To be fair, I don't think there's anything more you can do with Wigan other than try and keep them up, and have the occasional good cup run. I guess but they have a few decent players (Kirkland, Heskey, Scharner, Palacios, Valencia, R.Taylor), a few more shrewd buys and they could definitely be a midtable team. Depends if Whelan is prepared to get his chequebook out.

Think whoever took over Wigan would've done better than Chris Hutchings but fair play he has made them difficult to beat and done well. Big test will be next season to see if he can kick them on a notch.

Has looked ropey as fuck this season. I see him in a very similar way in a very similar way to Given, makes some superb saves but doesn't command the area and is prone to a rick or two.

That list of players Man U are supposadly after makes little or no sense. Why do they need 3 more central midfielders and another winger, arguably the two places where they are most covered. I agree though, the two Wiganers look decent.

Shaun Wright-Phillips, although i think he is City bound should he leave, and Steve Sidwell. Would also take Scott Sinclair should they feel the need to get rid of him.

Joe Ledley of Cardiff could be a decent shout to replace him n all. Perhaps a double swoop for him & Ramsey who we were linked with today. Probably take at least £7m for both though although Cardiff do need the money. EDIT: According to Ramsey's wikipedia he turned us down at schoolboy level to join Cardiff.

None of there strikers really cut the mustard to be fair. Mpenza and Castillo are both shit unless Bojinov is going to be immense when he returns but it'll prob take him time to settle in the Prem and who knows how he has been affecting by his injury. They also need a good right sided player IMO similar to Petrov.

They gave him a good reception pre-season n all when he came on so a nice way to repay them. Rare that he actually gets a game for Leeds.
