  1. It was a friendly palm-strike of approval. But yeah. Or the face. Repeatedly.
  2. They'll lose at SJP and Anfield.

I know, right? Why would he choose such a low-resolution picture?! Anyway, just remembered how sad he looked when he looked substituted when the game was lost. Think he took the loss really personally (lots of inference from my part, here!) - which is nice to see (in a way).

    Pressure off?

As Ronaldo said, winning against Chelsea is a possibility. Also, having Norwich, Swansea and WBA next will be a big help. After the top 4-5, all other games are of similar difficulty IMO. Which is pretty difficult, but I see what you mean. Very much winnable.
  5. Good start for the eventual blurb-writer would be a comprehensive list of all signatures (if you know who they are).
  6. Safety smiley always takes the edge off it, but then you risk posters thinking you're serious. Choppy waters.
  7. Can't those bastards not just poach Diame ffs. Or do they gain more from poaching from their rivals?

    Dan Gosling

Why does that statement seem pejorative now? Our top goalscorer last season. How quickly things change. Anyway, I agree with your post - but in a very positive way. Frequently forays forward, often to good effect, as he has a knack of getting goalscoring opportunities. Like CMs that aren't afraid to gamble on chances. Very difficult to defend against as opposing CMs won't always track those runs that far into their own box. Reserving judgement on his overall play until I see more of him. Seems decent though.
  9. The decision made the right call under the current rules. The rules are wrong though Even before he had touched the ball, I can't say how anyone can say Aguero was "passive" in that play (or whatever they're calling it) if our defenders were directly responding to his movement/lack of movement. Why was this "phase of play" stuff brought in, anyway? We're not American ffs. We don't have "plays"! If a striker is too tired/lazy to jog back on-side, his team should suffer if the ball is played through to a different player while the first player is still offside. The current ruling is shit.
  10. Harper saved one that won us the (only in history iirc) penalty shootout against Watford in the CC in 2006/2007 under Roeder. Can't remember it, sadly. Take your word for it though
  11. What for? Genuine question. If it was the final pay-off required to get our stadium name back and for Ashley/Llambias to fuck off, then maybe. No assurances the next owner would be any better mind you. Otherwise, don't see the point whatsoever.
  12. Given was fucking terrible at saving penalties - maybe because he was so short, it was difficult for him to intimidate opponents into taking poor penalties by trying to hard to put into the corner. Can't remember Harper saving any either Have a bit more hope for Krul, as he's quite tall and very agile. Just needs to work on his pre-penalty posturing and be decisive/pick a direction to dive.
  13. Shut up, Pardew.* * If those quotes are true. May as well roll the guy up in Christmas wrapping paper, with a ribbon and a 'for sale' sign.
  14. That logic seems faulty to me, but appears to be in line with Pardew's thinking. Explains why Ben Arfa has struggled to get into the team (other than for CC outings) until Best got injured. It's dithering in my mind. The dialysis is as follows, IMO: Cons: We lose the continuity of having a solid and settled back four in the short-term. We lose having a "known" quantity at left back. We lose some set piece ability (but with Cabaye around now, not as big a loss) We lose a really committed player who throws his body on the line (often to crucial effect) Pros: We gain a better footballer at left-back long term. We get back to having the continuity of a solid back four quicker (once Santon is settled in his role) We free up Jonas Gutierrez to doing the job of one man again. We play better football from the back, which is of benefit to our forwards who generally won't prosper from long balls. Four points each, but the weight of the "Pro" points dwarf the "Cons" for me. The sooner we move onto Santon the better. Raylor is a man and a well paid professional. He should have no problem dropping to the bench. It's laudable that he'd want to start, and long may it continue, but Pardew's care of duty is to the team playing good, winning football - not playing happy families.
  15. Still gutted by that DNB Bayern result - think everything else came through on that accy (/fully expect Spurs to win on Monday ). Would have been about £400 profit. Should have trusted our resident German gambler. It didn't even add that much value to the slip.
  16. "Phwoar, he's hot." "He's hot, but so is his mate." What show am I watching?!
  17. What a twat Gervinho would have looked if RVP wasn't there Edit: He still looked like an idiot.
  18. Fucking hell. The only "facepalm"-worthy opinion is the one that states dropping Raylor/keeping Raylor in the side is definitely the right thing to do and the opposite viewpoint is absurd.
  19. What shit, bullshit analysis from Hansen.
  20. Bunch of cheats though, like. Complete set of wankers.
  21. Good post. Did the stewards nab the knob who threw the firework?
