f*** me, are you HTT? No. Next question? Why are your toys out of the pram because a player who has worked harder for us than any other in the last ten years has taken an extremely lucrative transfer with the potential to win something for the first time in his career? When answering, bear in mind it won't damage the first team very much, and could be the difference between us getting some more outfield players and not. Shay's still a ledge to me, don't really care if he was a bit of a nob for his last two weeks. The 11 years before it make up for it. Thanks for the memories. Read my post at the top of the page. Like I said, if I can fall out of love with Kevin Keegan for leaving us in the shit, I'm certainly more than capable enough of falling out of love with Shay Given. Fine, I don't think fall out of love with either though.

Fuck me, are you HTT?

Bassong MOTM by an absolute mile. Enrique good, if Jonas could cross he'd be absolutely fantastic, Lovenkrands looked lively.
-
I agree. Very sad to see him go.

What a load of tosh. He moved to Man City because they're way more ambitious than us. End of. The manner of his exit, the timing etc. he's just another mercenary, they all are at the end of the day. From now on I'll not be putting any stock in any of our players, Shay is the last straw. It's taken you a while to notice. How many non-mercenaries are there in the whole of football?
-
Ditto, depending on the player.. I can't really see it being anyone other than 1-2 out of Gelson/Onuha/Johnson. I'd take any of them.
-
I really hope it involves a player.

Good news for us. Could do with the scores staying as they are imo, apart from Arsenal going ahead.
-
I'd imagine it'll be Lovelyhands.

He's still around, doing very well for his first season. The thing is, i'm not sure he's that effective in a 4-5-1. I prefer Bent as a lone striker, especially away from home. Saying that though, With the good form pav is in, he should start today. Got a very good scoring record in the cups but I've not been too impressed with him in the league games he's played.

As for the second part of your post, I'm an optimistic guy.

Taylor scoring ? TWO THIRDS of his goals have been against us. Who else gives him such room ? He hasn't scored many, but with decent set piece delivery (not just direct goals) you've always got a half chance even against the run of play.
-
I'd rather have Taylor than N'Zog as it stands (don't think he's a better player mind). If we can reinvest the money I'll be happy. Unless we somehow spend it on Alan Smith again.
-
Would welcome him back into the team right now, especially as the cheque Villa used to pay for him was written in invisible ink. I only put him in to see if you'd quote it

we'll cock them Stop saying that, it's doing us no favours! Why...positive rules.....negative spreads!! He's said it before the last two and they've cocked us! Sooner or later it'll work! My 5,000th post. As full of wisdom as any of the others.

Think that will turn out to be a cracking deal for Pompey if it goes through. Not been given a chance at spurs, but has obvious talent and creative ability. Piss take? He's done fuck all at Spurs, why would his value have risen so much?

The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]
Mowen replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
You mentioned him in the wrong thread somewhere. -
You're going to be so pleased when you find out we did it well over a year ago.

A much, much uglier mate?
-
Depends how well he can sing along to u2
-
No chance they'll let Sturridge go imo.
-
Yep, concentrated to one position.

Slowest frontline in PL history? I'm well aware we could slow it down by introducing the Dukes.... Could have it's benefits if we kept the ball on the ground and used an attacking central-midfielder. It could. Shame about the shit finishing and first touch it would produce. Having never seen him play, I'd still start lovelyhands over one of them. Can't say an awful lot for Carroll but Shola's finishing has never been his problem, definitely not. Not his biggest problem, but still a problem. Disagree entirely tbh. For all his flaws, Shola's always been a decent finisher. Can't agree. Surprisingly good penalty taker, but not a good finisher imo. Shocking at one on ones.
