All three of last year's relegated teams in this year's promotion playoffs

Was like that in 2004. Before my time. I'm starting to just expect us to be on TV now. Don't think I would've become a fan otherwise. It's been a bad few years between then and now. "The food is awful and such small portions"

Will we qualify for the Champions League? Sadly not...

Could care less Yes, but that's our idiom. -

Pretty sure it does. Not any more. Brazil was the last, I think. -
Can't see Chelsea failing to beat QPR at home. Away to Liv is where they are likely to drop points imo. And to us!

would be amazing. Would be "written in the stars" as some sky commentators say now. Aye. Would be tempted to start him at RB for this reason. ---Krul--- Taylor---Williamson---Coloccini---Santon Tiote---Jonas Ben Arfa-------Cabaye-------Ba ---Cisse--- SUBS: Elliott, Simpson, Perch, Gosling, Guthrie, Best and Shola. Simpson will start though. We've conceded 1 goal in 6 games and you want to break up the back 4? Ok then. Hasn't been the same back 4 in every game.

Simpson will start though. Aye because it makes loads of sense to change a winning team, and a defence that isn't conceding goals. But we haven't gone with the same line up every game during the winning streak have we? I agree Simpson will start, but we haven't had the same back line over the past seven games. We've been without Colo and had Jonas and Perch playing left back.

Well, those are the rules. Still don't care for it. Winning the World Cup doesn't automatically qualify you for the next tournament. Why should the Champions League or anything else be different? I could care less about seeing a team defend its crown. -
Three goals over two legs of the Supercopa. Basically, he won the thing.

Settle down man, I'm confident Bayern will dump on Chelsea. No worries. We'll finish third.
-
Park the bus. Play for penalties.
-
Puts on tin hat. Surely, the very best result for us would be finish third and see Chelsea win the thing. Missing out on Champions League football would really hurt both Arsenal and Spurs. (Chelsea, on the other hand, can just spend their way back in.) That said, the risk is too great. Hope Real Madrid or Bayern crush them in the final. (Can't believe I'm going be rooting for Real Madrid over the next couple of weeks.) No way Mourinho loses to Chelsea. So, I'm behind them 100%. First Liverpool, now Real Madrid. Feels icky.

Nice. Really, really nice.

To echo some of the things that mrmojo said, The absence of Ben Arfa for so long was just maddening-- frustrating and just really difficult to understand. Playing Ben Arfa instead of Obertain or Ryan Taylor or whomever just seemed so necessary. Funny thing, Phillipe Auclaire has got a lot of stick on these boards for his bizarre comments on the Guardian podcast about how the same front six have been behind Newcastle's success this season or some such nonsense. Yet, I don't think Pardew started a front three of Ben Arfa, Cisse, and Ba before the Norwich game. Help me if I'm wrong. I don't think we've dropped a point with those three starting up top. Somebody else, Ingle I think, pointed out that Newcastle hasn't done all that well this season against teams in the top half-- but of course that was a very different side. The team Pardew has put out since Swansea is a completely different animal. And now that we've Tiote back paired with Jonas...it's going to take something special to beat us. I can't wait for the next game.

Bruce got 11 pts in 13 games (2 wins) O'Neill has 33 points in 22 games (9 wins) Cheers, fella. So: Bruce - 0.84 PPG O'Neill - 1.5 PPG Edit: Have I done that right? So much better but they've still lost ground on us We're fecking awesome Much better. If you're looking for some numbers to be a little less pro-O'Neill, maybe try Sunderland's most recent 13 games. (17 pts, therefore 1.3 pts per game) 2 of those victories were 12 and 13 games ago... if they lose their next two games, O'Neills points over the last 13 will be the same as Bruce's 13. Please make this happen.

http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/unsettled-martins-lifts-russian-club/112822/ What the fuck? Still only 27? Just a year older than Ba and Cisse then.

he's already a United player sunshine hate the arrogance of them cunts
-
Missing the CL would be devastating for either Arsenal or Spurs. Chelsea not so much, they'll just buy their way back in.
