We don't have anyone sat on our bench who we can sell for £60m.
-
British defenders are usually pretty good tbf, the ones who have gone over there have done pretty well. Kelly's main weakness is in the air, that won't be much of a factor over there unless he's just shit positionally.
-
Pretty sure it has.
-
He could at least have come up with a figure which was somewhat believable.
-
Did you miss the part about them selling Jhon Duran? He was a key player for them, if they sold him, obviously they would have to replace him.
-
Makes the decision not to rotate players even more frustrating if that's the case.
-
Villa had to sell Duran for £60m+ to be able to make the signings. Would you want us to sell Isak?
-
Since summer was always going to be when we were more likely to do our spending, I imagine we will.
-
Definitely still a very tough 90 mins to get through, and if they were playing anybody else you would never write them off. Still a tougher ask for them than us though, so if we go 100% we should go through.
-
Yes, like I said it was a very canny bit of business getting him on a free. Fans can rate him on the back of 3 starts or whatever it was for us, but our recruitment team's judgemnent has proved spot on.
-
Honestly if we can't defend a 2-0 lead at home then we don't deserve to go through. As I'm saying this, Arsenal have just scored a 5th against Man City. But fuck em, they are using up all their goals today, we are keeping ours back for Wednesday.
-
Yes but that is based on a handful of performances. Just not enough games to write anyone off IMO.
-
Thank God we've already got a 2 goal lead from the away leg. It's Arsenal so it's going to be a tough game, but I expect us to raise our levels accordingly, and we'll get through after a tough examination. 2-2 at FT.
-
Sort of agree like.

We need to get rid of this idea that he was ever a liability tbh. He's just got us £15-20m worth of pure PSR profit. He was a fantastic signing and fans need to start giving our recruitment team some props.
-
Now we've got a fucking Lewis Scally to worry about if this wasn't already a big enough game.
-
I normally would want Arsenal to lose this, but realistically we've got more chance of catching City. Although we'll probably not catch either.
-
That's because once they stopped buying European players everyone in Europe lost interest. We have no idea if there's even much appetite for football in China, if there is, I would think their domestic league will probably do fine on it's own terms. Saudi league is different because we know there is a massive market for football and they can probably throw money at it for long enough to grow the standard of their homegrown players and coaching to a point where it's self sufficient. It might not replace UEFA leagues for popularity, but it might grow it's own fanbase in a few years.
-
They did push us to the edge of PSR but we avoided relegation and got CL football on the back of it at the end of the day.
-
That's my take on it as well. Risky I agree, but at least we do have a proper RB as cover so might be better getting some money in if Tripps wants the move.
-
Up to this point I have always been pretty confident we'll finish ahead of Forest and Bournemouth, I was more bothered about Chelsea and Villa. Now I'm revising that opinion, but we should get Europe in one form or another. Might see a couple of big stars moving if we don't make CL though.

This is the thing which I don't get about not changing a winning team. He will be forced into it anyway when Joelinton inevitably gets banned. Isn't it better to do it on your own terms and swap him out once in a while just to freshen things up, and keep the likes of Miley match sharp?

That's how I saw it as well. We looked well off the pace.
