If Tino goes we need to sign a new right back, maybe two (one for Tripps). We can't go into the season expecting Miley to do it because he had a few good games there when we were stuck. It's too risky, what if after a few games he starts to look weak there? We need to be buying an established right back and using Miley in the midfield again imo.

I see the Conference League as a proper trophy. Yes it's not the Champions League or the Europa League, but it's still a competition that requires you to either win a domestic trophy in England or be in the top 30 odd percent of clubs in the countries top division just to qualify for it. Is it really any less prestigious as the League Cup or FA Cup these days? You could potentially play lesser opposition in those too until the later stages, teams a lot worse than Conference League sides. Chelsea got to the semi final of the FA Cup by beating Port Vale at the weekend for example.

Id take Conference League all day. We wouldn't have to play our strongest team in it until the later stages so it'd give our fringe players more game time. It's also a strong chance to win another trophy and a European one at that. It's also important that as a team we play European games every season. Both seasons we got CL it effected our league form, if we have another season next season of no European football and make a good play for top five will they struggle again the following season? Imagine we were in the Conference League right now, we'd have a chance of a trophy and Europa League next season after a shite domestic campaign. Wouldn't you love that right now? Why not want it for this stage next year?

He was pretty much the face of the new era on the pitch in those first couple of years. Always hoped he'd stay on in some capacity but he clearly wants to keep playing week in week out and it won't happen here. The main reason I want to stick with Howe is I don't trust those above him to replace him properly. It'll probably take them half the transfer window and about five attempts before they land someone. When was the last time Howe added a new coach to his team? Genuine question because I'm not sure. If it's been years it could be a good idea to get us going again with fresh ideas. IIRC Jones worked wonders for us when he came onboard years ago under Bruce so something similar could help.

When you look at the state of us in a lot of games this season you could go through those games on a game by game basis and have us lose all of them. We know we'll get at least about 10 points though. Our problem this season is we could win against Palace but then lose at home to Bournemouth in the next game. I think we'll end up finishing about 9th.

We all knew Tonali was probably gonna head off in the summer. Only annoying thing is his performances have been below par for a while now which will effect his value. He was 100m easily earlier in the season.

When he was good he was exceptional, who knows why he had a drop off this season, maybe he isn't happy or something. I think if he was at one of the elite outfits in Europe he'd quickly become one of the best midfielders currently playing though.
