SSN now saying medical in the morning

Fair play. Is it just off field issues for you not wanting him back then? Better player (not necc goalscorer) than any of your other strikers imo, always come across as a bit of a tosser on the pitch though.
-
I prefer Butt. Say what you want about him but he's definately a fighter who gives his all. People say the same about nolan but i really don't agree. He has a decent shot on him but other then that, he offers nothing else. He's also extremley slow and about a half a stone overweight. He's the sort of player that rarely gets involved in play but might come up with a decent shot on goal now and again, then go back to doing nothing. Barton is better than Nolan, but Butt is far worse than both. He's been a disgrace this season. Barton is 10 times the player Nolan is. Maybe i'm wrong about Butt and his performances this season but honestly speaking, if someone said that spurs were gonna sign either him or nolan, i'd go with Nicky (maybe it's because of the type of midfielder he is, i don't know). He's been motm the last couple of times we've played you at the Lane. Thought Butt was very far from motm last time at the lane, played pretty well though. He's honestly been bad beyond belief this season, can't put it into words. Can't pass, can't run, poor reading of the game in general. Occasionally a half decent performance, usually interspersed by concession of a pen. He's utter, utter wank.
-
Or he could just pass on the big poo that Peter Storrie did on him. mackems.gif The prospect of that gimp returning to the lane = :weep: :thdn: :dave:  I thought you said Robbie and Steed were your two best players last year at some stage? Apologies if wrong, would have sworn that was the case though.

there you have the problem with the DOF. If the player recruiting is not good enough, whats the point of keeping him on and changing the manager ? Still, I suppose one or two numpties will still stand by it Do you think the quality of the player recruitment has been acceptable? Quantity is far and away the main issue for me. The squad is threadbare to say the least. edit: by the way, I realise that this is the fault of the recruitment. I'll admit I thought the 2 Argies were great at Old Trafford, I'm sure if I say anything different then baggy will triumphantly remind me, although using hindsight in the manner of someone like mandiarse isn't really me. I still think Jonas is a quality player, in spite of his lack of goals, but Colocinni [and I posted this a while ago, maybe in the thread about him] lacks the strength to be a top centre half in the premiership. I like centre halfs who stand up tall, like he did at Old Trafford, but he hasn't repeated that enough for me. Bassong looks by far the best and along with Taylor is our best central defensive pairing. Guthrie was Keegans signing, at least he says he was, and he;s OK but a bottom half premiership player and a typical player you get for that price bracket. He might be a good lad but that is irrelevant in the cold light of day. The others are, well, forgettable. Smith has been a huge disappointment, Viduka was nothing more than a cheap and poor replacement for Shearer. The best signings made since Ashley have been Jonas and Beye by a country mile. Faye was solid it was disappointing to see him sold to Stoke. Enrique - one minute he looks good, the next he is poor. Maybe he is young and adapting, when Barton had a go at him for not tracking the other week he was right. Wrong to do it in the way he did, but right in what he thought. He is quite quick and strong, but I must admit I don't really like lazy minded defenders doing things like that too often, however good they may be on the ball. Selling Given for the reasons he will leave, losing Owen, and the general situation at the club completely negates any of the few successes they have made in the transfer market, including allowing the squad to be so small, this is why we are now staring down right at the drop zone and to be honest, under the current policy we wouldn't have any chance of putting together the bricks to come back and make a better fist of it. I mainly meant since Wise has come in, so discarding Smith and Viduka as Allardyce signings I generally agree with you. I rate Coloccini, but he could do with a rest imo. Gone through spells of excellent and poor form, seems to be struggling for confidence imo. Bassong has been a revelation. If we can get some other competent midfielders around him then Jonas will look better and better as the pressure comes off him imo. Guthrie's an interesting one. If he was 3rd choice cm and sat on the bench every week I'd be more than happy with him - he's very tidy, has the odd good game and works very hard. Sad fact of the matter is he shouldn't be a starter, but he's comfortably there at the moment. I've seen so little of Xisco and Nacho they aren't worth me commenting on. Obviously haven't worked as it stands.

What does Bobby Robson call you then? Shola: Carl Cort. Why didn't he get pissed off and leave?
-
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/newcastle/article5614880.ece I know it shouldn't get to me, but I'm fuming about that statement. I'm sure I've seen him try at least once in the past, he certainly hasn't done it every week.
-
Yeh i remember i said that (and i honestly still think it). Fuck it, he's still loads better than everyone we've got in that position as it stands (ignoring Barton for the time being given the infrequency of his appearences whilst fit for us).....straws.....clinging
-
Didn't we offer as much for M'bia as we have supposedly for Nolan and Taylor combined today?
-
Missed this thread the first time round. Do we really reckon the best way to make an appeal to him is on the forum?
-
If his genuine reason for wanting to leave is because his name was mis-pronounced he's more of a cunt than I thought. Although on the other hand I wish Shola had left when SBR always used to call him Carl Cort. Follow up statement is the first thing JFK's said that makes sense whilst he's been in this job.

Get "Geordie Boy" Martin Taylor to partner Steven in the centre of defence and we will have the dream team. Might as well go for the back five. Maik Ryan Martin Steven Matty Would make writing the team list quicker Taylor x 5 Would save on ink as well. Operational losses down. Ashley would love it.
-
nolan, ryan taylor, peter lovenkrands. hopefully.
-
Tell you what, if this is true all we need to do is get matty taylor in for enrique and our team will confuse the fuck out of commentators all over the land.
-
Honestly, I dislike those players as much as anyone, but if I ever see a player try as little as N'Zog did against Blackburn I'll be shocked. I know he's unsettled and unhappy etc., but he was an utter disgrace that day.
-
Versitile, decent set piece delivery and can jog faster than either Butt or Geremi can run. I'll happily accept this.
-
Uninspiring, but he would comfortably be our best midfielder. Addressing the right area, and getting someone in who will be a clear improvement. Can't complain at this point.
-
Charles N'Zogbia is a cunt. Fuck off.
-
If those are the only players that are fit, the only possible change is Geremi on the bench, Colo midfield again and Edgar in at right back. There's no way he'll blood a kid in this one.

That episode is wild, unbelievably funny.

Not his fault tbf that his best players have been sold. Was still doing an awful job before they got sold.
