Colo is a class player but in stereotypical South American style he can play dirty if things aren't going well. The Bolton / Elmander game a couple of years back springs to mind. Whether he changed his mind at the last moment in the red card incident on Sunday or he just missed him, there was intent and malice there and it was a red card in my view. Don't know if they have history as Colo was gunning for him all game. Either that or he just wanted to play some Europa games.

Club Brugge vs Newcastle United - 08/11/12 @ 6pm GMT (Live on ESPN)

Think it might be as above but Ferguson at LB and maybe Marveaux instead of Anita as Anita will play in midfield on Sunday. Possibly Shola not Cisse for the same reason. -
Did what he was bought to do - breaking up their play with his reading of the game and improving our passing and all retention. Probably helped as LFC pay a Dutch type of possession game (badly).

Newcastle United vs. West Bromwich Albion - 28/10/12 @ 3pm

It will be Williamson because he's played we'll recently and because we have to stop Olsen in the air at set pieces. Handling their pace on the break is about team shape. Think it will be Perch alongside cabaye and Jonas in midfield. Also think he'll go with Cisse over Shola just because of the away game last year but that's a call for Pards. -
Struggled so far but there's many a player come into the league and had a mediocre first season. Pires comes to mind. I'll judge next year.

Best nufc player I've seen since I went to my first game in 1972. I base that on his clever assists, skills to beat a player, goals tally but mostly because he was a great team player who always gave his all. It was sad to see him leave for Liverpool but understandable from his need to have a chance of winning honours. The season he had up front at Liverpool with Aldridge and Barnes was unforgettable, I'm glad he got his medals. When he came back I thought Keegan had made a mistake as he'd just had a so-so season with Everton but he kicked us on to a new level - Andy Cole doesn't get all those goals without him. For the record ( correct my memory if wrong) I saw his debut as a sub away to Barnsley in 198? and you could tell straight away he was going to be special. Goal away at Portsmouth that season is my favourite - had an open goal having gone round the keeper and still through another dummy to beast a last lunge and walk the ball into the net.

Newcastle Utd 0 - 3 Man Utd - 07/10/12 - post-match reaction from page 38

Well I thought Pards got the full back selection right but got it wrong going 442. It might have worked last season but yesterday we needed to be solid in the middle. Thought he bottled the decision as to who to put on the wing too. Having said that it is our poor passing that is killing us at present. My other comment is that I sit in the East Stand and was directly behind the Cisse header. I obviously couldn't tell if it was over the line - but what I saw is the header flick Evra's hand before it hit the post. Anyone else notice this? -

Anyone else think the ball just might have not been over the back of the line? -
I was surprised that when Simpson went off and we moved to 433 that we didn't put Jonas at RB as there was a lot of space for the RB and he could have attacked from there leaving Bigi and Anita to sit deep and try and control midfield.

After all his year's great service Shay wasn't sticking around to be part of the Kinnear revolution and I don't thing he or anyone can regret his decision to leave. -
Nail your colours to the mast - where will we finish?
morpeth mag replied to Dave's topic in Football
I would not be surprised if that happened tbh. Don't think they'll unsettle last season's top 7, and could see someone like Fulham, QPR, Swansea, etc. overtaking them. Went for this but 6th as we'll pip Arsenal -
Thought the four days in question were Thursday to Sunday -how did we get to two?

I half suspect that we've been touting Tiote around all summer, and our failure to offload him for big money may have held up everything else. Agree with this. Tiote is not a £20m player, good that he is.

Hope Debuchy smashes in a 30 yard og tomorrow to send Copenhagen through on away goals forcing through his immediate sale. If only Heineken scripted games.

The guy on the left was quite good about 20 years before that photo was taken. -
Mine arrived last week as promised!

Somebody will be investigating all the money we get from Sports Direct next.

We find out how much the other team wants then divide by two. Find out how much the player earns and multiply that by two. Then we wait. And wait. Then pounce. We are happy. The player is happy. And the other club hates us.

Clearly the dominant centre half who'll get us 8 goals a season that Pards wants. -
