Salah and Nunez are right sided forwards, Isak is more left. I'm presuming they might want to sell Nunez given he's been a relative flop, and move things around if Salah leaves.
-
I wonder if he still lives in Liverpool? I'm guessing probably, as much for family reasons as any.
-
I am a bit surprised that all the talk has been of Arsenal though, considering Liverpool would be looking for a striker to replace Salah, and he is one of the few strikers who VVD probably sweats bullets every time he comes up against him.
-
Big plus to have him back. After flogging Miggy the wide options were looking a bit limited.
-
No, although if PIF are reduced to running it purely as a business, it's not the worst thing.
-
No idea what to expect from this game. I'm sure their fans are a lot more pessimistic than usual, but they still have a lot of players who can hurt us if we turn up at 70%. Got a feeling it will be a score draw, which is not bad. Would be expecting a bit much to go down there and win, they are still ahead of us in the table despite the shocking season they've had.

It looks the opposite of aerodynamic. It would work better if you turned his head upside down with the chin at the top. pseuedo-phreonology grift...fail.

Same here. I used to work with a fella who was living up here and he was a proper Mancunian who absolutely despised Man U, probably through always feeling like the other club because Man U won a lot of worldwide support through the Munich tragedy. This is back in the days when City were less successful than us, but he grew up there and he supported City because it was local to the side of Manchester he was from. As opposed to Man U whose support ranges from Burnley to Tunbridge Wells.

Could be snatching at chances somewhat because he's not playing regularly so not getting a chance to get in his groove. He was in a great position to get another in the second half on Saturday if Murphy had squared it, so he is getting in the right areas.
-
How many teams would be in for him given he's barely played in the last 6 months due to injury?

Callum Wilson: offered 'incentive-based' contract extension (Ornstein)
TRon replied to Strawberry's topic in Football
Think I'd much rather take a chance on him being our second striker for a season rather than gamble on Wilson's fitness tbh. At least you know you will have someone who will be available for bench duty for most of the season. -
Tbf, I think he was perfectly built for a Rafa Benitez side where you could sit back and then hit the spaces. It requires a lot less accuracy and invites less pressure when you are on the ball.
-
The perfectly capable squad player would work without PSR. Then we could keep players like Longstaff around and give them games now and then where we felt they could contribute to a result. The issue is, we don't have money to spend on players who will improve us. If you got £15m for Longstaff you could spend that on a young player with a much higher ceiling, whose value would appreciate. That is where you have to weigh up the pros and cons of giving out new contracts to players whose value decreases every year.

The way they are playing, every chance some other team can knock them out. I'm all for easy draws until we get to the semis.
-
We'll only have ourselves to blame if we can't stop them this time. Not gonna happen!
-
Hard to know if we undervalue him unless another team actually wants to buy him. I'm assuming there's not much interest since he's not been getting games for us and no one has come in for him.

Tbh I thought it was mad that we'd even consider giving him a contract extension, but I'm assuming the reasoning would be that we wouldn't have to spend big on a striker next season. Risky obviously, but with limited funds we might just want to prioritise other positions. -
Tbh if he had the end product he'd be steal of the season. Given a bit more exposure he might not be too far off from producing it, he looks like he's got an eye for goal, just needs the polish that comes with playing regularly.
-
Not really, just slightly frustrated he hasn't pushed on much I think. Thought he handled the rough stuff well today, he came in for a lot of it.
-
Not a good look for our game when you see what the refs used to let go because "it's a man's game". Just fuck off man.

Never a good idea to put any store on him for a run of games, but was good to see him come through almost the full game unscathed, and a trademark poacher's goal. -
He's what you would describe as a handful. And then some.
-
Thought he was one of our better players personally.
