Wow, I can see why you were biting your tongue, you don't hold back when unload do you? But yes, I've mentioned a few times about those headers going nowhere, and I agree, he's not that great in the air for a man his size. He does press the defenders well though.

Yep, basically said the same sort of stuff in the post above.

I agree, I know a lot of people on here didn't like him, but I thought him and Dyer gave us a very dynamic midfield. We didn't get overrun much in those days did we?

Still don't know to this day how they got away with that. I think after some complaints they put another strip called the awfully nice Gypsie bastards or something along those lines. -

The pathetic sharks were an inspired creation tbh. Almost Blackadder levels of genius. -

Cockney Spiv! I think I was subliminally affected by that cunt, I've used that term many times on here. -

FWIW I used to buy VIz religiously for a while, then I think it went off the shelves. There were some amazing characters like Spoilt Bastard, Mr Logic, and a lonny left couple who i can't remember the name now. The only page which seemed weird was the one about some guy who had massive balls which he carried around in a wheelbarrow. -
Chelsea shoud never have had that spending power in the first place.

Yeah, it wasn't me who posted the Viz cartoon in this thread, but they definitely had a comic story called Fat Slags, there were cheesy chips involved and usually a skinny bloke called Barry. -

Fair enough tbh. Do they still run a Fat Slags page? -

Poor West Brom fans, he'll be there to keep them cemented in the champo next season as well by the looks of it. -

It's all the fault of the players, they've let down a fine manager again. -
Wright gets on my tits tbh, but as a striker I forgot how good he was. I mean I knew he was good, but some of those goals.....wow.

Thnaks for that, appreciate your take on it. So despite all the miscarriages of justice in the US, they still haven't done away with capital punishment. I guess the public at large just have too much of an emotional attachment to it, and in a democracy what the people want is what goes. -
I was switching through the Sky sports channel yesterday and there was a piece showing Ian Wright's goals down the years. Even though we are going back decades, some of the finishing was out of this world. And then I watched Wood against Everton.

He's a very good defender, everyone is going to make the odd mistake here or there, but mostly he's been consistently good. One thing I will say though is I can see what Brighton fans were talking about when they said despite his height, he's not fantastic in the air. At his height he's always going to win his fair share of duels, but he's not always in control when he's up against a striker and the ball can go anywhere.
-
Ditto. Let's be thankful we are going to be in this division to start that rebuild, results like this one will be a distant memory next season.
-
We're not going down man.
-
Even so he still looked one of our better players. Even an 85% Joelinton is better than the alternatives.
-
If nothing else, at least the last couple of results have shown us we are still a long way from challenging the best teams. We've had a great run of results, and that's been great to steer us to safety, right now we should just be thankful for that. We're still not that good though, and we will need to buy some genuinely good players to complement a decent defence. We are good at keeping teams out, not so much at actually scoring goals.

Bruno started the same two games, and we could have won one against the European champions but for a ref's decision, and we should have won today as well. This is a really sad use of statistics.
-
I don't know. I really thought our main problems were the lack of quality in too many areas of the pitch. We ended up hoofing it from the back a lot, and I think Trippier's loss is starting to be felt.
-
Maybe. On the other hand we should probably have won both the last two games, and I'm not sure we didn't because he was missing.
-
I think that might be true for our fantastic run since Christmas tbh. Might be a timely wake up call.
