  1. When you get to Kansas City you'll see how far from desolate it actually is. Very cool city. edit: Also, it's about a 10 hour drive if you swing down through St Louis (which I recommend). Flying I think, so no car. Any idea where to stay?
  2. Not to worry, if these Ligue 1 players we have and havent signed yet are anywhere near as good in the Premiership as they are in this forums imagination then we'll be fine.
  3. This is the ground for the friendly against KC next month? Looks nice.
  4. Has Capello really done a bad job? England qualified easily for the last World Cup and lost in the knock out stage to a much better team. They look like qualifying for the next tournament (in all likelihood) where they will probably lose to a better team. Unless they get a lucky draw and fluke it. They have better than average players and get better than average results. His biggest failing seems to be managing a bunch of genuinely unappealing human beings like John Terry, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole.
  5. The next time im out of a job, im going to start a social media and web PR consultancy specifically targeting football agents and reps. They pay me, I start enough rumors on Twitter and amateur tribalfootball sites and guarantee xx number of twitter mentions, so they can prove to their thick as shit left back from Millwall that the big move is on its way etc. Bonus if it bleeds into mainstream press.
  6. Bought a ticket to Kansas City, because tickets in the south end for the Columbus game seem sold out. No idea how I'm getting there, where I'm staying or, quite honestly, how far away it is from here. Why pick friendlies in the most desolate places in the country?
  7. Like Barton and Young is going to make that much of a difference.
  8. And it was entertaining I thought. No good blaming Capello. England just aren't that good.
  9. What is the point of Darren Bent
  10. Blatter recommends Henry Kissinger to lead his anti corruption efforts.
  11. 2014 Brazil could be fun. The next two will be shit, withdraw from them.
  12. Just wiki'd him. Seems like a real winner. Football is run by caricatures of Bond villans.
  13. Corruption and lies, sure. The power only stems from adidas, Nike, Coca Cola and other corporate event sponsors. Cut them off and they go away. They don't have a line of income that doesn't stem from tournament sponsorship, video games etc. And that comes from the voluntary participation of players and nations they don't own. Just don't go to Qatar. Decline to participate. Shoe companies and fizzy pop manufacturers aren't going to pay Sepp & Wagner if Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France. England etc. opt out.
  14. I find it hard to support Barca. They just seem like show offs.
  15. Maybe a bit harsh. The performance against west brom improved, sort of.
  16. Finish top half, above sunderland, that was his goal. He didnt meet it. The very best you can say about Pardew is that he is a disappointment, not a disaster.
  17. Gone backwards and failed in his two objectives for the second half of the season. By any fair standard a disappointment.
  18. Everyone knows exactly what Stoke are about, especially at home. So what exactly was Wenger's plan here? Wilshere, Walcott, Arshavin....all dwarves with no strength. He doesn't have a plan B for those boring weekend when you have to go to Stoke or Wolves and grind something out.
  19. From a purely footballing point of view, Arsenal aren't very good at defending.
  20. Haha....I swear it went into slow motion after Barton played that pass.
