Depends how much we'd be burdened under another owner I suppose. I don't think most owners would even bother with a new stadium, financially it's a massive investment with not much return for a long time.

His nimble feet have always been criminally underrated just because he's a big gangly fella who likes to barge lesser mortals around. His two goals last night showed just how twinkle toed he can be when he gets the opportunity.

PIF could fund all of it if they wanted. It suggests to me that they are looking at the club as an investment first and foremost, if there ever was any idea this was a vanity project, that probably went out the window when the rules to avoid PSR were tightened up.
  4. Not to mention with Wissa being out for another month, we really could use the option of a pacy and powerful front man to take the sting off that loss. Obviously he's not in the same league as Wissa, but it takes a bit of pressure off Wotlemade to be all and everything up front. Also allows Gordon to just be himself, I think he's more dangerous coming in from wide.
  5. Always felt like he was one of our genuinely few top class players during his time here. I remember thinking pretty early on in his career that he should be first choice ahead of Harper. Not that Harper had done anything wrong, Just Krul looked a league above.
  6. Nice to see Eddie praising his hold up play, but I think he's just trying to point him in the right direction. That was the part of his game that was missing for me, massive difference when Woltemade came on. That said, Osula offers something totally different, he has explosive pace, and I loved how he took that first goal shrugging off the defender.
  7. Can only imagine Willock was so unimpressive in the last few games Howe has more or less given up on him. Otherwise he should have had at least 45mins yesterday to get up to speed, given he always looks like he's coming off a long lay off. Which he often is tbf.

That was picked up by a few others as well. They don't just look for the sideways pass to the full backs, or the long ball forward, they are looking to ping into midfield areas as well, this started off quite a few dangerous moves last night. Should not be underrated.
  9. I thought he was a candidate for MOTM. He absolutely bossed it I thought, was dictating and switching play brilliantly. But I don't think he should have played more than half a game considering he needed resting from an important PL game.
  10. They've got a pretty good record of developing young strikers, they obviously seen something they can work with. I thought both goals were excellent FWIW. Powered through the challenge for the first one, and good late arrival at the far post for the second. He needs to take up those sort of positions when he's playing as a striker as well as when he's pushed wide.

Elanga and Gordon should love this guy as well, he's perfect for a goal scoring wide man to link off. Would imagine Ramsey might be looking forward to stealing in on some nice chances as well from his lay offs.

One thing I like about him is he spots the pass really early, and he slid in a perfect pass into someone's path early on, not sure if it's the one you are talking about, but he will make goals if we have strikers with the right movement. Ironically Isak would have loved that sort of service.
  13. It's the best football we've played for a while. Ok the finishing wasn't perfect, but considering we had quite a few fairly inexperienced players in there, some of the more progressive stuff was a real pleasure to watch.
  14. Don't normally think so much of their videos but the Geordie Journos had a decent take about how yesterday was a glimpse into the future Only watched about half of it so hopefully they didn't start talking shite but I do agree with some of the takes around Thiaw/Botman/Osula and Miley. Apologies if already posted haven't had a chance to catch up with all the threads yet.
  15. Just said this in the Thiaw thread. Given they are making defence splitting passes or generally more difficult passes, they deserve a lot more leeway than the safety first players who actually invite more pressure on your team.

One loose pass, but when you see Miley who is a very good passer making 4-5, you have to give allowances for this type of player. They bring a lot more to the table over the course of a season than they concede.
  17. At least he wasn't handing the opposition goals like the woeful Trafford.

We'll probably need to have joined the cartel to do that.
  19. His value just rocketed from £28m to £29m in one night.

Looks like a Rolls Royce player. No wonder Bayern are pissed.
