  1. The transfer fee is irrelevant for now in my opinion. We still have half the season to play without our best forward and wont have time today to buy anyone with it. Also there are no guarantees all of the money will go back into the transfer kitty. Pardew could also spend it in a similar fashion to Keane at Sunderland i.e. paying high fees for average players. If Carroll is worth £35 million then we should keep him and build the team around him.

    Alan Pardew

What will the reaction towards Pardew be if Carroll goes? All this nonsense saying Carroll definitely wont leave will prove to be yet more lies. I dont care if the bid was massive and if Ashley made the decision, Pardew came out and said Carroll wouldnt go. Im not sure what is worse though, Pardew being a liar or him not having enough balls to stand up to Ashley and fight for his players.
  3. How long has Carroll been out? Have we lost since? It wouldnt surprise me if Ashley thinks we can live without him.
  4. Maybe he will get his act together, be a good player for Newcastle and get back into the frame for the Irish national side.
  5. Jonas will be dropped when Ben Arfa is back.
  6. He must hate himself for leaving. He was settled up in Newcastle, he would be getting games until the end of his career and he would have been a legend in everyones eyes for generations. He was the closet thing to Shearer for me, especially with him being Irish. I was gutted when he left but I still appreciate the 11 years he gave the club and wouldnt even dare boo him.
  7. Its going to be a pain in the arse hearing this same story every week of the summer.
  8. We play on Wednesday?! Brilliant! I thought our next game was next Saturday and I would miss it.
  9. If he signs and everyone is fit it will be: Barton Tiote Nolan Ben Arfa Ireland Carroll Picks itself tbh.
  10. I couldnt care less what the likes of Liverpool are doing. We are better than about 6 or 7 sides in this league and will finish between 7th and 12th. The likes of Liverpool and Villa were always going to get into gear and finish in the top half. 17th would be awful to end this season and go into next season with.
  11. It won't be like he's forgotten how to kick a ball... TBF, he is Irish, so he probably has. Get him to tarmac drives for a few weeks and he wont be long getting it back, eh?
  12. Howay man, women dont play or know anything about FIFA for him to get the boot.
  13. Bet is he is fucking fuming. Who will take him on after this then? Do Channel 5 still have football?
  14. Fighting amongst the best is the problem though, the best teams have squads to have a go at Europe while also finishing around the European places in their domestic leagues, and we dont. The Europe League is so shite at the start that a side like Newcastle are basically guaranteed the group stages and this adds games to our fixture list that we could honestly do without. I would love us to be back in Europe again, but only when we are ready for it.
  15. We dont have a squad to play in Europe next year. If we made it into the Europa League the fixture congestion would begin to show on the Premier League table. We are still aiming to stay up next year, certainly for the first few months anyway.
  16. Last week I was all "I'd have took a draw before this" etc. But 2 weeks in a row is fucking shocking.
  17. He could get back to the kind of form he had a couple of years ago here if he settles well. The team spirit at Newcastle is brilliant, so if he came and wanted to stay he would have to half those wages. If he got back to form of old he would be a brilliant signing for us, particularly if it is just a loan to start.
