That's a ridiculous penalty and sending off for Burnley.
-
What does building the team around him look like?
-
Quality from Toney there.
-
4 times they've hit the woodwork Wonder what the record is for most times in a game without scoring.
-
Good to have a few local lads in the squad but with Miley and Anderson there I do feel if we can get any sort of decent fee for Longstaff then we should take it.

The fact that Gordon can play both sides is great. Bring in a top class RW option and let Gordon, Barnes and the new signing rotate the three spots. I think I'd like to see Minteh stay with us next season. Could see him being a cracking option off the bench in the last 20 minutes of games. Will depend on whether we have European football though.

It is/was the biggest weakness of ASM's game, once he got the ball he was electric but his movement without it meant he didn't really tend to receive the ball in great positions.

That music after the Bayern goal

I mean I don't believe for a second he was trying to nutmeg the keeper on that goal Was a fair bit of luck involved there IMO.

I mean, I don't think he'd have got near the pitch had Tino not been injured Delighted for him, looked good today. By all accounts the deal is gonna be made permanent so just have to hope he keeps making strides and gaining Howe's confidence.

Feel like if you didn't enjoy that game then you might have lost the plot a bit in terms of why you're a football fan.
-
He's such a hindrance to any attempts to play clever football in the final third. Infuriating as he gets into so many good positions.
-
Hope that ballboy went up to Kudus at full time and called him a cunt.
-
I really fucking hope we're somehow not signing Hall
-
Feel like absolutely nowt would have come of it had he just apologised when it happened and not spent months trying to threaten and demean the poor girl who'd very clearly done absolutely nothing wrong.

If we can get a really top class young talent procurer in then Ashworth leaving does have the potential to be a blessing in disguise, you'd think. Obviously a glass half full POV. Seems like much of what Ashworth does best he should have at least got the ball rolling on by now. Must say, when he came in one thing I was very excited about was the idea of doing what Brighton have done for years and finding players like MacAllister and Caicedo and bringing them in at affordable prices. Not necessarily unearthing gems for nowt, but getting them before they're going for superstar prices. Have we signed anyone other than Minteh that potentially fits that profile? Maybe Kuol? Not been for lack of trying, I suppose. The likes of Maximo Perrone and Andrey Santos we had longstanding interest in, a few others too. Feel like maybe we misjudged the market there, either in terms of how much they'd cost or whether those players would have more attractive options. Hopefully there'll be changes to FFP which will allow us to flex our financial might a bit more, otherwise getting a director who is going to find value for money in our transfer dealings is going to be the only way we can bridge the gap.

Do you think you could pull her if you were incredibly rich?

I'd imagine the stuff going on behind the scenes right now is proper fascinating like. Alliances and backstabbing and whatnot. Somewhat related, rumour on golf twitter is that Yasir and Tiger Woods had a secret meeting yesterday on Tiger's fishing boat ahead of a PGA/LIV meeting today at PGA headquarters

Think the biggest issue is the idea of just accepting that we weren't going to win any of the cups and then saying being 10th with ten games to go is a good season. Want to make the arguement that given all the injuries we've had it's not that bad a year? That's more than fair. But out of all the cups and 10th at this stage of the year is about as bad as the season could reasonably have been expected to go IMO.
-
Why would anyone? "We'll get horrendous draws in all the cup competitions and consequently win nowt. Also we'll be 10th with ten games to go. Deal?"
-
I mean there are obviously a number of reasons that it hasn't been a disaster but no, I wouldn't have taken that
-
In hindsight, we should PROBABLY have signed a RW instead.
