    Nile Ranger

I definitely logged in to express my joy when Nile scored. I wasn't so overjoyed when the server crashed though

    Ryan Taylor

Taylor is one of the players we should be looking to sell next season if we go up. He's got limited ball skill which is masked by the fact he can whip in a mean cross. Not good enough for a midfield slot which he himself admits he dislikes, and a mediocre defender. Sell him at the end of the season.
  3. True. But I'd wonder who would be out of the door to finance the deal. My money would be on Coloccini. Coloccini is pretty much regarded as over-priced by most on here anyway. He won't be sold this season and personally I would prefer if he stayed next season as well because he's better than people give credit for IMO. Quite agree. He's one of the big reasons we're 10 points clear and I'd like him to stay. Just can't see Ashley sticking his hand in his pocket and funding transfers. He could well sell someone like Carroll to fund them but we've spent nowt (net) in the transfer market for donkeys and I can't see him starting now. If Killa's coming in, someone's leaving to pay for him. If we get promoted I'm hoping that Premier funds and the fact we've been run on a tight budget will mean we won't need to sell players next season. I can't see Ashley investing big money in quality players but I think there'll be some money spent, and there shouldn't be any need to sell either.

  5. Running a football club as a business is a lot less starightforward than the average layman thinks. It's one thing to buy pies from Greggs or drinks at the Irish Bar as an organised protest but the real difficulty will be convincing big financial players to come up with this expected backing as opposed to pledges of support in theory.
  6. If we actually tie up the signing of Kilgallon it will be a start.

    Mark Hughes

What makes you think Hughes would do a better job with no money than Hughton? He can't keep buying Craig Bellamy to drag his teams out of the clarts.
  8. He's yet to show this for us at all. In fact he's up there was one of our least effective and talentless players. I would agree that he's been a waste of time for us, I would have preferred it if we could get rid tbh, but even when playing badly he shows glimpses that he is streets ahead technically than the likes of Nolan. Whether he's ever going to produce that here is a different matter.
  9. You've hit the nail on the head there, Barton will also have to play on the right, meaning no more Guthrie. Barton and Guthrie are both central midfielders who have been forced to play wide to accomodate Nolan. For me Nolan's the worst of the three which is why we play rubbish football but he gets the goals.
  10. I'd play him ahead of Nolan any day of the week if his head was right. Unfortunately it never is.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Your wish will be granted. With Maradonna as coach it's inevitable that Argentina will crash out early.
  12. They'll both keep stay and quietly collect their pay packets I think.
  13. 10 years ago you would have had a point, I remember when I played all the forwards were massive lumbering fatties. But that is changing rapidly, most top players now are in great condition (especially the backs, who are often built like sprinters now). I'm sure that trend is going to continue. True, at a lower levels there are still plenty of bloaters, but sunday league footballers aren't exactly perfect specimens either. (Also, every sport is restrcited to players of a certain physique. You don't see many 18 stone marathon runners.) Funnily enough, a boxing contest between two genuine heavyweights can be a thing of beauty and skill. Rugby on the other hand with 16 sweaty blokes getting to grips with each other is only for some people.
  14. Could you imagine it, all them signings................the formation wankers on here would implode with all potential formations. fuck me I think I'd start posting formations if we spent £200m
  15. It is complete shite from beginning to end really. Too many fat fuckers play to make it a sport. Too true. Rugby is the only sport at school that the fat kids used to feel superior. Like basketball it's a game restricted to to players of a certain physique and therefore shite.
  16. It's hardly unfair, that's what he's being paid to do :S I'm sure he'd love to be given the opportunity but as a fan I wouldn't want to be depending on him scoring...or Carroll for that matter.
  17. City's owners are a disgrace the way they've treated Hughes and now banning the media. They should sell their stake in the club and get out. Then buy us instead.
  18. Ranger is going to be a far superior player to Harewood and in many respects already is. But Marlon is a seasoned forward who will get goals at this level and it's unfair to throw such a big responsibility on Ranger by expecting him to score the goals to win us promotion. .
  19. Bellamy didn't want to leave, Given did. By all means revel in your Given worship just don't get miffed if everyone lese doesn't want to join in.
  20. The difference is Robson could handle it. Like I said earlier you are always going to get the likes of Bellamy letting his mouth go, doesn't mean you have to chuck him out of the club.
  21. Souness made his own problems, he can't blame Robson for them. He was given enough money to improve an already strong squad, instead he decimated it.
  22. Irony being he seems quite happy playing in the position he was asked to play here a few times under Souness these days. Bellamy is always going to have his ups and downs, he just needed handling properly. SBR knew it, Hughes knew it, Souness didn't have a clue sadly.
  23. Incidentally Full respect to Bellamy who never wanted to leave and was forced out by that cunt Souness.
  24. Bassong not settling? That would make my day, I don't really give a shit about Given we haven't missed him at all. In fact I love the great atmosphere in the squad these days without these money grabbing moaners.
  25. I have no doubt that Given has been whingeing, he did regularly enough here, but this is a storm in a tea cup. Neither player is going to move from City while they are being bankrolled by the arabs, this is just typical sly muttering behind the scenes which we all got used to at Newcastle.
