  1. That Schalke lad played well when they played Chelsea in the CL this season
  2. Srna the RB, altho RB isn't a priority, and the lad who scored the third past England who's name escapes me (Petric?) are both decent.
  3. link just goes to homepage mate
  4. Wouldn't be averse to us buying him.
  5. Get in Big Slav. Reading those last few lines made my day. I officially love Slaven Bilic now . Yep! same here haha, slaven bilic appreciation thread in order, no? Most definitely, top manager as well as a top man
  6. Just remember before we all get carried away...Hugo Viana. That is all.
  7. Seems to be able to play in a variety of positions from what i've seen/read about him which could indicate he could play wide or central in a 3 or 4 man midfield. Which is good as flexibility is the name of the game going forward these days (see Man U and Arsenal for example - aside from the sitter(s) in midfield everyone rotates) Still don't think we'll sign him though.
  8. First team football at Liverpool would be a step up for him. Unlikely to reach Champs League with Villa unless they have an audacious spending spree in the summer
  9. Seems a strange move to me, unless Gerrard actually does go to Chelsea. Barry will be to add depth/replace Alonso if he leaves
  10. Lampard's had a pretty poor season tbh, and I'm his biggest fan 10goals and 8 assists this season says otherwise in my eyes. Think Ferdinand has had a better season than Vidic...just. I know his stats don't show it, but by his standards, he's not been great. I agree, hasn't been as effective as past two seasons but still had a very good one, only other decent CM's i could think of were Carrick and Barry neither of whom have been overly outstanding for the full duration of the season and Gerrard who has only been good since christmas.

  12. James Sagna Ferdinand Lescott Evra Ronaldo Lampard Fabregas A.Young Torres Santa Cruz Subs: Vidic, Adebayor, Hleb, Van Der Sar, Carrick
  13. Bent: good player with something to prove, scored goals everywhere he has been so no reason why he wouldn't score he on a regular basis. Equally as comfortable up top on his own (Charlton) or in a front two. Wouldn't pay more than £9-10m though
  14. The fouling is classic Man U breaking up the game when they're not on top to disrupt the other teams rhythm as much as poss.
  15. It was rumoured in January yeah
  16. Would be brilliant but I'd be amazed if Luka Modric was playing for us next season.
  17. Know what you mean, i'd struggle to name who plays starting XI for them over recent games. Get very little media coverage although they have been the architypal midtable team for this season.
  18. Spurs 96/97 when we won 2-1 after being a goal down. Think Sir Les got both of them, Rory Allen scored for them and Ronnie Rosenthal missed an absolutely sitter in the dying minutes.
  19. Reckon it'll be a draw myself.
  20. Good to see the church up with modern affairs as always.
  21. Ludovic Magnin has always impressed me although did recently sign a new contract with Stuttgart. I simply don't think it's necassary. Enrique could very well be excellent if we just stick with him. The team's hardly going to drastically improve if we sign a better left-back. So what is Keegan going to do, is he looking for a player to compete/replace Enrique or is he going to be actively looking to someone with quality but is happy with the bench? Hopefully the former. Competition is what we need across the pitch. Ludovic Magnin has always impressed me although did recently sign a new contract with Stuttgart.
  22. prefer a left footed LB myself, never keen on players playing on the wrong side so to speak due to the cutting in they have to do. Not as bad if they are a pacy, tricky winger (see Hleb,Ronaldo,Nani) but full backs need to be able to go round the outside and whip balls in. I've been impressed when I've seen him at left back for Spurs with Hutton right back, gets up and down the pitch well and seems to put more pressure on the winger to defend against him rather than the other way around. Aye he has been playing well, just a personal preference of mine. Maldini & Zambrotta aside i can't think of too many full backs that don't play their natural side in the good teams over the years.
