Matter of opinion though. Which I guess the definition and use of "lucky" is as well, tbf. I sit near the half way line and had a good side on view. To my mind Whelan kicked the ball away and deserved his yellow. I thought Cabaye was lucky not to also get yellow as he took the opportunity to have a nibble at Whelen which caused the spat. The only lucky thing I can say is that players kick the ball away frequently without getting the yellow the rules prescribe.

It's a question of who needs who more. The newspapers need football for circulation but clubs need the press to ensure coverage of the game. I personally think it's a bad/short term move by nufc as the printed press is under enough threat already from the net based media, the exclusives on offer are poor copy and in this recession seats at games need to be sold. Clubs make so much from TV, taking money from the press seems petty. So it comes back to an attack on the coverage of the nufc protests. I hope this will give us a free press willing to report on all events with an open mind.
