We could've had the same squad as Man United & we would've got beat off Hull.

Again, if James & Asprilla aren't playing, that would mean Tony Warner and Kitson would play...how's that better than seeing Cole, Shearer & Grobelaar? James and Asprilla played though. Isn't that his point? Wouldn't be able to get those two to take part, so it should logically be those who were on the bench behind them if it's to be a true re-creation? I might have got it horribly wrong though Ah right gotcha. Tony Warner won't play either way as he is still a pro. So where does Paul Bracewell fit into the equation? Surely there are some people kicking about from 96/97 encounter than some mackem.

Fluidity, much like Man United's forward 3 or 4 when they play.

Leeds ticket prices are ludicrous. Must be a Cat A game v Scunny though at that price.

Should get our announcements sponsored like Birmingham do. Going off .... Coming on ... Sponsored by Floors to go.

Agreed that its a good that he back at the club in some capacity but he should leave to the football side to the football people as said they want to by Llambias and concentrate on sorting the rest of the clubs problems out. Of course, aside from the JFK being ill, he shouldn't need to do any of this if he & Llambias had acted better following all the previous shit thats happened.
-
In a way that is true. But then again, if he admits to not knowing much about how football is run, then what better place to start than down by the training pitch? Plus, as has been mentioned, he's there to show support in the absence of JFK. Nowt wrong with that imo, and if my boss did that, I'd feel a lot better about it. Can't disagree with that but i can't help thinking its just a good bit of PR from him.
-
Does he really need to be at the training ground? He isn't a coach/physio/definitely not a dietician. I can't recall ever seeing other owners knocking about the training ground. Surely he & Llambias should be looking for opportunities to move the club forward such as meeting with local business leaders etc etc. For me its just a show to show he is back at the club but he has done that already by going to games.

Would've been better if they re-created each team properly.

Now that Kinnear isn't in charge perhaps Butt will be dropable. Fingers crossed although i can't see it. Also opens up the possibility of playing 4-3-3 again with Jonas/Lovenkrands in the hole perhaps.

I wouldn't have a problem with it as it would always be SJP to me. You will struggle to find someone willing to sponsor the ground for that sort of money though, they prefer to sponsor new stadiums. The reason for the second line being in your first line, obviously. Everyone would always call the Newcastle BroonAleBowl SJP anyway, hence the naming rights would sell for considerably less. Whereas the Reebok has always been the Reebok. How desperately, desperately tacky. Suprised Man City haven't gone down that route tbh unless its written in the leasing terms they can't.

Will the style that most new Umbro kits follow as they tend to all follow the same style. Eg. Everton & England, Mackems & Hull.
-
Best bait i've had at the match was at (then) Bootham Crescent.

England top is gash. Whats the barcode/ink stain? Does the Bayern/Chelsea top have a zip?

Just be the same shite you get everywhere i'd imagine.

lyon are about the size of man utd in france in term's of support a huge club, + they are usually a selling club at times as well despite winning 6 straight league titles Olympic Lyon av attendance last season - 36,058...well below ours, let alone Man U.. Marseilles is the biggest at 53,000 - just above our capacity....... i said support, not attendance's Lyon's in theory will go right up as they're moving to new stadium soonish
-
Great Viral Campaign that - make an ad too saucy for tele, save on the tele media costs, flood the net with it - bingo! Cheap Ad Campaign.
-
I'd say even more polarised on here compared to what hear in the pub/at the match

Be interesting to see an English football only one.

Bet he can't wait to get back to training with Smith and Butt after a couple of days with Messi et al

They're playing against the best team in the world. No disgrace at all being outclassed. None at all. Spain are a joy to watch. They're like Arsenal with cutting edge
