I just hope he can still make those runs, Burnley fans seemed to think he's been sluggish this season.
-
Alli is one of those who I think presents more of a danger from the bench, especially if he's not up to speed. That's actually quite a smart decision tbh. Willock would have been similar for us.
-
Yeah, I mean I don't expect to outgun Everton with our forwards, but I was quite confident of winning the midfield with Bruno in there.
-
Thing is, it doesn't work on two accounts for me. Not only would Bruno have given us more control for the first hour or so, but IMO Willock is much more dangerous off the bench.

Klaxons sound for the new challenger to Ando7
-
That will all change with the arrival of Bruno tonight.
-
I do fancy him for a goal tonight. Two games under his belt, and a week's warm weather training. He should be starting to get a feel for how we play now.
-
Yeah that was my alternative to Shelvey, but he is loose in possession. I would bring him on as a sub, he was really effective coming off the bench last season.
-
I've actually got quite a lot of work done today, been trying to avoid getting too involved in this game because there's too much tension. Feels like there's much more at stake than just three points. Their transfer window signings vs ours Howe vs Lampard Barcodes vs scouse mackems Rafa's legacy

Was it against Hull under Steve Bruce when we came back from 2-0 down? I was there, it was absolutely soul destroying.
-
Record the game because it's unlikely you'll remember any of it.
-
Really excited to see how he lines up with Bruno in the same midfield. I'm not a fan of Shelvey for reasons mentioned too many times, but with the legs of Joe and Bruno in there, that could really have the makings of a sexy midfield trio.
-
That's what I mean of course. Typo.
-
This. All I will ever remember this absolute fraud for is he made me so disillusioned with where our club was going, it was the first time I actively wanted us to lose games. Even Bruce didn't manage that.
-
Don't know if it's the same in France, but some of the pitches are huge in Spain, that makes it less easy to get on top of players with the high press.
-
Yeah, he looks like that fairly slender frame hides a titanium exoskeleton inside. I'm thinking of T2 the cop in Terminator 2.
-
My god, this lad fancies himself a bit.
-
No surprise, everyone wants their slice of the pie from monyebags Newcastle. He'll be worth it tbf, sounds like everything we've been missing for the last 20 years.
-
People need to temper their expectations somewhat. Looking at Everton's side, and they have a lot of attacking talent. Dele, Gray, Richarlison, Townsend, and now you can add Van Beek to that as well. Not sure our front three of ASM, Wood and Fraser compares that well tbh. Hopefully Bruno and Trippier can even it out a bit although they are positioned a bit further back.
-
He's a lot better than Bruce like, but something about his personality really grates me the wrong way. I think it probably grates on his players as well, that's why he never quite achieves what he promises.
-
There was, and apparently it was a lot more money than he's getting at Milan, but he chose to go there for his career prospects. Only on loan mind, so nothing to say he wouldn't come in the summer if we stay up.
-
Not got a good feeling about this one, I was counting on Dan Burn playing, Lascelles and Shcar would be ok if it was just one of them, but both together, and you can see one of them making a mistake. Really need something from the front three tomorrow, Everton have defended badly all season.
-
He will I reckon. Howe chucked both Trippier and Wood straight into the starting line ups after their signings.
-
Just feel that Gayle is the closest we've to to Wilson as a striker who will run onto the through balls into the spaces. Wood should be able to as well in theory, but he's looked pretty sluggish in the two games so far.
-
Yeah it's really weird. I agree the scouse mackems is probably a bit unfair, but they seem to be doing their best to live up to it.
