immune from purchase, but still - can you imagine the vultures swarming if his contract were to end in May.

.com's SJP-themed advent calendar is a nice touch

Not the same one, but as good as: https://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/?id=MN8PKOK8GQ0RS438VG2A50N6L8#anchor

Interesting choice. Was considering it myself, but Pardew will "haul" him off after 65 minutes when we're 2-0 up.
-
Captain choice is tough this week. Adebayor, RVP, Ba, VdV, Silva, Ben Arfa... Leaning towards RVP. His one-game drought must be bound to end at some point, Shirley.

Fucking love the Ameobis, man. What a family. Top professionals and so darn affable!

I'd Fumaca her brains out.

Timeline so far: 1. Ronaldo doesn't rate Pardew over Phil fucking Brown. 2. Pardew is appointed. 3. Pardew is better than Hughton from day one. (ie. before any person who wasn't being contrary/WUMing for the sake of it, could reasonably change their opinion on a manager OR Ronaldo decides to form an opinion which is the most contrary he can think of/attention-garnering: Pardew > Hughton) 4. Ronaldo encounters difficulty with his decision to be contrary as Pardew makes mistakes playing Lovenkrands OR Ronaldo's belief in Pardew somehow manages to increase - despite well-documented frustrations with his decision-making. 6. The present - Ronaldo tries to sell people on the idea he isn't an idiot or a WUM.
-
Smilies? What have you done with the real madras?
-
Benfica lost though.

Main: Man City Spurs Side: Ba, NUFC win, 2.5+ goals (6/1 by itself) Man City -1 Man Utd -1 Spurs RVP to score Napoli £9 returns £1101

So roughly £45k a week? Seems vaguely plausible, I suppose.
