  1. By any measure, he's an amazing prospect and the sky's the limit at the moment with this young lad. Been so very impressed with him. No doubt having his big brother at the same club and that sibling rivalry has pushed him and will keep pushing him (/Rafa). Keeping both together is going to be good for their development. It almost seemed a lazy comparison with Scholes, after his first goal, and I think it was premature. But if there was one thing that Scholes had that this lad seems to also have, it's that fantastic off-the-ball awareness, to be in the right places at the right time to get those goals. Combine that with a great engine, I never see the lad stop running, and he's going to be very important. Ideally, I'd like to see him running less with the more experience he gets. The best players don't need to run, they are just where they need to be nearly all of the time. Like when Dummett had that crazy top speed stat a few years ago, because he has to sprint like a mad-man to recover his position if he over-extends. If he had a better footballing brain, he'd not need to do that.

    Joelinton

How many times have we bought an actual good/clearly talented British player? Shelvey? Maybe Ritchie at a stretch? I'm sure we could have got Ings away from Southampton for less than £40m in the summer. Come to think of it, we could have got a Match-fit Danny Drinkwater, Jay Rodriguez or maybe even Callum Wilson. Any one of them would have been really useful this season.

    Bring Mitro back... /tinhat
  5. Lots of running, nack for goals, passes well. Needs to start using his head more than just his legs though and he might turn into a proper player.
  6. Are they hacksaw blades? Pretty apt in several ways imo.
  7. Would like to see him start up top with Gayle if not Muto.
  8. How you shay, Ssssshhhhhhmu?

    Joelinton

He's a tall, young Brazilian striker. He's got to be good at some point /cronies
  10. Aye let's always just compare one player's purple patch with another player's shocker. Seems like a sound methodology to me.

  12. He pressed well on Sunday I thought.
  13. Problem for me is that he couldn't even manage to do as expected, which would be about as well as Steve McClaren. Instead, he's overshot and gone full Pardew. Horrible, horrible on-the-ball play and somehow winning matches with just one or two chances all game and relying on the brilliance of a charismatic new French winger. Sound familiar?
  14. Much better than Joelinton at any rate.
  15. Eidur Gudjohnsen.. if only Bolton were back in the Prem when he returned, 14 year gap there.
  16. Think Steve Staunton's first Liverpool spell predates the PL, otherwise that'd be a neat 7ish year gap. Edit: Oh longer than 9 years basically, wow.
  17. Hang on, isn't Wayne Rooney the longest?
  18. Nicky Summerbee played for Swindon in the PL but returned to them 11 years after, when they were very much not in the PL. This is a tough one.
  19. Not getting the Siem de Jong inclusions, unless it's purely from a fitness/availability point of view. Saw most of his appearances and he had an air of class to him, really good ball control and unflustered.
  20. On the theme of left-field, yet surprisingly and worryingly possible NUFC managerial appointments, could see Ardiles back
  21. Bruce in 'Loves a try-hard player' shocker.
