I don't think we are at free hit stage in the PL just yet. UCL might be out of reach, but UEFA Cup qualification is still there. Any sort of European participation is better than none, if only to keep ambitious players on board, and to give us the chance of another trophy.
-
Probably not the type of player we are looking for but that Somerville has looked impressive for West Ham. He seems to be playing a big part in their turnaround in form.
-
Yeah that's how it looked, just Howe insisted he hadn't changed formation.
-
Would be the perfect game for Osula as well tbh.
-
I wasn't a big fan of him starting ahead of Wolt on Wednesday because I thought it was the perfect game to get our misfiring forwards some goals and confidence. But if Howe really rates Gordon as a striker then he has to stick with it. And Gordon has to deliver.
-
He should tbh. If I was reading Howe right, it seems that Woltemade was actually playing in his role against Carrierbag, but he's no Joelinton.
-
I get the purists who want to always have the stripes traditional, but we are due a change up once in a while. I was always a fan of the old badge which was copied by Sunderland, so I will be sad to see that go.
-
Oddly enough, I've seen some really smart one touch passing from him, and he does make really incisive little passes forwards at times. I can see the glimmer of the player in there that Howe must have seen, but the poor first touches seem to register more than the good ones for the majority. I still wonder if it's just small club syndrome and he's just not confident enough to transfer his skills to the biggest stage. I also still hope Howe is the man who can bring that out of him.
-
Agree. Although I still remain to be convinced that Gordon is a striker at the top level either but at the moment he certainly looks better in our system than Wolt.

For foreign players Chelsea have the added attraction of being in a swanky part of London. Other than that though, they were not really considered one of the top clubs before Abramovic's £billions investement into the squad transformed them into one.
-
If he's got anything to be upset about it's probably seeing Gordon as a preferred choice as the main striker.
-
Disagree tbh. I think Arsenal chucking away two points last night will put a bit of pressure on City to win. That might end up affecting their fluidity, I would see this as an opportunity to turn the screw a bit.
-
Also a side that couldn't cope physically with us. PL sides are more battle hardened so comparing apples to oranges.
-
He did it against Barcelona, but he was in wide open space with only one man to beat. He's not getting that space in most PL games, and although I missed a lot of the first half, it looked like he wasn't getting much space today either.
-
Which would suggest it's still dodgy tbh.
-
He's a striker for me, not a midfielder.
-
So was the third tbf.
-
There's probably a reason why that's not already the case tbh.
-
Maybe he'll do it in the PL now. Still not convinced he's a striker or Woltemade's a midfielder.
-
They are probably ok against less physical teams, I think we just overwhelmed them with pace and power. That doesn't work so much in the EPL.
-
We didn't really learn anything today.
-
Sean Neave isn't even that if we go off today.
-
Should have played some of them in this one tbh.
