We haven’t been pressing the midfield since our goal and we have kept ceding territory to them. It was coming. Sigh. They don’t deserve it, as well.

Where do I go to see Alex Bruce’s reaction to this?

I’m out in West Texas, near Midland/Odessa. If you’re in Austin, the sports bar at The Domain is a resident Aston Villa and Austin FC hangout with a big screen where they show all the games. And even though you’ll be surrounded by Villa fans usually, they’re a great bunch.

I remember when Bruce used to get pelters on here for "not changing a winning team." It was justified. I think both Shelvey and Willock have weaknesses, and I'd be okay with either one of them dropping to the bench, so we can start blooding Bruno into the lineup. We can always take him or someone else off around the 60-70min mark. I just want to see how Howe has envisaged Bruno slotting in, and how he wants to set the team up. If that's the long term goal, why wait? I just don't think Big Joe should be dropped, as he's been stellar under Howe.

8AM start here in Texas. Takeover has been really messing with my sleeping schedule. I was a right snoozer under Bruce/Ashley.

We've been stuck on -6 since two games ago, I think. I'd have thought the recent two wins would've increased our position slightly.

To echo the sentiment of others on here, I am both shocked and surprised the impact a right-back could have on a team. It's not a position that first comes to mind when trying to fix the many issues in a struggling team. However, his signing has been immense. He's like the Shearer of right-backs, brings a superior air of command, confidence, grit and elite quality, which I did not expect. A beautiful man, to boot.

Still absolutely flying after this result, and game. Watched the highlights the day after watching the full game. I don't think I've done something like that in years.

Looked like the best thing we've had in that position in a very long time. Based on yesterday, I'd say sign him permanently.
