OMG he's still here :yikes:

Someone throw the maths at him for our net spend :D

Case for RT to RB and new LB now, never thought I would have said it.. don't underestimate his ability at freekicks - goals throughout the team is a very, very good thing to have, it's a reason why I prefer S Taylor at CB than Williamson. I guess it's a throwback to Keegan's way of thinking, any player on the pitch could (and did) score.

Aye, he does look like a guy lacking self belief a bit to me, when he gets the ball with a bit of space in front of him he should be just looking to drive at the defense but he doesn't seem willing to do so. Don't see him as a Dyer at all, he strikes me as someone who even if he gets it together will always be a bit of a hit and miss winger type. But that's nothing to be too upset about in a winger, as long as he produces enough in the way of hits and keeps up the level of effort we saw yesterday then he can be a good player for us. The right wing spot is there for the taking for him too tbh, with Marveaux and Jonas being better fits on the left. Probably more to do with instructions tbh.

Aye At the time I was amazed he didn't go to Arsenal as a Cesc-replacement, I'm even more amazed now after seeing him in the shirt.

Deal could be touch and go.. http://i.imgur.com/wSaYt.png Wow I gotta switch to Humidity, looks like a great ISP

But still would be my no.1 choice after Capello, the Spurs collapse is coming at just the right time.

I'll have you know on good authority, a well broken finger can keep a player out for a season.

Yep, they play on the limit. Whereas Ameobi doesn't even know there are limits. /bicycle Yeah it's strange Ameobi gets caught offside so much when he's never even looking like getting in a goal scoring position. Has the awareness of a blinkered mole rate on a ketamin trip.

Difference is Sammy doesn't think he's made it.

Still crying out for a striker of any worth

I think this too basically, I think most of our outgoings are explicable, and not done purely for profit. Yes we could have held onto Carroll, but the money was too good for most clubs to turn down. Yes we might have kept Nolan, but we were right to to match his West Ham deal. Enrique basically got too good to stay at his current club at the same time his contract was coming up. Every player that has left recently from our first team should have started this season, however I do agree only with the Nolan sale in terms of the fee and player's ability. As has been pointed out, if the chairmen had the ambition of other chairmen we wouldn't be a million miles away from what Liverpool have done.

http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Accounts.jpg From the 2010 accounts I didn't know that, interesting. As everyone says, will be fascinating to see what the next accounts say. I have repeatedly pointed these out before but the blind like to be blind.

I think, despite our differing points of view, the biggest problem isn't money, it's the lies fed to the supporters from the owner all the way down to the manager. I peddle this line a lot, but proven in a court to deliberately mislead supporters. There is so much they COULD say; i.e. we have the money to spend, but we will not be held to ransom for players because of this and the financial future of the club depends on this. Or like I said there is not money to spend it's paying off loans. Or, the money has been spent on the players you miserable lot, here is the breakdown., etc.

Yes - but with no interest bearing debts, as a premier league club, our turnover through TV money, gate receipts and merchandising is more than enough to cover wages and several million in transfers each year. This is evidenced by the massive wage bill reductions over the past 2 financial years results that we have available to us. Since then it is in plain sight that the wage bill decreased sharply in the summer of last season - granted the turnover will have decreased, but the wages now would not be too dissimilar to that of when we played in the Championship. Can you understand how some people are frustrated if we are told money will be spent on players, then it is not?
-
Does the TV money not cover our existing wage bill? For any of the doubters, cast an eye of the previous available NUFC finances in black and white, you will see there is rather more money to spend than we are being lead to believe. That said, what is happening is the loan(s) put into the club from Ashley are simply being repaid, but rather than being transparent, we are being fed lies and being taken for fools by being told the money will be spent on players. Had the club been honest, I think we would all have been a lot happier about what is happening now with our eyes open. I've posted this previously with links to proofs of finances on another thread a month ago. Ashley is simply reducing the debt of the club to make it a more attractive asset to sell.

Woodgate was a bit better than very good. Barring injuries should have been at the back with Ferdinand for England for the past 6 years

This jokes getting boring now. There is a joke? He's one of the best up and coming keepers in the league and at his age will only improve. A full international for one of the best footballing countries in the world. I can see him being sold on regardless of the regime to be honest if we're not challenging like we used to. Always have Forster to call upon when the time comes, unless we're cashing him in at the end of this season too.

Looking forward to seeing our new signing Gosling replace Tiote in the middle after he's sold to Arsenal for 17-22m. Net transfer spend this calendar year, -60m+ in the black. /Ashley
-
If he carries on getting better like he is I can see him as exactly the type of player to replace De Gea for Fergusion, as he's looking shaky as anything.

The alternating case of the scrawl tends to suggest either an internet geek of the highest order, or a small brained child.

Canny wounded he didn't get the Number 1 shirt like I think it's more out of respect to Harper, the number is really immaterial and as long as Krul is playing regularly I don't think he cares too much at this stage, but I think for Harper it would have been devastating.

To be fair we've done incredibly well in the past 5-6 years bringing talent through after being spotted abroad, starting with N'Zogbia.
