They should have been one up already by then.

Sterling breathing a huge sigh of relief.

Just some generic stuff about how Newcastle was an attractive job but different to Arsenal, but in the end how being in the CL at VR was too important. Which is fine, but he shoud have said that at the time instead of trying to shift the blame to Stavely & co.

Sick of reading Unai Emery quotes talking about us in the Athletic. I don't blame him for turning us down, but he was disrespectful in how he did it. Hope you do well at Villareal mate, but we have the right man for the job here.

Worth every penny.

Fuck off Burnely/Everton. Wish it could be both.
-
This is the problem. He was clearly trying to follow instruction last night by passing, but he was doing it too late. He holds onto it as long as possible in most situations, but he will never spot the early pass purely through selfish instinct. It's maddening because he could be a world beater without it. I doubt he'll be here in two years time.
-
Not too arsed about Everton winning, we aren't going down, and it means there's more chance they'll hang onto a shit manager for another season which means they are going nowhere.
-
For all he's a valuable member of the squad now, when you see him directly in comparison to Bruno, you can see he's not a genuine midfielder, just sometimes a bad touch, or lack of spacial awareness let him down. Of course he has other qualities that Bruno doesn't have, like athleticism and he can press very effectively, but we will have to look to upgrade next season if we want to really control games.

This is what pisses me off most tbh, Conte's a brilliant manager, but he's wasted at Spurs. There's no way Levy will ever match his ambitions.

It's not the worst shout if you've been blagging a living doing it for 20 odd years. -

He does love losing a derby. -
I know Son and Kane are different class, but it was still galling to see how easily they cut through our defence. Lucas Moura gave us some headaches as well.
-
I'm talking in relative terms really, obviously we aren't bombing forward just yet, on account of not having very good players, but we aren't parking the bus like we did under Bruce, sot that's still part of the transition to more attacking football.
-
There were always going to be games like this, it's the price of trying to change to a more attacking style with players who aren't good enough. On the plus side, once we have better players, the change will look better.

I love Ginola but he doesn't half talk shite sometimes.
-
Don't think we will though. A draw will do me after two losses on the bounce.
-
They described it as him having a setback on Sky Sports news, making a comeback this season unlikely, don't know if they got the wrong end of the stick, but that does seem like fresh news if it's true.
-
Yep looking forward to it more than the January window because from here on in, we'll be bringing quality players only, and we can be far more strategic about our recruitment as, hopefully we'll be established as a Premier team for ever.
-
I said in the match thread, that's the hardest I've ever seen him strike the ball. It was the exception that proved the rule.
-
It was a nice finish but even then the ball was passed into the net. The lack of any real shooting power is his biggest weakness IMO, he'd score a lot more goals if he could really leather it.
-
On the other hand, 50% availability of a top class striker is maybe better than an 80% availability of a poor one. We don't actually have any good strikers at the club apart from Wilson, we'd have to buy two more to consider selling him. Wold the fee for a 30 year old injury prone striker be worth it?
