This is the one position we don't have depth or quality now. Carr has done alright but his lack of pace and positioning was ruthlessly exposed by Anelka. I don't like the idea of Taylor playing RB either for what it's worth.

Go for it I say

Yes we all knew he could finish. No he wasn't given a real chance here. As for the sell on clause, who gives a toss if it would have scuppered his move to the mackems? Cardiff were smart enough to install a £5m release clause and hats off to them for doing it. Compare that to our bumbling board of clowns who backed gormless managers in getting rid for next to nothing. Outsmarted by Cardiff which tells you a lot surely. Well done Chops but I hope he now breaks a leg.

Back on the subject of Dyer, I know it pains the Dyer hate mob that we are going to get so much money for him, but trust me, this works in our favour. I can picture it now: Northern Monkey: " 7 fucking million??! He isn't worth half of that! Nooooooo!!!! He's a fucking little waster who's taken us for mugs - Get rid for £1m!!!

To be fair he's right what he says. Well maqybe he can finally explain - is Shepherd was such a good chairman - his reasoning for appointing both Souness and Roeder in succession? I asked him this before and he didn't answer that question because NE5 is a genius in hindsight. He gets everything right once it's turned out ok. Like this Dyer deal no doubt. On the contrary, I get everything right, or most things, in foresight. I predicted the mess that Souness would leave us in. Both financial and from the playing aspect. I predicted that we would spend millions and not adequately replace Craig Bellamy. I said that Sam Allardyce is the manager we wanted 3 years ago. I predicted that Patrick Kluivert would be a huge flop. I predicted that Luque would be s****. I predicted that Shola Ameobi would never fill Alan Shearers boots and be even an adequate centre forward for Newcastle for as long as he has a hole in his arse. This is a small sample. Unfortunately, as you continue to think that qualifying for europe more than every club in the country, bar 4, is such a massive and huge embarrassing failure, I really can't help you there. It has nothing to do with predicting either by the way. I also can't help you if you STILL fail to comprehend that as he wasn;t the major shareholder and never was, Shepherd was not completely responsible for appointing Souness. I take it you were happy enough to go to 2 Wembley Finals, and qualify for the Champions League, finish in the top 5 for 3 consecutive seasons for the first time in 50 years, and buy top international footballers though ? Nor can I help you if you STILL fail to comprehend that in the real world, everyone makes mistakes. Even the great Steve Gibson for instance, and the Liverpool directors who rather stupidly appointed a double act of Houillier and Evans. Now who on earth appoints managers with little or no experience eh mackems.gif I don't blame you for avoiding the question as to what was Shepherd's reasoning for appointing Souness because when you look at it, it was a decision so monumentally stupid only a complete retard could have come up with it. Poaching a manager who had carefully steered his team towards relegation isn't just a one- off mistake as you keep trying to imply it's a sign of total incompetence. If anyone was in any doubt, then to follow it up with giving the job to Roeder should have rubber-stamped this analysis.

Against who exactly? Hardly going to be against Arsenal & Spurs as they'll be nowhere near Man Utd come May. These are motivational mind games, hoping us, Spurs and Everton will raise their game and get the occasional notch against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Thats why I think he does it by the way, not fact, but Fergie always has a smaller team breaking the top 4, and that would be my suggestion for it. Or maybe he just seriously thinks we'll finish 4th?

Who said you can't disagree? Feel free to disagree, just pointing out that successive managers from Robson through to Allardyce now, have seen fit to put Shola in their squad. That doesn't make them right or you wrong, just a professional manager's opinion will have more weight than Johnny down the pub. But Johnny's entitled to his opinion just like anyone else. especially when the managers were wrong. says Johnny down the pub... Correct. Which, as you say, is my right. Personally, i wouldn't let Shola onto the bench even, but if he has to be there, so be it. As long as we don't have to play the useless pile of steaming donkey s****. correct. And there are plenty of Jonnies in the pubs who wouldn't have bought half the steaming piles of s**** that some of our professional managers have over the years agreed ,especially those appointed by the clueless fat dung merchant who was our last chairman.

I don't think it's that biased, just reflecting obvious pride and satisfaction at a job well done. Bolton stuffed on the pitch, off the pitch, and probably far into the distant future.

Yeah, especially in the case of Dyer. I'd have snapped that £6 million out of West Ham's hands so quickly and brutally that they couldn't w*** again, personally. me too. Its about double what he's worth, and what we dod was f****** stupid. I was happy with £5m but hopefully Curbishley's stupid enough to give us £7m for Solano and Dyer which will get the deal done. i'd take £5m for the pair of them. Not so sure about that like... I mean, yeah, given the circumstances £5m would seem reasonable... But, you know... we'd look a little bit silly ditching both of them for a lower fee than West Ham bid for one of them. Should qualify that...I was happy with £5m before West Ham bid £6m. Obviously we'd be stupid to let him go for £1m less now. Especially as they will still take him for that.

Oliver's article on today's match should be interesting. Seeing as how he claimed that Allardyce would never get the job when Anal was flying the flag for Roeder's appointment, and his constant sniping at Martins last season. Watch for a complete flip flop as he attempts to do some belated arse-licking today.

Really good write up of the match regardless of whether he's having a dig at Oliver.

He's not retracting any of his statements, just saying he wants to draw a line under it all. Personally I think they got what was coming. When the Bolton poster, trotter88, was on here talking about how boring the football was under Big Sam I thought it smacked of arrogance and ingratitude. Said at the time that Little Sammy'sd attempts to change a winning formula would see Bolton struggle, and it's what they deserve IMO.
-
You need to share your expertise with successive Newcastle managers as obviously you know so much more than the pros.
-
Aye he's considered immense, that's why Big Sam signed two new strikers. Or not. The Shola defending brigade can't seem to accept that our management have finally realised he's hump and actually done something about it! The Shola defending brigade have never claimed he was a first choice striker though. And what has our management done except agree and pushed him down the peckiong order. No one's chasing him out of town with a pitchfork are they? Not unless you and Northern Monkey are planning a visit to Shola's house sometime after dark...
-
He's an opportunistic little shit
-
I think we'll get a draw from this one. We'd probably get more but the fact that the players will still be getting used to Sam's ideas makes me think there will be mistakes. Not having Enrique to come in as a specialist left back could be a problem. Other than that I think we'll do well. 1-1 for me.
-
I don't really care about their family situation, they signed good contracts happily enough, and unless it's in our interests they should be giving 100% or they shouldn't be picking up their wages. If there's any truth that we might get £8m for the pair of them, then it's good business for us, and best all round.
-
Us too if they're not replaced by better player(s). At those prices I'm happy enough, it's good business. I'm pretty sure we'll cope.
-
£8m for Dyer and Solano breaks down as £6m for Dyer £2m for Solano West Ham well and truly busted by Big Mike if true
-
Couldn't have said it better. Our chairman made a poor business decision but Magnusson is still a baldy foreign twat.
-
Did he say that West Ham expected to sign Dyer on a free and that we should pay for the phone calls and taxi charges?
