Dubravka Tripps Lascelles Schar Hall Bruno Miley Joelinton Ritchie Livramento Gordon Major potential to backfire but this is the only game of the next three where not starting our strongest eleven seems at all like something we can maybe get away with. Don't think we'd be overrun with that midfield. Keep it tight and hope to nick a goal, then on 60 minutes release the hounds. Isak looks fucking knackered and we can't afford an injury to him, give him the last half hour and a better chance of being right for both Spurs and Milan. Tino didn't look great at RW against Dortmund but I reckon he'd have more chance of doing some damage cutting inside from the left. Ritchie obviously won't offer much threat but should do a job covering and protecting Tripps at least. Infuriating having all these injuries, feel like we're absolutely vibing off our faces as a team right now and with a good rotation available to us we'd blitz through this December fixture list.

More and more convinced that he can lead us all the way to where we want to go. Imagine once he has a deep squad of all top class players and we can play our high intensity style for 90 minutes every game. It will be immense.
-
He'll become exactly what he's supposed to be, a versatile squad player who's a fantastic presence in the dressing room.
-
Well as long as he had a nice day.
-
He's like Paolo Maldini at LB, but much better going forward.

Burn should come out and publicly renounce all claim to the position, frankly.
-
Would be really disappointed with a draw, frankly.

Ultimately we're probably looking at players like Joelinton to become to our squad what Murphy has been the last year or so. Not generally first choice when everyone is fit but going to play a lot of football over the course of a season due to his versatility and what he brings to the team combined with the type of character he is in the dressing room. It all depends on FFP though, really. If it's at all feasible to keep the entire squad together while signing a CB, a midfielder and an attacker then I'd love us to just do that.

In a vacuum, yes. But Almiron is basically our only player whose best position is RW and our depth on the wings is poor. We should be bringing someone in to compete with Miggy, not replace him in the squad. We have a bit more depth in the LCM position, where Joelinton and Willock are probably at their best. It's probably the position that Anderson is most suited to, too. I don't know... I'd like to go on record as saying I really don't want us to sell Joelinton or Willock. Just that I can see the logic if it allows heavy investment at some other positions.
-
If be very happy with him as the 25th man in the squad for the foreseeable future but if we can get 20m+ for him then I think it makes a lot of sense as it opens up a lot of FFP wiggle room. Have kind of had it in the back of my mind that there'd be an unpopular sale next summer to help with FFP. Kind of thought it might be Willock or Joelinton so if we can move on Murphy instead that seems like a win. Would still be sad to see him go though.

I like how the thread title is essentially "Should be fine unless he's fucked."

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Shak replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Dortmund will surely be highly motivated to top the group. Their likely opponents if they top the group are... Copenhagen/Galatasary/Man U PSV/Lens Napoli Lazio Porto While if they finish second... Arsenal Real Madrid Atletico Madrid Man City Barcelona Not a definitive list as little is settled but it would be a surprise of any of the teams in the second list don't win their groups. (They could also play Inter/Sociedad, hard to call how that group will go) But yeah, they'll be up for it against PSG IMO.
