Dennis Wise would get my vote as caretaker manager ahead of O'Bleary, Curbishley or Hughton. He'll believe in the new signings and he won't be scared of reputations. Short term he might just be the job to stop these players feeling sorry for themselves and put some drive back in the squad.

Put yourself in his situation, he can't go to the games anymore incase people assault him, he only bought the club for the craic really.
