  2. Oh no! Someone had a different opinion to you on an internet forum. They must be getting paid. If anyone on Ashley's payroll would like to contact me about disagreeing with HawK, or any other user, I'd be willing to listen to offers. The Carroll deal seemed to work well for everyone involved. We got a s*** load of cash, Carroll got a massive wage rise, Liverpool got a young, English striker and his agent made a fortune. As it has turned out, the money we received hasn't obviously been reinvested in the squad and we've not replaced him in the team and Carroll hasn't settled yet at Liverpool and hadn't come close to finding the same form for Liverpool that got him the transfer in the first place. I couldn't care less if it was 500m, he was a brilliant player for us, he wanted to stay. If a player wants to stay then no club should force them out, unless not doing so could cause serious financial difficulties. Our owner is a BILLIONAIRE, there is no excuse. Did he want to stay? Maybe he wasn't looking to leave at first but I'll bet the thought of moving to Liverpool really turned his head. We'll probably never know the real story. I'll point you again to this post : http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,58769.msg3202678.html#msg3202678 He said he wanted to stay, what more do you want? He also pointed to that fact that he had just signed a contract in October as a reason why he wanted to stay. Why then did he want to renegotiate again? I also wouldn't expect him to say that he couldn't wait to leave. Didn't he say he was happy to be with Liverpool? If he was gutted to leave, he got over it quick enough. I'm sorry, I just don't think the answer is cut and dried. It's not as simple as stay or go. I'm not defending the club. I'm not defending Andy Carroll either. If you were offered a job at a competitor for more money than what you are on, would you not first speak to your current employer to get them to match it? This is how the business world works. It doesn't have anything to do with him wanting to leave.

Handing in a transfer request letting go of a massive sum tells me different. However not replacing him hurts more then selling him. Who says he handed in a transfer request? Oh yeah.

The thing isn't about Carroll. It's just a total mess that we had 8 months to find a striker and we didn't. And here are people who think it's acceptable. I see selling Carroll and purchasing a replacement as two separate issues. Selling Carroll for £35m was good business for everyone involved. Failure to purchase a replacement is unacceptable. How is it good business to sell said player when he wanted to stay and there was no intention of replacing him, let alone no need to sell him. Must be another fan of Ashley's pocket, lets all support the moneys going in there from Newcastle United. Andy Carroll #9 up front for Newcastle or 35m in Ashley's pocket. Some people are still living in la-la land that this is Football Manager where funds from player sales go towards purchases, newsflash, the company is owned 100% by a selfish billionaire from London who does not give 2 shits about who's on the pitch as long as we don't get relegated. If anyone thinks we're going to sign any striker of worth, over 10m, they need to wake up. Go take a walk around Sportsdirect stadium while next season our strip is changed to blue+red. And yes he can do it.

  7. The hearing declared that the club had admitted to 'repeatedly and intentionally misleading the press, public and the fans of Newcastle United', while the evidence given by owner Mike Ashley and his fellow executives over the course of the two-week hearing was described at one point in the verdict as 'profoundly unsatisfactory'. How some people forget history so quickly. And people are still willing to doubt the word of a born and bred Geordie over Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias. I bet you like the Blue+Red UNPAID logo all over SJP too. Just get lost seriously.
  8. I'll point you again to this post : http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,58769.msg3202678.html#msg3202678 Sup Mike
  9. Anything less than 35m in a heartbeat, considering we haven't spent a penny there is absolutely no sense in not buying him back and making a profit out of nothing. Some people.
  10. Beginning to think a good percentage of the forum accounts on here are on Ashley's payroll in one shape or another.
  11. So you'd rather not believe him (direct quotesare available to be found)over a regime proven in court to deliberately mislead and lie to the fans and it's management? Sup Mike Care to find them? Carroll, whose fee broke the record paid for a British player, said: “I’m gutted to be leaving my hometown club, I was told to go. I didn’t want to leave that’s why I signed a five-year deal [with Newcastle in October]. I was pushed out of the door.” Sup Derek.

  13. I can't believe that there's any debate at all, Andy Carroll would be light years ahead of anything we could field up front right now and there's absolutely no reason to suggest that a big target man cannot play with the team we have. Portugal did it for years with Pinto up front, a striker who's job it was to just hold the ball up while the 3 attacking midfielders surged forward.
  14. Warren Barton and Stevie Watson - those were the days! Steve Watson invented the term Utility Player
  15. Think every one has been whooshed.. it's a thinly veiled attack on the current regime showing the direction we are taking/have taken under our current owner.

    Sammy Ameobi

Despite everything else going on, the best youth setup and development system we've had my living memory as a supporter (20 years)
  17. If you have the money to pay someone to do the day-to-day things for you then why not
  18. Waiting for Mike Ashl- *cough* I mean Ian to defend this now.

    St James' Park

If the whole forum put in a fiver each would that be enough? And does this post count as conspiracy to murder?
  20. When you consider pretty much 3/4 of our current starting defenders will probably outscore out entire strikeforce by the end of the season, you know you're in the s***.
  21. don't think it would make any difference, if i lived there i'd still go, support the name of the club and it's players. Except that won't even be on the stadium anymore... You get my point In reality now by turning up all you're doing is supporting Mike Ashley. I do not recognize Newcastle United any more. My passion for football in general is pretty much gone and right now I couldn't care less. I'll watch the odd game on TV if it's free to view, other than that I haven't bought any merchandise in over a year. Why? Because I used to think my shirt money would go towards improving our squad. Now I know it just goes into Mike Ashley's pocket. Probably get a load of stick but I really don't care any more, that NUST thing needs to get going again to be honest.
  22. Pretty sure at this point Ian is Derek or Ashley
