I wouldn't read anything into it. Strachan is under huge amounts of pressure from the press and supporters up here for his bizarre squad and team selections. That late goal did nothing to hide the fact that he's a woeful manager.

Agreed. It's very hit or miss with him from what I can see. Unfortunately you don't tend to get away with that playing at centre half.

This was sent to me this morning by a mate I went to Uni with who comes from Belgium and has been an Anderlecht fan for 35 years. Make of it what you will, I personally know nothing of Anderlecht but he knows them inside out.

Apparently in the women's game anything within about 30 yards of the goal is a penalty.

Sickening. It was completely undeserved. The penalty decision that gave them the equaliser was the sort of soft penalty you see at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea need a goal with five minutes to go. Ball crossed from two meters away into a trailing arm behind a player who had lunged to try and get a block on the ball. No intent, a natural movement and a gift to let Germany back into the game.

He wasn't in the starting lineup.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Jonas picks himself when fit unfortunately therefore it's unlikely we'll be seeing any of that line-up outside of FIFA14.

I'd give Claude Puel a chance. He'd be a cheaper option than most out there and despite three average years at Lyon he had 6 fantastic years in turning Lille around and has now taken Nice from relegation candidates to the top six. He is used to working without a great deal of money and also plays attacking football. His philosophy is more about playing a style of football (movement, passing, utilising width and wingers) than simply picking up results and he always sets out to win football matches regardless of the opposition.

I'm not convinced about that. Every manager that has come to this club seems to play him. Contract clause that he must get minutes on the pitch surely.

We didn't deserve to win. As soon as we scored we went back to the recent tactic of trying to play without the ball which just invites pressure on a back four that can't deal with it.
