  1. Ba has been completely anonymous. Simpson's been dire. Couple of obvious changes to be made.
  2. You started it. Let's try again then, how would he get into the team currently? Portugal of the late 90's and early 00's, were a team of attacking midfielders propped up by a very good target man, Nuno Pinto. His job was to receive the ball, hold it up, and lay it off to his advancing team mates. Everything he did in his time here suggests he could do that aplomb. Himself up front with Ba, or alone would definitely fit into our playstyle. He could actually offer something in the build up play, which Best cannot do. I believe it's important to have a player up front dragging defenders about and running the channels to make space for our creative midfield to exploit. Players like Ben Arfa and (when he finally gets in the team) Marveaux (sp)

Drink driving is a bit different to assaulting someone. Drink driving conveys a complete disregard and at most contempt for all other human life that you have chosen to be put at risk by your own selfish actions. Knowing someone that had his partner of 7 years killed by a drunk driver as they walked hand in hand on the pavement in a city center hones your view somewhat of what these people are like.
  4. You would take him back for £35m? Seriously? f***ing hell man. Why not? Rather have the money spent on the club than not. We wouldn't have gained/lost anything, whereas right now we are out of pocket by one future England no. 9. Future England No. 9. p*ss off man. I'd rather not have him here for any money, he wouldn't get in the team currently and it really will not be long until he is properly found out. Attempting to belittle someone's replies with laughing smilies and words blocked by the swear filter won't make me change my mind. I disagree on both your points.

  6. Old arguments here, but I will repeat, would take him back for 35m or less, with the interest accrued it doesn't matter on the fee we'd have still made money. People under delusions still that money for sold players will be invested in players and not in more SD advertising boards and stores. Oh right, agent fees, they were invented about a year ago right?

Wouldnt' take Rooney in a million years. If we get through to the last 16/quarters it'll be cause he isn't playing. And what does that say to the people filling in? Hypocrisy
  8. The 4th longest domestic league unbeaten run in English football history.

Bet he's telling Ryan that the left side is actually the right too! Seriously, whatever works and this is some funny stuff. Imagine if Saylor had come out with what Pardew had said Eh? We were playing downhill.

Spot on. He's done himself a lot of credit this season. 10m in value?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

What better game for him to play the full 90, totally dominate City, score 2 hattricks and shatter De Jong's spine.

But according to the all-knowing FM 2012, our best system is with 1 up front
  16. Ludicrous comment. Gillespie had a terrific ability to cross the ball in at full pace. Obertan struggles to match that quality from a static position. I remember Gillespie as a dreadful crosser with the exception of one game v Barcelona. Obertan is also poor but seems to have better close control and more skill. Typical Mackem comment that, "came from Man utd so he must be good" is all I see there. Not following you here mate, I'm comparing one player who signed from Man U with another player who signed from Man U. And I do think that Obertan has loads of ability. Solano aside, Gillespie is the best consistent crosser of a ball we've had at this club in the past 20 years. Gillespie was 100 times the player Obertan ever will be.
  17. The fact that Modric and Bale were completely anonymous down the flanks for the entire game is a testament to our 'shite' fullbacks. Well done lads all the same.
  18. Night and day when Ben Arfa and Santon came on for Best and Simpson, we were a completely different team. Hopefully much more of the same.
  19. cut out the parts which deal with the 'level of ambition' or whether or not we've brought enough enough of the right kind of players - on reflection, I think I was trying to highlight how we're now managing to hit with the majority of our transfers (very few reds, mostly amber/green). Could even look at other Premiership clubs over a similar period and see how successful they have/haven't been - I don't have the info to hand but my hunch is that several of our competitors are still bringing in talented but unsuitable players along with "name" players who don't bring the improvement in performance that their wages and transfer fee suggest. You cut out the bits that you didn't agree with. I started to quote a few of the arrogant, patronising quotes you've made in your "own thread" and couldn't be arsed anymore, there were too many and I got bored. It's almost as if you've become over-excited at the only decent post you've made in 2 years and reacted to every reply like a know-it-all egomaniac, it's a real shock.

  22. Completely agree. Why wouldn't you want to play for your own country? Because it is part of both countries. Do some research on the Good Friday agreement.
